    Warminster, PA Service Center

I just scheduled a service appointment for Th 11 Jan 2024.

    Warminster, PA Service Center

Surprised that they didn’t take the opportunity to install some number of Superchargers in that HUGE parking lot.
  3. James Anders

    Warminster, PA Service Center

Wonder if they will have an open house?
  4. James Anders

    Warminster, PA Service Center

Here are some progress photos taken 31 May 2023. They have a gigantic parking lot. And all over the lot they’re excavating these oddly shaped cutouts. Could be Superchargers or lights or ? The large lot and building would support the Tesla Semi too. Jim

Service Center / Store - Warminster PA

Here’s some in progress photos from the renovation of the old Pathmark supermarket into a very large Tesla facility. There’s a huge parking lot and they have excavated odd shapes. Rounded corner and a angled corner. Could be lighting or Supercharger stuff. Probably have a lot of space for...

    Supercharger - Fort Washington, PA

Saw worker taking photos at the end of the day to document the installation.

    Supercharger - North Wales, PA

Great news. Another option besides Bensalem. SE PA and NE of Philadelphia needed some loving.
  8. James Anders

    Supercharger - Bensalem, PA

Charged at Bensalem the other day. One Model 3 and some bozo with an ICE parked at the end stall. I have a 2016 just post facelift Model S 90D Lud. I didn’t see much difference in charge rate. Probably my car isn’t as capable as the newer models. But regardless it’s so nice having a SC...

200 kWh Roadster Pack: How is Tesla Pulling This Off?

So what would be wrong with a 100kWh Roadster with 300 mile range, significantly lower weight and more affordable.
  10. James Anders

    Tesla semi is ill conceived...

Really? Sure sounded that way to me. Oh well. The Tesla Semi tackles this classic truck safety problem using tech
  11. James Anders

Bob Lutz and his latest Tesla comments...

Lutz has been a promoter of electric vehicles. Why else would have praised Musk in the past? Why else would he start up his own electric vehicle company?
  12. James Anders

    Tesla semi is ill conceived...

Not vapor at all. There are many vehicles today with active torque vectoring. Independently controlled motors with active vectoring.
  13. James Anders

    Tesla semi is ill conceived...

No. H2 is a dead end technology for vehicles. Too many infrastructure problems and costs. Piping, pressurizing and storing H2 is just more trouble than it's worth. I was in that world for 2-3 years. What changed was the rapid (and continued) rise of lithium battery technology. All anyone...
  14. James Anders

    Tesla semi is ill conceived...

Not to mention that major advances that the Tesla Semi will be with regard to the problem of jack-knifing. This alone will be a huge safety gain which will be enabled by computer control over the 4 wheel motors.
  15. James Anders

    Tesla semi is ill conceived...

Maybe that's why Elon hired and appointed a bunch of people with truck experience.
  16. James Anders

Which (classic) car would you like to see converted?

Why? Some people like the styling and appeal of classic vehicles. For many, working on classic vehicles isn't a waste of time and energy.
  17. James Anders

Bob Lutz and his latest Tesla comments...

And founder. The relationship between Via and GM speaks to Lutz's Tesla bashing motives. It's still surprising, however. He's generally had more class than this type of petty nonsense.
  18. James Anders

Let Tesla know what features or tech the Roadster should have to make it even more awesome?

An even lower spec version with 100 kWh battery. 300 miles range. Much lighter. Performance would still be nice with better handling. $135K
  19. James Anders

Which (classic) car would you like to see converted?

Great question. I wish some new company would work with Tesla's OK, purchasing and minor tech support and develop a kit or series of kits to do conversions. Now with the upcoming Model 3 front drive unit - a lot of new possibilities open up.
  20. James Anders

Bob Lutz and his latest Tesla comments...

Sure. I get that. And one could have a meaningful and relevant discussion on many areas of Tesla financials, service, growth, etc. My main beef with Lutz was his inane comment on the lack of a "secret sauce".
  21. James Anders

Bob Lutz and his latest Tesla comments...

I don't normally dismiss what Lutz has to say. As I said, I have held him in fairly high-esteem in the past. It's just that this most recent secret sauce comment is so bizarre. Yes, we know Tesla is spending a lot of money. If Lutz simply commented on that, fine. But we know why Musk is...

Now young Tesla, you will die

I routinely respond to these stupid financial posts which attempt to cast shade upon Tesla. The number of negative posts from financial organizations, stock sites, etc. is just staggering. And for the most part the articles are one-sided yellow journalism. Here's one that really grinded my...

Bob Lutz and his latest Tesla comments...

At one time, I had a great deal of admiration and respect for Bob Lutz. He made some great contributions back in the day. However, his latest Tesla rant was shameful. Either he's clearly not the person I thought he was, or he's just acting as a shill (paid or otherwise). Or, he's not aging...

Space ship controls was pushed to the Roadster

Looking at that steering control (no longer a wheel) I wonder how many turns lock-to-lock? Less than 1?
  25. James Anders

    Good Bye Tesla

Uhh...perhaps the guy had friends here? These "don't let the door hit you in the ass" posts are tiring and juvenile.
  26. James Anders

    Good Bye Tesla

    Seems pretty clear to me.

SF sues oil companies because of climate change

Regardless of the merits of the case there's no possible way that this will be proven in a court of law.
  28. James Anders

    Gun control

And what political party is in control of those 4 cities? Yes, the party demanding more gun control.
  29. James Anders

    Politics - Quarantine Thread

    Facepalm.

When will we have a Basic Minimum Income?

Getting paid for doing nothing is ultimately very cruel. It saps the will and drive from people. Normally motivated people will relax their standards and fall into a malaise. We need to ensure that as automation increases that we are able to transition the workforce to real jobs.

    Superchargers at WaWa?

Perhaps my letter wasn't in vain....
  32. James Anders

Anyone not getting Enhanced Autopilot (EAP)?

Not getting it. Wish they would unbundle TACC, though.
  33. James Anders

Traffic Aware Cruise Control - Broken Out into Separate Option?

Anyone else thing TACC should be unbundled from Autopilot? I didn't purchase Autopilot because I didn't think I would use it and I felt it really wasn't ready for prime time. But I would (if I could) purchase TACC because I do use cruise control and it would be a welcome addition. I would...

    Here's why the 3 isn't a mainstream "affordable" car

The only thing I agree with from the OP is the paint choices. I REALLY hope Tesla changes this. To only have one base color and have all the other colors as premium smacks of a$$holery. Should have at least 3-4 base color cars that are zero added charge. White, Black, Red....
  35. James Anders

Poll: Aero covers - will you use them?

The covers are ugly IMHO. And for our Model 3, which will be used for around town, short trips it really won't save that much to warrant the fugliness. Pennies per day. Perhaps if we took a cross country trip but we would take the Model S.
  36. James Anders

GM invests in 'gas engines'... doesn't know Tesla exists.

It's not GM. They are going to produce what their customers want to buy. And as more electric cars and alternative energy sources come along gas is going to get REALLY inexpensive.

    HVAC UI design sucks

Jalopnik is trash. Always some sensational, click bait, snarky point of view. Not worth the electrons it's printed on.
  38. James Anders

PMAC vs induction motor for model 3

    That's probably why.
  39. James Anders

    Model 3 specs

Of course, Elon might say.....In time no one will need a heated steering wheel because you won't be holding it. Put your hands in your pockets. Heh.
  40. James Anders

No AM/XM radio or included Wifi? Tesla Streaming?

AM Sucks. Any AM channel I listen to I stream it.
  41. James Anders

I'm disappointed that I'm not more disappointed!

So, I can't be critical about anything without being told to get lost? My point was there should be a few base colors to choose from. Perhaps a white and a red along with the black. I apologize if that comes off as being a Tesla basher.
  42. James Anders

    Elon's Model 3 Deception

Isn't that the comparison car that Elon targeted?
  43. James Anders

I'm disappointed that I'm not more disappointed!

The single no-extra-upcharge paint color of black is absolutely ridiculous. You might be able to get away with this nonsense on the upscale S and X. But no way for an entry-mid level sedan. Shameful. Should be 3-4 standard base colors at a minimum.

    Model 3 Handover Event -- July 28, 2017

Nonsense. Not looking for EVERY feature. Just would have been better if Elon took 30-45 minutes to go over the car. We were told that a full and detailed release of info would be in this presentation a long time ago. Why couldn't Tesla release these details on their web site or in a PDF...
  45. James Anders

Amazed at all the 'disappointment ' threads

That's not where the disappointment comes from. Tesla did great on the schedule and the car. It's the lack of specific technical details.
  46. James Anders

Amazed at all the 'disappointment ' threads

No. 1 hour on the main things would have been fine. I didn't care about the challenges of supply chain management. Every car manufacturer has that problem. We knew the basics. We wanted the specifics.
