    Supercharger - Aberdeen, MD

This and Laurel mean never having to stop in Bethesda again. Maybe those really irate calls I made to Tesla HQ when both Tesla stalls were occupied and I waited OVER AN HOUR for some idiot in the mall to come out and move their car. And I wasn't the only one screaming at HQ. I'm happy that...

    Supercharger - Strasburg, VA

We must have missed you, there were other cars when we got there around 5, but we didn't see any other owners. We were the only ones there when we came back through later in the evening.

Comment by 'thetigerfans' in media 'License_plate_ezpass'

Thanks, we used this method with the S, but we had the transponder at the bottom of the plate. At first we tried mounting upside down so the label was not visible, but that didn't work, so we installed it right side up and put black tape over the label. We tied the plate and transponder to the...

    Supercharger - Strasburg, VA

We stopped there twice on the 9th. Charging started at over 300 miles of range per hour, so much better than our last experience 1½ years ago. Sorry I did not see your post sooner. I believe one of the more recent OTA updates included SC status, but I could be mistaken. Hope you had a nice trip.

    Model X external transponder

Forgot to say thank you to everyone for trying to help. THANK YOU!
  6. T

    Model X external transponder

The air intake on the front of the X is much deeper, and Tesla did not recommend blocking anything in that area.
  7. T

    Model X external transponder

Thanks, but we are forging the front plate for the time being, so that is not an option just yet.

    Could you post a photo?

    Model X external transponder

Has anyone successfully mounted an external ez-pass transponder to the front of the X? We did not put a plate in front.

Sorry I did not see this sooner. The only thing we had to pay for that would have been covered by the warranty was $300 for door handles sticking. The only other charges we have encountered was a cracked windshield a bent rim, and of course new tires. We take our car in for service every...

We were there the day after Christmas when there were four charging and 5 waiting. What a zoo that was. Glad that is now merely a memory, but once they sat art delivering the 3, they will probably need to double this.

Model X Timeline - From Prototype to Production

I'm guessing that comment is more about the frustration than truly considering us poor little mindless lambs. It seems like a repeat of the S launch, which was very challenging, even into the 2nd qtr of 2013. Buying from Tesla during a ramp up is a little like childbirth, you are so...

Model X Timeline - From Prototype to Production

We received the configuration email on Monday, and configured it yesterday. It appears you get a week to think about your choice because the reply email says the order will be confirmed in one week. It's hard to say where we sit. We went for a sig reservation thinking it would move us to the...

Supercharger - New Jersey Turnpike Rest Areas - Molly Pitcher & Joyce Kilmer

True, Tesla does say to take the car lanes, but it is still easy enough to get to the SC without having to drive to the next exit and come back. And I agree with you, the truck lanes is my first choice and frequently the better ride. Have a great day.

Supercharger - New Jersey Turnpike Rest Areas - Molly Pitcher & Joyce Kilmer

Please confirm that you were in the truck lanes, so we know for sure that Tesla has corrected this issue. Thank you.

    100,000+ Mile Club

I'm glad I found this thread since I didn't want to start a new one on the same topic. We're not official members yet (93K) but here a few things. 60 arrived April 2013. Had we known that the SC network would expand so rapidly, we would have gone for the 85. Smart decision for Tesla to...

    Supercharger - Strasburg, VA

Thanks for all the suggestions and interest in my problem. I should mention that on our most recent road trip we crossed the 93K mark, so we (and our 60) are not newbies. But no, there wasn't any debris in the charge port. However, months ago we did have an issue with the charge port popping...

I did all the things one is supposed to do. First I unplugged and moved. That didn't work, so I called HQ, and they could not find anything wrong.
  24. T

    Supercharger - Strasburg, VA

We were below 50% charge when we arrived and 50 degrees is not cold, so I'm not sure that is it.
  25. T

    Supercharger - Strasburg, VA

I was the only one there. When I called HQ to ask why it was so slow, all they did was ask about the temperature, which was in the 50s.

We used this SC last month. We topped out at 175 miles/hour. We've had better results at older SCs. Has anyone had better results?

Supercharger - Bethesda, MD (Permanently Closed, Oct 2016)

Peter, I appreciate your interest, but this info might help. When we pulled up, we immediately called Tesla HQ, and were told that one car was done, the other was not. The owner of the "done" car, never showed during the 50 minutes we were there. The owner of the other car did appear after 40...

Supercharger - Bethesda, MD (Permanently Closed, Oct 2016)

Unfortunately, if your trip takes you to DC and back from north of DC, this location is vital. - - - Updated - - - It is steps away from the entrance to a very busy mall. And lots of Teslas in the area. When we tried to charge on Friday night, there were two at the SC, two dealer cars...

Supercharger - Bethesda, MD (Permanently Closed, Oct 2016)

They also need to remove it from the Trip Planner. You can't pull in expecting to be there for 30 minutes, and then waste several hours. Here is a picture of the car with dealer plates that was fully charged when we arrived on Saturday. Not only did they not appear in the 50 minutes we were...

Supercharger - Bethesda, MD (Permanently Closed, Oct 2016)

This location is turning into a joke. It should be removed from Tesla's website. The SCs are now blocked 40 minutes to an hour by shoppers. We used to have to worry about ICEing. Not here, it is the inconsiderate S owners who let their cars sit there long after they are fully charged. I...

Supercharger - New Jersey Turnpike Rest Areas - Molly Pitcher & Joyce Kilmer

I had the same experience on 10-3-15. The Nav gave us the exact same thing and since I was low on electrons, I started to question myself, even though I live in NJ and know how the rest stops are connected. I called Tesla to make the aware of the problem. Hopefully they update the Nav.

Forgot to mention that The Bleckley Inn is a Tesla destination charging location, so it will pop up on their navigation.
  33. T

    Supercharger - Greenville, SC

Absolutely - The Bleckley Inn. We have stayed there for both Clemson graduations, and trips to Atlanta. We've stayed at several of the pricier hotels in Clemson, and inspected several more - there is NOTHING in Clemson as nice as the Bleckley Inn. Plus it's a short walk to several shops and...

    Supercharger - Greenville, SC

Good day all. Just want to remind everyone of the destination charger at the Bleckley Inn in Anderson, SC. We stayed there this weekend and charged overnight. It is a marvelous hotel and the owner is very gracious. You don't have to stay at the hotel in order to charge, but if you do stay...

    Supercharger - Greenville, SC

For this quote and the Yelp review comment, it just reminds me that Tesla owners tend to be nice friendly people! - - - Updated - - - I completely agree that we need an SC in this area, but in the interim the Bleckley Inn is an excellent alternative. We get off 85 at 29 south to get there...

    Supercharger - Greenville, SC

I'm guessing that note about guests only is on Tesla's destination charging site. I think that may be a standard default. In speaking with the owner, they have had numerous non-guests charge. Some dine locally, while some have just read the paper in the lobby. On a side note, I have always...

    Supercharger - Greenville, SC

Don't forget about the Tesla 80 amp destination charger at the Bleckley Inn in Anderson SC. It is not that far off of 85 and if you take the back roads, it is a pleasant drive. The trip from Charlotte to Atlanta in our 60 would be torture without it. We always plan our trips to Emory...

    Teslas in Movies & TV

Yesterday morning Michael Strahan was talking with his temporary co-host (sorry but I don't know her name, nor what show he is on.) The woman mentioned that her husband and young daughter were doing a cross-country road trip in their Tesla and that they had to stop every two hours to charge...

    Supercharger - Greenville, SC

I imagine you are headed up 85, if so, stop for lunch in Anderson SC. The Bleckley Inn recently added a Tesla Wall charger. They appear on Tesla's SC map and on plugshare. It is wonderful hotel, and a short walk to numerous restaurants and shops. - - - Updated - - - The hotel you speak of...

The Bleckely Inn is FABULOUS, the photos really do not do it justice. Model X Timeline - From Prototype to Production

We placed a deposit on an S60 in May 2012. We had to go to NYC to even sit in the Beta model they had there. Test drives for reservations-holders-only made it to NJ sometime over the summer. We got an email to select our options at the end of 2012. Deliveries were delayed and cars were...

ICEing at SCs and how to handle it

Since you are better at navigating the site, could you tell me if there is a thread on ownership costs now that many Ss have been on the road for over a year. Something to the effect of mileage at the one year mark, and repairs that you had to pay for. Thanks in advance.
