    Show off your aftermarket wheels.

Any chance you are hearing the hum from the noise cancelling speakers in the headrest, probably the 'white noise' emitted by the speakers or during it's calibration process. There are times, when I like to ride in quiet without any music, I would hear a silent hum similar to an ocean wave, and...

    Show off your aftermarket wheels.

I have been debating going 20s for a more 'balanced' look, but you are convincing me to keep 19s. I do like the overall ride quality of the 19s.

    Model S Software/Firmware wishlist

I didn’t know you could until about a few months into owning it by accident. Even a Tesla SC member was surprised you could do it. But I am glad some one at Tesla actually thought ‘This is the way’

You can swipe the left edge of the screen (left to right) to bring up the car controls as well instead of hitting the car icon.

10 Reasons You Should Never Buy An EV (says MSN)

LOL. Typical Anti BEV/antiquated arguments. The only real point here is towing but this can easily apply to ICE/Hybrids as well as subscriptions. As if ICE engines do not degrade over time and loose their max HP !

How long did it take you to get used to the stalk-less turn signals?

As much as I hate to admit it, after owning my Model S for close to 2 years now, I am actually starting to like the whole 'stalkless' design. I like the whole no-cluster driving thing that Tesla was going for (though that was just an excuse to cut cost). The only time I miss the stalks, is...

    Model S Software/Firmware wishlist

Here are some things I would like to see, UI Based Improvements 1. Increase the icon size of the bottom task/function bar. 2. A second persistent task/control bar where we could add common functionality (Fog light, Suspenion, Steering, etc) or enable the option to add more vehicle functionality...

J1772 lock adapter for new battery door for 2023 Model S

Curious to know what is the issue you are having. I ordered this off of Amazon and use that with the Tesla J1772 Adaptor for my Model S. https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B0B4BZQRG2/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1

Model S Shows Its True Colors (Photos)

For everything I have gripes about the Model S, one thing I have always admired about this car is how good it looks.

A week with "High Fidelity Parking Assist"

Your demo shows a better implementation of High Fidelity Park Assist than what I had expected it would be. Hopefully they would bring this to the USS vehicles soon, and use this to improve summon and smart summon.

New AutoPilot is horrible after update

The last update (Christmas Update) definitely nerfed AP and EAP. After getting the update I noticed AP would not engage with the first try and would always have to try and engage it 2 - 3 times before it would activate. And most often kept getting the 'Auto Steer unable to activate' message...

Summon out of the garage and more

I never knew about the key fob and tried it today but could not get it to work. Is there any extra setup to get the key fob to work for summon ?

Summon out of the garage and more

TBH, not sure what else could be the issue. My S pulls all the way upto the front entrance of my garage and then stops. I have tried all the configuration options I can think of in the Summon settings and it will not budge past my garage entrance. The only thing I can summise is that the car...

Summon out of the garage and more

I have never been able to summon my car completely out of my garage either, since I bought the car last year. My garage has a small lip with slightly sloped driveway, which I believe is throwing summon offf. Because the car pull up all the way to the edge of my garage and then completely stops...

Can you move the car control menu icon?

You can swipe the left edge of the screen left - right and it would bring up the control menu as well. This should help accessing the control menu much easier.

How long did it take you to get used to the stalk-less turn signals?

When I first got the yoke, I had those silicon dot stickers on the turn signals. And they significantly improved the usability of the turn signals, where I can hit the button every time when I wanted to without looking. After I got the steering wheel I didn't put the sticker immediately and I...

Dreaded MSLR 2023 Rear Most Left Passenger Seat Rattle

Most of the rattling can be isolated to the locking mechanism latch that is used for the folding of the rear seats. Tesla used a soft/cloth based tape and wrapped it around the latch to prevent any of the loose rattling for me.

Front License Plate Holder on refreshed Model S

Or wait until it comes off on its own once water, salt, and gunk gets through the adhesive like mine when the holder with the plate completely came off while on the highway and had to spend money on one of these. It's like you are always spending money on little things that Tesla gets wrong to...

    20" Wheel Fitment and Setups

Thanks. Wasn't able to get to that page. Checked a couple of shops and no one is carrying it or will require special order. I am going to stick to the stock tires and consider 20s for next year, hopefully there is more inventory and options. How is the noise and efficiency of these tires ?

    20" Wheel Fitment and Setups

Thanks for the recommendation. Curious did Continental get you the size you needed through your work partners or they have these as standard offering, because I could not find any 20 or 21s for those 5Ps ?

    20" Wheel Fitment and Setups

Decided to stick with the stock 19s until next year. I don't know if it's a Canadian issue or a global issue, but I was having a hard time finidng the type of wheels and tires (All-Seasons which are EV rated) in the size I wanted. Either no one had the tires/sizes or they have to get it...

    Toyo Proxies / Kal Tire

Most of these big box/chain tire stores (Kal, Active Green, etc) will not do anything outside of standard like for like OEM recommended work. They will always pull BS like safety to make an excuse. But mostly it's to upsell or limit their own liability from installing non-OEM recommended work...

    Car washes in the GTA?

The body panels and paint on the Tesla are bad enough that even a touchless will generate scratches. Unless you wrap it in bubble wrap your Tesla will get more scratches than most other cars. So I barely scrutinize any body panel scratches on the car after a wash. But from a wash perspective...

    Car washes in the GTA?

I have been using AutoSpa on Appleby and Mainway and like them. They are not touchless but the wash is really good and you get a good thorugh wash. They also have self wash stations as well. I use Shell touchless during winters just to get grime out, but for a good clean wash AutoSpa is good.

2022 Model S: High Beams and Auto-Locking Questions

@Mr. Jetson Not sure if you figured this out or not, but in order to get the high beam to stay on you will need to 1. Turn off auto high beam and auto head/low beam light, 2. Turn on low beam headlight 3. Then when you press and hold the high beam the counter will show up and the high beam...

Seeking Advice on 4K Dashcam Setup for 2015 Model S - Cross-Country Trip

Agree with @beatle. When it comes to dash cams there is no such a thing as 4K, 2K or even FHD. Most of these dash cams are 480p at best, even the expensive so called premium brands (Blackvue, Thinkware). I used to have a Thinkware 2K dual channel one and the video quality was no where near the...

    EV-specific tires

Any one running these EV specific tires or have used them comment if they are worth the extra cost. I am considering going EV specific tires, mainly for road noise, but these tires are quite a bit more expensive than the standard ones.

Who's getting the normal steering wheel?

Yeah, the car is far more enjoyable to drive now, more so than I did with the yoke. I actually want to drive the car now. The one downside I am having to deal with the steering is that, I am driving the car a bit more spirited compared to before when I just cared to cruise, so I was more...

Who's getting the normal steering wheel?

This is exactly what I did and still seem to do most of the time. But I am getting used to the buttons. I used to have the small silicon sticker for the buttons on the yoke, but now with the steering I feel my muscle memory is hitting the buttons almost perfectly for the indicators. The tech...

Range Discrepancy - Trip Computer vs Energy App

The range tips are more about the overall range impact. But you make a good point about speed and headwind impacting “driving” range, and it’s not just drivetrain losses.
  35. rraj2k81

Range Discrepancy - Trip Computer vs Energy App

Yeah I understand all the elements that impact range, which is why I am looking at just the 'Driving' portion of the energy app and what the difference pertains to. If the difference is indeed drivetrain losses, then I find it interesting that drivetrain losses amount to 15%. Don't know if...

Range Discrepancy - Trip Computer vs Energy App

Hey Folks, I am wondering if someone could explain the range discrepancy between the trip computer and the energy app. As you can see the trip computer says I have done 246km since I last charged, but the energy app says 286km was used for driving. Can some one explain this discrepancy ...

Who's getting the normal steering wheel?

Yeah I am guessing the tech who did the work did not complete all the work for those who did not get their visuals updated. My tech spent a good 45 mins when he did the work. Also, if I remember correct, I didn't notice the visual updates until the next day. When I took the car for a spin...

Who's getting the normal steering wheel?

I had all visuals including the HVAC visuals were updated to the wheel, including the AP nag which used to refer yoke, now it says wheel.

    Steering Wheel / Yoke option

No, nothing on the driver display or the main display were changed to accommodate the new steering. Just the yoke references.
  41. rraj2k81

    Steering Wheel / Yoke option

Yep. Every reference to the yoke has been changed to the wheel, including the AP nag which used to say yoke now says wheel.

Who's getting the normal steering wheel?

It's my picture. It's distorting the proportions because I had to use the wide angle lens. But your picture depicts the thickness better. It is not as thick as mine shows.

    Steering Wheel / Yoke option

The one complaint I have is, though the steering wheel material feels better than the yoke, it is way too smooth compared to the yoke. It almost feels like Alcantara leather.

    Steering Wheel / Yoke option

FYI, all my yoke icons and yoke wording have all been updated to the wheel.

    Steering Wheel / Yoke option

Original plan was to see if there is demand in the second hand market. But since there is no airbag and the steering airbag is not interchangeable not sure if there would be interest in the resale market. Will see. I might end up holding onto it, to retain resale value. I haven't done a...

    Steering Wheel / Yoke option

Here it is finally ! This car was missing a proper steering. The driving dynamics have significantly improved. The car feels more nimble and responsive. Driving feels more natural now, and instinctively I go for the indicator stalk ! I got my yoke back, but due to 'liability' they took the...
