Wiki Restricted UK Supercharger sites - parking restrictions / registering / pay to park etc

This now has a £5 for the first hour (with more for longer and there is a note on all stalls and the pay machine for Tesla drivers informing us of this) so it should be added to the table and flagged as red. Surely this is against the T&Cs with Tesla to introduce a cost?

    Is my tailgate motor knackered?

I have a 2018 M8 75D with extended warranty. The right-hand trunk/tailgate motor (I'm assuming it's a motor - the cylindrical part that pushes the tailgate open and pulls it closed) has started making a clicking/knocking/rattling sound when the tailgate is opening and closing. Does it need...

How do I get the power consumption displayed on the drivers little screen on my MS?

Used to have the power consumption displayed on the driver’s screen behind the steering wheel of my 2018 MS, but then the tyres got low in the cold and the tyre pressure warning appeared on the driver’s screen. Now I don’t know how to bring the consumption display back. How do I do that please?

Can anyone recommend a dashcam installer in Birmingham?

Simon from Holbon installed the Q800Pro for me today. Consummate professional. Obviously done it so many times that he can do it in his sleep.

Can anyone recommend a dashcam installer in Birmingham?

It misses a second or two every minute though. It seems there is a lag when the recording starts. Third party dashcams record constantly and overwrite when the card is full. Put a 64 or 128gig card in there and you have days of recording unless you’re driving constantly. There is usually a...

Can anyone recommend a dashcam installer in Birmingham?

I want someone experienced with Teslas as I’ve heard stories of dashcams being installed incorrectly and it invalidating Tesla warranties. I feel it’s a mistake to assume that Teslas are the same as other cars.

Can anyone recommend a dashcam installer in Birmingham?

Cameras which miss a second every minute, thereby making them unreliable for capturing incidents when you need them to. As I found out the first time I needed video. Huge disappointment. I’ve had a dashcam in my cars for 10 years and TeslaCam is not as good as an £80 Mobius dashcam. Anyway, can...

1 month of ownership of my first Tesla and I have these questions

Captain's log: supplemental. Just dropped my daughter off at Heathrow for her final year at university in the US, and boy was it a contrast from doing it in the Ioniq. In the Ioniq, it would have required a couple of longer stops in the journey (1 each way) with anxiety over charger...

1 month of ownership of my first Tesla and I have these questions

Based on your comment, I placed an order to install a Thinkware F770 but they cancelled the order and refunded me saying the last one in stock is incomplete. So now I'm looking around for a dashcam installer in Birmingham.

My experience buying n approved used Tesla from Birmingham

Yeah to be honest, I would rather they took their time and got better results. I told them this while I had the P100D :) The important aspect is communication. Better to under promise and over deliver. Tesla, I'm sensing, do the opposite too much.

1 month of ownership of my first Tesla and I have these questions

Yes that's what I've had to do previously. Add a road as a waypoint. Shouldn't need to, though. Alternatively, use Waze on my phone until we're far enough along the route that the Tesla is forced to use it.

My experience buying n approved used Tesla from Birmingham

I thought I’d share my experience of buying a used Model S from the Birmingham Tesla shop. Brief background. I bought a Hyundai Ioniq electric in 2017 and decided I wanted a Tesla so that I could enjoy charge-anxiety-free driving in a car with better performance. I had decided a long time ago...

I got the Samsung S7 as recommended in several places. Do some peoples' Tesla Cams write without gaps? I can always get something like https://www.amazon.co.uk/SanDisk-Extreme-Solid-State-Flash/dp/B01MU8TZRV/ref=sr_1_20

1 month of ownership of my first Tesla and I have these questions

Thanks for the replies and tips. Having watched Wham Bam TeslaCam and other Tesla related videos, I assumed that the TeslaCam was going to be better than the Thinkware F770 professionally installed in my outgoing Hyundai Ioniq electric. So yes, I'm disappointed that it's actually not as good...

1 month of ownership of my first Tesla and I have these questions

Love my MS 75D. I have four questions. Before I tweet @elonmusk, maybe you can help. Why are there gaps in all TeslaCam recordings? They miss important evidence. My first dashcam, an £80 Mobius, manages to record continuously. Buffer and extend the recordings if it's an issue with USB write...

Why is there a 2-3 second gap between TeslaCam recordings?

I'm using a Samsung T7 SSD (as recommended at a lot of places) in my 2018 Model S 75D. Each mp4 file is 59 seconds long and there is a 2 second difference in the time stamp file names of consecutive recordings. So there is roughly 2-3 seconds missing every 61-62 seconds. TeslaCam is a...

New Tesla model S owner here

Yes, I had the CCS upgrade added. I was told that the MCU had been upgraded to #2 though the car was registered August 2018, so maybe it was build and then there was a delay before registering? Don't know how it works. I like to have lots of storage on my dashcam so I can make videos, so I...

New Tesla model S owner here

Hello folks, so I took delivery yesterday of my 2018 S 75D in red. My first Tesla and it's awesome. A Tesla approved used vehicle, I'm a bit disappointed that none the things which the sales team agreed would be addressed (couple of paint issues and new headlights) were not done, and the car...

Has anyone had any difficulty getting warranty repairs on failed (or failing) 2018 Model S DLR Daylight Running Lights?

Oh how disappointing. They delivered the car today. Neither of the two paintwork issues that they promised to fix have been touched. And both DLRs are faulty, so they haven't changed the lights like the manager said the service department would. And they promised me that Tesla service was...

Has anyone had any difficulty getting warranty repairs on failed (or failing) 2018 Model S DLR Daylight Running Lights?

Just viewed it prior to software update, CCS upgrade and detailing. The car is in very good condition. Pointed out a dint in the tailgate, scraped paint on the bumper round the wing, couple of small chips in the windscreen. Scuffed kick plates, but these, they think are after market. They...

Has anyone had any difficulty getting warranty repairs on failed (or failing) 2018 Model S DLR Daylight Running Lights?

I paid a non refundable £200 deposit on the spot, so I'm not being given the option to view before purchase. More being able to ask for their service department to address any issues I have with it. They couldn't do anything with the price or offer free CCS, but they had to do a fair bit in...

Has anyone had any difficulty getting warranty repairs on failed (or failing) 2018 Model S DLR Daylight Running Lights?

To follow up, I bought one. I went to Tesla Birmingham to show them the headlight photos and ask whether they would be repaired under warranty. On the near side one, the answer was 100% yes. On the off side one, the answer was maybe, we'd have to have a look. Which I think is fair enough. Since...

Has anyone had any difficulty getting warranty repairs on failed (or failing) 2018 Model S DLR Daylight Running Lights?

There is no current owner. The car is in limbo. I guess this is normal because you never have a motor dealer being a registered keeper when a car is bought used and sold on.

Has anyone had any difficulty getting warranty repairs on failed (or failing) 2018 Model S DLR Daylight Running Lights?

Discussed that with the boss of the company. They were scathing about Tesla service. Basically the car is currently in the possession of Auto100, the motor dealer and until there is a new registered keeper, they said that Tesla would not deal with it. Auto100 also said that they are not...

Hoping to buy my first Tesla - a used Model S - what should I look out for?

I think their policy in this case is that if there is anything wrong with it, Tesla will sort it out under warranty. https://www.auto100.co.uk Can I take the car along to Tesla and ask for a full service and check? Is that a thing?

I'm about to buy a 2018 75D Model S and a portion of the near side DLR is failed and the off side has yellowing on the same portion The warranty expires in August (6 weeks). Will there be any problem getting both replaced? I don't want to buy the car unless I'm 100% sure that there won't be...

Hoping to buy my first Tesla - a used Model S - what should I look out for?

Thanks. What I hope to hear is a confident “they will be covered under standard warranty”. Because if there is any doubt, I’m taking a risk that I will have to shell out a lot of money. This dealer is online and doesn’t do test drives. I don’t think I will be able to do one.

Hoping to buy my first Tesla - a used Model S - what should I look out for?

Put a refundable £500 deposit on the 2018 Red 75D 31k miles so I could go view it at Auto100. I couldn't test drive it. There was no damp inside and all 4 door handles worked. However, the near side running light is faulty. Actually the offside one looks like it is dim and yellowing in the...

Hoping to buy my first Tesla - a used Model S - what should I look out for?

All supercharger and public DC rapid charging posts in the UK (and the rest of the world except the US) are CCS or CADdeMO (for a small number of EVs like the Nissan Leaf) so CCS charging capability is a requirement in the UK. It’s only America that has the proprietary Tesla charge port. Is it...

It doesn't have the CCS adapter installed. The one for sale in Birmingham does. I see the adapter is £200. I've had experience where short CCS cables can really pull hard on the CCS charge port. Do the adapters cope ok with the weight?

Its still in use and it’s done 53k miles, now, so no warranty. I’m told it’s in with Tesla now getting a memory upgrade. I don’t know what that means. Given that it has enhanced autopilot and subzero package, what do you reckon is a good price?

Odd, but on a 22 mile journey yesterday, I saw 2 model Ss. The first, a black 2017 P100D and the second, a blue 2018 75D. The same as I'm test driving. Except the colour, of course. I don't normally notice model Ss. Kind of feels like I'm meant to get this car.
