Do you hand wash or car wash your Tesla?

I have 3 ceramic sprays I have tried so far. My first was Meguiar's Hybrid Ceramic Detailer - I've used it for a couple of years and it is a great drying aid that adds a good amount of protection and slickness My second is Turtle Wax Hybrid Solutions Ceramic Spray Coating - this seems to have...

Do you hand wash or car wash your Tesla?

I do things a little different than has been listed. Step 1: Spray car with foam gun and garden hose. I use either a good foaming car soap, or foaming DIY Detail Rinseless - let it dwell for a few minutes Step 2: Rinse off the car with water Step 3a: Spray car again with rinse-less in my foam...

Intermittent wipers stopped working on 2018 Model S with stalks

We are having the same issues - hopefully it gets solved soon, now that it is raining in California maybe one of the Tesla engineers will notice the issues...and get it pushed up the ladder for a fix.

Model X Falcon Wing Doors Rubbing Paint Off

We have this issue as well on our new to us 2017 Model X. I have some helicopter tape I am planning to put on the areas to protect it - it is a bit tougher and thicker than PPF - so it should last a bit longer... I was going to check with mobile service the next time we have any work done on...

Discussion: Model 3 Price reductions - Jan / April / Oct 2023 and all other pricing discussions

We bought a used Tesla Inventory Model 3 just a year ago. At that time it was cheaper than trying to get a new LEAF or a Kia EV6 surprisingly. At that moment we were pretty happy getting a good quality used Model 3 for around $40k... All of the used Model 3 cars Tesla was offering last year had...

    Tesla Low Trade in Offer

I would be wary of CarBuyerUSA - we attempted to sell our 2018 Nissan LEAF to them last year. Initially, they offered a great price on their site. When we said we wanted to go with it they lowered their price before sending out a independent inspector - after inspection they offered an even...

Discussion: Model 3 Price reductions - Jan / April / Oct 2023 and all other pricing discussions

We just bit the bullet and purchased a new Inventory RWD Model 3 this morning. Pickup is on Tuesday. #37,120 selling price. Minus $500 referral. We are transferring our FSD from our 2019 Model 3. The incremental upgrade is fairly low all things considered. We bought our 2019 at close to the...

Well - the green is very vibrant, and green is my favorite color. Are you still looking at selling...I would almost (almost) be interested at the 46K range???

2022.36 — Official Release Notes and Discussion

This version seems to have corrected itself yesterday - Things seemed to correct a bit by yesterday on the 2022.36.6 - but it still seemed off in a few areas. Decided to upgrade to 2022.40.4 and it seems to be much better now!

    Safety Score Disappeared

I lost my safety score when I upgraded to 2022.36.6 over the weekend - I went ahead and upgraded to 2022.40.4 last night and the Safety Score section is now back - but all of the safety score data is gone...so we are back to square one.

2022.36 — Official Release Notes and Discussion

We have almost the same issue - everything was reset - no safety score - says our region doesn't support AutoPilot - all custom settings are gone... We don't have homelink so that isn't a problem for us. When it came back online after the update it had our location as Tesla Palo Alto...

Choosing PG&E Rate Plan (Solar with Storage)

I went through this with a lot of help from the users here - I have a smaller 4kw solar setup and only 1 power wall. I decided to go with E-TOU-C as it is a better match for our usage and our ability to avoid any peak charges.

Question About Excess Power During Outage Going to EV

I don't think I can add another 14-50 plug to the backed up side - I am pretty maxed out on the main panel at this point - and the single power wall is backing up our main home sub panel and a few extra plugs and lights in the garage. I think I will have to use the 120V plug and see how it...

Question About Excess Power During Outage Going to EV

We just got a Tesla M3 to replace our 2018 LEAF. We have a single Powerwall and 4kW Solar. Our current car charger is a 14-50 Open EVSE that is not part of the backed up circuits that the Powerwall will power... Which brings me to my question that I thought the experts here could help me better...

Model 3 resell values have plummeted.

We had a similar experience recently. This summer while EV car shopping we priced out our 218 LEAF and it was getting quotes as high as $25k - we bought it used in 2020 for $18k... We finally settled on a used Model 3 - from Tesla's used car sales - and picked it up a couple of weeks ago...

Someone talk me out of a Tesla sourced Used/Preowned M3

Car picked up yesterday (Saturday in Colma). Condition: Good To Excellent - I would rate it a 9+ There are a few nicks, a few very minor scratches and a few tiny dings. The sport wheels look like they were re-touched at some point and there is a minor scratch on one rim. There was a loose...

Someone talk me out of a Tesla sourced Used/Preowned M3

Perhaps being closer to Fremont helps? Plus, a ton of cars were stationed in Lathrop which is less than 2hrs away - which would be quick to move the cars as well.

Someone talk me out of a Tesla sourced Used/Preowned M3

We thought about waiting until 2023 as well based on the potential tax rebates - however the EAP/FSD upgrade was the tipping point for us deciding on the CPO route.

Someone talk me out of a Tesla sourced Used/Preowned M3

Well, we have pulled the trigger... Ordered a 2019 SR+ - now just waiting for a pickup notice - hopefully by this weekend. Thanks for the details everyone, and wish us luck on getting a good car!

Someone talk me out of a Tesla sourced Used/Preowned M3

I can stretch things a little. A new car doesn't quite compare as far as AP features, since Tesla is(was) adding FSD to the preowned cars they are selling (free for them). If I were to build a similar spec new version it would be: $47k no EAP no FSD $53k w/EAP $62k w/FSD Now I don't think I...

Someone talk me out of a Tesla sourced Used/Preowned M3

We have been looking at some used Tesla Model S cars and decided they were a little too big for our needs. We are now thinking about the Model 3. Based on prices it seems like the Telsa Preowned cars are a decent deal (assuming the condition is good at pick up). The Model 3 will be replacing...

    Understanding PGE/SVCE electricity bills/TrueUP

E-TOU-C it is then (and the Baseline part wasn't too clear to me, nothing on my CCA website talks about the Baseline part of the rates and if they matched PG&E). Thanks for the help!

    Understanding PGE/SVCE electricity bills/TrueUP

Thanks for the response Redhill... My CCA has the same rates for E-TOU-C and E-TOU-D - peak and off peak are the same on each plan. I do see that the peak period is shorter on E-TOU-D - which, IF I can produce some extra solar and export with the PowerWall for the rest of the peak time, then...

    Understanding PGE/SVCE electricity bills/TrueUP

I think you are right - I was thinking it was at the end of 2022 - but looking at PG&E it seems like I should now be at the 4-9pm peak time slot. That makes me think I might be better switching to EV-2A (edit: or even the E-TOU-D since it has a shorter peak time duration of only 3 hrs that I...

    Understanding PGE/SVCE electricity bills/TrueUP

Thanks Redhill I have seen the first chart you posted as well - that is kind of my baseline I don't think I can get on the flat rate plan (that was an option only up until October 2021)

    Understanding PGE/SVCE electricity bills/TrueUP

Thanks, I mixed up a few of the terms I think... The CCCE "Generation Charges" are the rates I have a nice chart of... SUMMER PEAK $0.19500 SUMMER PART‐PEAK $0.10100 SUMMER OFF‐PEAK $0.08600 I calculated the PG&E part I need to add as around $.21 for all the time periods...but I don't think...

    Understanding PGE/SVCE electricity bills/TrueUP

I have been trying to figure out my CCA rates compared to PG&E for a few months. We are on Central Coast Community Energy here in the Monterey Bay area... I am not sure I understand the rates correctly - but comparing things I think I have to add the generation and delivery charges to the CCA...
