My understanding is that when Tesla has been awarded NEVI grants that they have been superchargers with magic docks to comply with the CCS requirement. So I would expect that this grant will be either upgrades to the existing superchargers or new capacity with magic docks.

It appears this site may be getting some eventual upgrades. It was awarded a NEVI award from the state. (Both EB and WB are listed - link and picture are of WB)

@corywright @Big Earl Appears this site can be officially marked as being under construction. Despite Marco’s last report above - it appears the originally reported site is where construction is happening.

@ItsNotAboutTheMoney - just curious - you list 5 gaps of 150+ miles on interstates. However, the updated list on this thread seems to only list 3. Curious what the other two are?

@corywright I found the permit for this site and it appears there will be 12 stalls. Permit was approved on 11/6/24.

Not surprising since it isn't in the app yet. However, I did just check my in-car navigation and it does not list this site either yet. I'm in-state - so interested in this site - but unfortunately am not close enough to actually go by this location and check.

My wife took someone to the airport on Monday and stopped by this location. She said there were still no signs of construction at that point.

The electrical permit (which has shortly proceeded the construction on the other recent Indy superchargers) was issued on 10/17. Also - just a note that it appears the same contractor is doing this site that did the sites in Nora (Indy North) and the downtown site that opened yesterday.

My apologies. I’ve been following this one from afar and did not realize there was an older site on the same road.

It appears commissioning has at least partially begun. 6 are showing in the app but all are listed as out of order.

I have no proof that construction has happened; however, the permit for the site lists that the final inspection should have happened today. For reference, the Indy North location opened 5 days after this inspection.

The app is now showing 23 live stalls. I can check in-car nav in a bit.

I drove by this spot again today. No sign of anything. I’m starting to wonder if this site has been abandoned at this point. Especially with the Nora location almost complete and the fact this site is 5 minutes from the existing site at Meijer.

Getting very close. Fencing is down and one of the two meters is placed. Not sure if the placed meter is for the superchargers or the two non-Tesla chargers on the end.

I wish I had gotten pictures - but we charged here today and things looked much closer than the previous picture. (Sorry I’m not more specific - I was dealing with a 2 year old and newborn)

Just a few cosmetic things to go. Tesla signage still needs put up and there is one light pole not currently placed and laying behind the stations. But they have repainted/tarred the new parking spots and everything else looks done. As an aside - the existing spots could really use some TLC...

It appears this site is still awaiting permits due to it being in a flood zone. The drainage permit has had some activity and on 8/18 the placed a notice that appears to signal that the permit is awaiting final building plans. The attached documents show that plans have been updated before that...

Let’s get back to focusing on the supercharger. No need to be fighting about the area on this forum.

Stopped tonight and got some updated pictures. The fencing is down and things appear close. There still appears to be work to be done between the pre-fab sets.

The permit is still pending on this. Based on there being 5 holds for various sub-permits, I would guess construction is still going to be a while.

The permit for this site was official signed off on on June 26 - so hopefully construction will start soon.

I was in the area and knew that it had been stated that construction might begin sometime this month. No signs of construction or any preparations yet as of today. The permitted area is the third parking lot row ending in the distance.

Per Marco, permits have been filed for a new 12-stall supercharger at the gas station in front of the Indianapolis Airport on the entrance loop.

I am not close enough to try, but this site is now showing in the app as available.

Thanks. I was aware that it was listed on supercharge.info due to the permit listed on the thread here. I just wanted to confirm since this site hadn’t seen any updates in months and had been removed from the Tesla site. Thanks for the clarification!

@andy mattingly Are these bids for this location in Nora or the location tracked by the thread for Carmel on N Illinois? This Nora location had been removed from the Tesla website and only the N Illinois location had been marked there for a few months.

Not firm proof - but the Find Us page is actually now showing this site as being live.

I was at the Buc-ee’s today and there was no sign of any construction ongoing or being prepared.

It actually appears that these are now online. I didn’t get to test myself as the Tesla employees were still there when I needed to leave. However, the lights all came on as they finished commissioning and the chargers slowly started showing as “available” on the mobile app. We also watched the...
