Song cover art no longer available for Radio after 8.0 update

I noticed it too, and can't think of any reason they pulled it. I do know that the cover images were pretty unreliable - maybe that had something to do with it... Adam

Steering wheel audio select source gone?

This is the biggest deficit for me with v.8. Hope we see it back in 8.1. Can't think of any (logical) reason they removed it.

    V8.0 rant

Yeah, tied of the auto zoom map as well. It's not necessarily the zoom that bugs me, but the slow pop-in of the map elements when it moves in and out. That - combined with the slower (perceived) LTE signal means you're looking at a broken map when there is no need for it.

    First Model X with 8.0

Installed 8.0 and just took my first drive. Haven't tried AP too much as it's rush hour here and I have no need to be on the interstate. FWDs are MUCH faster. Huge difference. Like the new UI - the nav bar going away when car is in motion makes the screen real estate much more useful. On the...

    First Model X with 8.0

Dapao - in the past they've pushed updates in blocks of VIN numbers (as they are more likely to have the same components and sub-components). At least that was my experience with my Model S... Adam

    Experience with flat tire

Got a nail hole in my left rear tire (much the same as the OP - losing about 3-4 lbs/pressure a day) on Thursday or Friday. My tires on my P90D X were the Goodyears. Took it to the Austin Service Center on Sat, they fixed it. $80. Said they had to cut out a piece of the sound-insulating foam...

    Model X Speakers

I don't think there are speakers in the rear for the non-ultra fidelity. I think the speakers in the standard are: 3 speakers in dash; 2 tweeters in A-Pillar; 2 speakers in lower front doors; 2 speakers in FWDs. Anyone else confirm? Adam

Model X NON-Ultra Fidelity Speaker Location

Thanks, vandacca. I can't seem to hear anything from the rear panel(s) nor see where a speaker might go. The standard system doesn't have the sub - so my guess for the only odd-number (non-paired) speaker would be a center channel somewhere. Adam

Model X NON-Ultra Fidelity Speaker Location

Hey everyone, Traded in my Model S P85+ on a Model X P90D last week. It's amazing what a few years of R&D can do for the overall fit and finish for a car. The Model X is so far ahead of where my Model S was - especially in the interior. I bought an inventory car and while I had the upgraded...

Model S front mats (Tesla OEM Weather Tech) fit in Model X?

Hey everyone, I'm trading in my Model S P85+ on a P90D Model X - taking delivery this week. I have the full set of Weather Tech mats for my S - frunk, trunk, front and rear passenger. I know most of those are NOT going to fit the Model X, but curious if anyone has tried putting the...

Temperature "hold" When Out of Car

Jerry33, Quick follow-up question on the 30-minutes. Is that 30 minutes from the time you hit the "Turn On" button on the mobile app or from the last time you accessed the app? The reason I ask is that here in Texas, I use the app a lot when I get out of the car to fire the a/c back up. I am...

Can't connect to "My eBAY" with browser

Hometheatremaven, This doesn't surprise me - there are a lot of Web sites (including parts of the new Weather.com) that our "primitive" browser doesn't support. It seems to really have challenges with sites that involve cookie-based logins (since the browser doesn't support out-of-session...

UMC Tug-of-War; Could it be SW Release 5.9 (1.51.109)?

I'm seeing the same thing. Before .109 I pushed the button on the UMC connector, released the button and waited for the cord to unlock before pulling it out. Now, I have to depress the UMP button and keep it held in to release the cord. Not a big deal, but it is different and something that took...

Why does the charge port light turn off after the car locks?

Paul & Rlang, I always leave a note on my dashboard when SuperCharging with my cell number, and while I recognize that many people don't, this info (the ability for someone to see if my car has completed charging) plus my contact info might help them. And I know that several of the SCs here in...

Why does the charge port light turn off after the car locks?

I like the idea that the light turns off when connected to a non-SuperCharger (as it does now) but that there is some sort of indication on the vehicle (like a steady green instead of pulsing) when connected to a SuperCharger. The car "knows" what connection it is attached to so this would seem...

Screen Cleaning Mode Turns Off Passenger Air Bag?

What's that "Blind Spot" feature under "Active Safety" on the graphic above? (And the OCD in me asks why it isn't aligned with the other sliders in the second column.) Is this a screenshot of an owner's manual ready for new features? - Adam

S85 Owners: Do you wish you had bought S60 instead

Hey AustinEV, Agree with you on the Sunday hours of Collin Street Bakery at the Waco SC. Thank goodness for the Denny's and the little path in the grass down the access road to it! I've gotten to the Waco charger after-hours and made that mini-Pilgrimage for a Grand Slam a few times now... Adam

All Weather Mats only $200 full set at the Tesla Store

Agree on that it's a good deal. I got mine a few weeks ago, turned them over and what do you know - they're manufactured by WeatherTech! The only difference is that they have the Teslo nameplate on the front instead of WT. I ended up getting the interior mats as well as the trunk, footwell and...

Custom Michelin EdgeLiner Laser Fitted Mats at Costco.com

I just received my Tesla all-weather interior mats this week. They fit great and I wondered why I liked them so much. Turned them over - they're made by WeatherTech.com (but with Tesla badging on the front). Always ordered WeatherTech mats for my other cars - so was very pleased to see they...

Day trip Austin-Plano tomorrow. Advice for a quick charge in Plano/Dallas?

Hey everyone, Wanted to give you an update on my trip yesterday there/back from Austin-Plano. I left Austin yesterday morning and stopped at the SC in Waco. The Collin Street Bakery is great - great food, free wifi and lots of space to stretch out in. I made a point of thanking the restaurant...

Day trip Austin-Plano tomorrow. Advice for a quick charge in Plano/Dallas?

You guys are great. Thank you. I didn't realize that the Corsicana SC was so advantageous. So, it's likely I am going to see both SCs tomorrow - definitely stopping in Waco on my way to Plano and depending on whether I have a chance to charge in Plano (and how my range goes), I'll return either...

Day trip Austin-Plano tomorrow. Advice for a quick charge in Plano/Dallas?

Hi all, Making my first day trip from Austin to Plano tomorrow. Plan on stopping at the Supercharger in Waco on the way up, but worried about the trip from Waco > Plano > Waco in my Model S P85+ without much time to charge in Plano. I'm speaking at an event at the NYLO Hotel in Plano and while...

Getting Beyond the "TX Supercharger Triangle" & connecting with the coasts...

These are FANTASTIC suggestions and personal testimonials, everyone. Thank you! As soon as I get some time (probably this weekend), I'm going to start creating a spreadsheet of all of these. And who knows, I might get an itch to drop these into a Google Maps mashup... Appreciate it, keep 'em...

TexasEV, Thanks for the response (and I just sent you a PM with my email). Great news about the charging stations in Freddy - that is one of my favorite day trips from Austin. And I read about the charging spot in Iraan on Ken's blog at The Frunk Is My Suitcase | A road trip across the United...

Hello Tesla fans, I'm the owner of a new Model S P85+ that I took delivery of last Monday. I live in Austin. My girlfriend and I went down to the San Marcos outlets this past weekend for some shopping as well as my first Supercharger Experience. And it got me thinking... We are lucky here in...

Texas Hill Country high-amp destination charging

I love Fredericksburg. My girlfriend and I did a motorcycle trip to Marble Falls and F-Burg last spring and found it to be a great day destination from Austin. Question whether the EV charger happened. I'd love to make the repeat trip in the next weekend or two (with the bluebonnets out) in my...

    Help bring Tesla to Texas

Supersnoop, As a new owner (8 days) of a new P85+ here in Austin, I'd be happy to help however I can. I know central Texas (and the new showroom in Dallas) are huge markets for Tesla and hopefully bring the giga plant to The Lone Star State won't be ENTIRELY dependent on the power of the auto...

No "P85+" logo on main screen or dashboard, just "P85"

UPDATE: I contacted my service adviser, and they called the folks in California who sent an OTA update that made the "P85+" appear within minutes. It appeared correctly on the info panel on the touch screen, but was still showing as "P85" on the instrument panel. Called again, and within...

I am now a Tesla owner, and evangelist!

Treehugger, I got a pretty considerable discount once you took into consideration the $1 for each mile and 1% for each month since manufacture standard "showroom discount." I think the total discount was over $14k. When you add the federal tax rebate to that ($7500) that make this a very much...

I am now a Tesla owner, and evangelist!

Hello everyone, As of Monday, I am now a happy owner of a 2013 Model S P85+. I "purchased" it here in Austin, Texas (well, officially from Colorado thanks to our ridiculous auto retail laws) and got a loaded dark grey demo model with about 7800 miles on it. )Always love someone else...
