Ended up going with my 2-bike RockyMounts platform rack and it worked like a charm. Efficiency came in at an overall average of about 180 wH/km and that was fully loaded with cargo and passengers (and not with a light foot either).

I'll be doing the same trip, but from London and in a 2022 M3 RWD and it looks quite manageable. I've gone as far as Ottawa in the car before and the Perth route is definitely the one to take.

Any recommendations for a shop in London that can install a Stealth Hitch for me? Was thinking of doing it myself but it's a two person job and my other set of (more experienced) hands can't help out. Thanks in advance for the suggestions!

It seems negligible on my rural/suburban commute. I don't know what it would look like at prolonged highway speeds.

I ended up pulling the trigger on the 2.0 kit from Tesla. I was a bit unsure based on the online photos but they look incredible in person! It really looks like they were part of the design. Totally recommend!

Probably how smooth and linear the electric drivetrain is. It makes it super easy to modulate - whether I want to drive slowly or quickly, its always smooth and always ready.

Picked up mine yesterday. VIN of 2418xx and it had Matrix headlights. Not sure of the build date - all I could find on the Canadian sticker is month and year (5/22). Got the “final payment ready” email on May 1 if that helps to narrow it down at all.

And I’m officially out! Picked up my blue on black RWD yesterday. Everything looked good and it drives beautifully. My concerns about acceleration were completely unfounded - it’s not a rocket from a dead stop, but it absolutely flies from 30-120kph.

In even better news, got an email from my SA today letting me know that they were able to push up my delivery to Sunday the 15th! I had emailed earlier this week to check on the status of things and to see if that was a possibility, so I'm quite pleased to see they were able to accommodate!
