Coffee Spill and the Center Console

My apologies. I'm not sure who that is. I did do my due diligence and used the forum search, but I didn't find a conclusive answer.

Coffee Spill and the Center Console

Good point. My fear was that its residue would be conductive. Or that moisture would make the dried residue conductive. (I'm probably overthinking it.)

Coffee Spill and the Center Console

Thank you for your reply, @fholbert ; it really helped. A follow-up question : if I'm reading your reply correctly, it implies any residue of the back coffee is inconsequential. Would that be right?

Coffee Spill and the Center Console

I'd say about 4 oz. Luckily, just black coffee. I'm not comfortable with a full teardown. If it's just black coffee, do you think it would matter?

Coffee Spill and the Center Console

Hello This morning, my coffee took a tumble in the center cup holders and overflowed into the center console, right over the usb-c ports. I'm an overthinker so I thought it'd be better just to ask - Do you guys think it'd cause any damage to the vehicle, or are there safeguards wherein...

Model Y Alignment & Anxiety-Triggering-Angles on the Steering Wheel

They do not. Well, not entirely. When I used to frequent the Walnut SC, they did offer loaners and Uber credits. However, now the company doesn't offer either unless it's an extenuating circumstance.

MYP with 21" ÜBERTURBINE Wheels and Lift; Does anyone have this setup?

I suppose I'd be okay with that. At this point, I was just looking for a solution to increase my ground clearance a bit due to some ground clearance issues. Functionality over aesthetic.

MYP with 21" ÜBERTURBINE Wheels and Lift; Does anyone have this setup?

Has anyone ever seen an MYP with the stock wheels, but a 1.5-2.0" lift? I've done some googling, and I've only found the combination with overland wheels. The images made my AI don't see that accurate. By chance, does anyone have an image of one? Also, aside from losing range, is there any...

Pressing the Park Button While Driving

Thank you all for your responses. I do remember reading that post, @red-min-t . Thank you for that. My question is more what happens when you’re about to park, going less than 5MPH. The H symbol on your MCU hasn’t shown up; I think that means you haven’t fully stopped. But you press the Park...

Pressing the Park Button While Driving

I joined these forums a couple of years ago and I thought there was a post about pressing the Park button while you’re in motion. I can’t seem to find it anymore. Pardon me if that post exists somewhere here. Addressing the Model Y or 3. Please assume the Tesla is set to use Hold. If a driver...

Model Y Alignment & Anxiety-Triggering-Angles on the Steering Wheel

I showed up at the second appointment. A different service advisor greeted me. They called a lead tech to help us both. They went over my alignment sheet. We went for a test drive and they concluded everything was fine and within spec. I accepted it and moved on. However, that afternoon, I got...

Model Y Alignment & Anxiety-Triggering-Angles on the Steering Wheel

Just an update: I spoke with my service advisor who directed me towards an exceptionally knowledgable tech. The tech reviewed my alignment sheet. Resultantly, I'll be visiting the service center again. The tech said you were right, @fiehlsport , the camber on the front driver-side is far too...

Model Y Alignment & Anxiety-Triggering-Angles on the Steering Wheel

Ah, leaning not on my own understanding --- the alignment could technically be correct now, hypothetically speaking, but the steering wheel could still be off? Aside from the aesthetic and the slight off balance triggering my anxiety, would it cause any actual issue for the vehicle?

Model Y Alignment & Anxiety-Triggering-Angles on the Steering Wheel

One extra question for you guys: Say the alignment is done properly, but instead of the steering wheel being off-center to the right, as when I first got the MYP, post-repair, it's now very, slightly off center to the left. If the alignment is proper, but it's still off-center, is that a big...

Model Y Alignment & Anxiety-Triggering-Angles on the Steering Wheel

I just spoke to the Service Center. Another tech from the same garage is willing to look at the results to see if anything is askew, especially the front driver-side camber you mentioned.

Model Y Alignment & Anxiety-Triggering-Angles on the Steering Wheel

I saw that, too. But it was from Tesla China, and it seems like it's for the Model Y Standard or LR. In the same section for the NA manual, the specs are amiss. Idk why. A guess is said specs are sold as part of a database for alignment machines in NA.

Oh wow. I was a bit thrown off by that #. I can't seem to find the camber standards for the NA 2023 Model Y. Where should those numbers be?

Model Y Alignment & Anxiety-Triggering-Angles on the Steering Wheel

Thank you for the comparison with your alignment. It’s good to have a frame of reference. I did go to the local Tesla Service Center. It took about 3 hours. They did fix the steering wheel angle. So I’m grateful for that. Thanks for the explanation. The only docs I found with camber, caster...

Model Y Alignment & Anxiety-Triggering-Angles on the Steering Wheel

Hi everyone, I was hoping I could get your help regarding my Model Y Performance. I picked up my MYP last April. The steering wheel was off-center to the right. Ironically, my Model 3 looked the same in regards to the off-center steering wheel, so I didn't give it much thought. I thought it...

    Heater makes a “whoosh” noise?

Hi, I made peace with it in my Model 3. I believe it was the heat pump. It wasn't a coincidence that it happened when it was cold and the heater was on. I have a Model Y now and I occasionally hear it, albeit more subtle. I still think we only hear these weird sounds because we're accustomed...

Ground Clearance and Steep Driveways - Tesla 3

Thank you @paulp and @Quickst for that insight. It's been 9 months and I haven't scraped on this Model Y. I thought I did on Saturday, but after watching the video, it really doesn't look like it. Instead, the horrid sound I heard was the anti-slip. But in general, is light scraping really...

Shifting from Drive to Reverse, but briefly pausing at the first position - does it cause a short free fall?

Essentially, pausing at the first stop on the stalk momentarily puts me into Neutral, then by moving the stalk further upward, it shifts into Reverse? I think that’s how I’m understanding it. So that free fall motion I occasionally feel is just being in Neutral momentarily until the car shifts...

Ground Clearance and Steep Driveways - Tesla 3

I had a Model 3 and I scraped the undercarriage a few times. I've only done it once on my Model Y. In general, is scraping any real concern for Tesla? Does it cause any significant damage?

Shifting from Drive to Reverse, but briefly pausing at the first position - does it cause a short free fall?

Pardon me. What I meant was, if I was on an uphill or downhill slope in Drive, if I move the stalk to shift into Reverse, but stay at the first position for a second or less, it feels like the Model Y goes into freefall for half a second or less, but then eventually does go into Reverse. It's...

Shifting from Drive to Reverse, but briefly pausing at the first position - does it cause a short free fall?

Hi, I’ve had my Model Y for about 8 months now. It’s my favorite. But I had a question that I thought it worth asking for due diligence, and to see if anyone has noticed the same behavior. When I’m in Drive in the Model Y, going uphill or downhill, if I move the stalk with the intent to go...

New Model Y - Missing Bolts or Rivets?

It is very strange that it's missing. But tbh, it's likely as @eagleray mentioned - intentional. I'm in week 2 of owning my MYP. I opened a Service ticket via the App last week, and after a short talk with the nearby SC, they said there should be plastic pop rivets there. They sent a Tesla...

New Model Y - Missing Bolts or Rivets?

Thank you for your input, everyone. I made a service appointment and I was chatting with an advisor via Tesla App text. They said there should be rivets there. New Model Y - Missing Bolts or Rivets?

Gen 3 Wall Connector - Is Surge Protection Already Present, or Is It a Requirement At the Main Panel?

That's definitely frightening. I'd rather play it safe and have one. However, as I'm not an electrician, there's so much I don't know. E.g., if there is whole house surge protector, can I do away with all my APC surge protectors and just use outlet multipliers? Will the UPS backup for my PC...

Gen 3 Wall Connector - Is Surge Protection Already Present, or Is It a Requirement At the Main Panel?

Good day, everyone. My main panel isn't too strong. It's just at 100A, but I'm looking to upgrade it this summer to 200A. Today, my house experienced a power outage. Power returned within 10 min, but I didn't get the chance to turn off the 60A breaker connected to the Gen 3 Wall connector. To...

Charging Error Notification, But It Still Charged? Error: CP_a054

Thank you all for your responses. They were helpful. I spoke with a Service Advisor and they said it was probably a transient error message. I haven't had any errors since. I was able to charge over the 16A limit of the CP_a054 error, so it was probably fine.

Charging Error Notification, But It Still Charged? Error: CP_a054

I had a question RE: an odd occurrence that recently happened. I figured I'd ask here before I let my overthinking spiral out of control: I plugged my Tesla into its wall connector in last night at 23:54. It started charging. I lowered it to 27A. Later into the evening, I lowered it further to...

Is it worth purchasing a MYP now, even with the old cameras?

Wonder if they can enforce that retroactive, Jan 1 ruling. It wouldn't be fair for the folks who've already taken delivery.

Is it worth purchasing a MYP now, even with the old cameras?

For sure, the range would be great. Especially since we keep the battery around 80%, or 240ish miles. The car's got a bit cheaper with the 7500 FTC, but is it really enough to upgrade rn? Or gamble on better changes after Investor Day?

Is it worth purchasing a MYP now, even with the old cameras?

That's a good reflective question I should've asked myself. Truth be told, I'm not sure. But I suppose it's bc of my friend's 2018 model 3. The flickering on his cameras irked me and made the car seem low-tech. I was hoping 5MP would blow me out of the water and make me less apprehensive of...

Is it worth purchasing a MYP now, even with the old cameras?

I've given myself until 17:00 tomorrow to decide whether or not to pull the trigger on a Model Y Performance. Do you guys think their shipped 1.2MP cameras would be a good enough deterrent against the purchase? For folks with 5.0MP cameras, is it great enough to say, " Wait til the 5.0MP is...

    Heater makes a “whoosh” noise?

In context though, Teslas are whisper quiet due most of the time. I think most of our previous cars probably had the same noise, but we didn't hear it due to the ICEngine.
