A lighter/quicker Model Y Performance would do. Screw the range. I have a 10 mile commute. I bought electric for how it drives, not to avoid charging for 3 weeks.

I wouldn’t get your hopes up. Plenty of Texas MYP orders from Jan, Dec, and even Nov still waiting with a March EDD range. They have a huge backlog here.

I saw an S Plaid today driving into my neighborhood right in front of me. The MYP I ordered suddenly seems inadequate. Twice the payment, interest, and depreciation…

Car should either be lighter (quicker), or have more range, but seems unlikely we’d get both.

You going to keep the car for many years? If not, expect to gain this back when you have a mint condition Y at resale? Or just for your OCD satisfaction?

Are any Houston cars coming with the Michelin tires? I don’t mind summer tires, but have a strong preference for Michelin over Pirelli.

Tuned RS7. Runs 10s. But maintenance becoming a problem, and throttle response sucks. MYP should have adequate power and I don’t want used or a $140K Plaid.

Similar mindset for me. Wanted a lighter and quicker MYP because it’s slower than what I have now. But going to drop this thing for a Rivian as soon as I can. It’s a gap vehicle now. Maybe a MY Plaid would bring me back.

Ordered 12/14 and I’m kind of ready to have my GD car now. And I know others have been waiting longer. Tesla don’t care about no order date. Order a month later and get it a month earlier. Ready for there to be real competition in this space.

Fewer batteries and a holed out floor —> lower weight to get same range —> quicker car. I care about the acceleration, not the range.

I have the same exact build and delivery window. Houston, 12/14 OD.

I’m not particularly worried that Tesla will be able to sell Austin built Model Ys in Texas. Whether that happens at the outset or some time next year, the sheer economics dictate an efficient outcome. There will be a workaround or, if necessary, a deal to get this done.

Are we that serious about this Intel chip thing? Rejections left and right over that. Would be interesting to see the difference in performance. Serious FOMO. Can’t wait to see next year’s version of this pattern.
