Ordering a Hyundai Santa Fe is not an impulsive decision. I'm not even sure why you thought this was relevant to the conversation. There are plenty of Hyundai Santa Fe's out there and there is not reason to wait 5 months to get one. Who special orders a Hyundai Santa Fe?

They shouldn't be able to do that. I'm really irritated with all these "market adjustment" price increases that everyone seems to be doing. I've seen vehicles marked up over $18,000 over MSRP. The last 6 months has been horrendous for buying vehicles.

That is what I was wanting to know. Do they supply something to the other factories or what? If this is the case then I can understand it. If they do not supply anything to the other factories then there is some explaining that needs to be done.

But what exactly would it affect in other factories though? I understand that they had to shut down and do whatever they did, but why would that require the other factories to do the same?

Out of curiosity, why would this affect production in the US? Is the China plant providing something to the US plant? I can understand how this could affect Asia and Europe EDD's but not North America.

Nope. I would have already wrapped my head around 6+ months. I would have had a totally different approach in waiting that long instead of possibly 2-3 months. It's not the same same. There are a whole bunch of other factors that I would have considered if I expected to wait 6+ months. So...

Which brings me to my original point. If I wanted to wait 6+ months I would have ordered a Model Y. Until recently it was not likely to wait 6+ months for a Model 3. Sure there may have been people who have but the majority did not. That is my point. My point is not what the current wait time is...

The point was that if I were willing to wait 6+ months for a new car I would have went with a Model Y and just waited the 6+ months.

If I wanted to wait for 6+ months I would have ordered a Model Y. If my EDD gets pushed out again I won't be taking the car and going a different route.

That may be the case but it looks like some people choose not to disclose this and try to make it seem like they got lucky and only waited a short time.

I agree, that is 100% frustrating. I want a better understanding of how they determine the EDD. There has to be some sort of method to the madness.

I'm also in the same boat as you with selling my truck. I had a 2017 Ram 1500 crew cab 4WD. A couple of weeks ago I stopped to fill the truck up and it cost $82. I sold the truck that afternoon and ordered a Tesla.

I just ordered a wall charger to install in my garage. Does anyone know if the glass roof needs the sun screens or not? I'm not familiar with how good the tint is. I believe there is some tint to the glass roof but I've had cars with a tinted sun roof that made the sun unbearable during sunny days.

In Kentucky a car manufacturer cannot own a dealership, it has to be franchised. Which is the reason they do not have a "Service Center" in Kentucky and I have to pick up in Ohio or Tennessee.

I really hope that the plant in Texas does manufacture Model 3's. That would be fantastic and maybe help with the increased demand.

I can tell you that my experience was that I found out the EDD changed by looking at the app. They don't seem to go out of their way to notify you of any changes.

The only problem with the signature thing is that if you are a brand new member you cannot edit a signature for the first few days.
