Is my tailgate motor knackered?

I have a 2018 M8 75D with extended warranty. The right-hand trunk/tailgate motor (I'm assuming it's a motor - the cylindrical part that pushes the tailgate open and pulls it closed) has started making a clicking/knocking/rattling sound when the tailgate is opening and closing.
Does it need replacing? The left one is silent.

Probably. If it still has warranty then get it booked in. It’s unlikely that they can adjust it out but not entirely impossible.
