Install on my P85 in Australia. Nothing new in release notes.

Tesla Model S Constant High Pitched Buzzing Noise

I have it as well but only when car charged at 100% (or close to it). Started happening about 6 weeks ago (about two releases ago). I've assumed something to do with thermal management when 100% battery charge. Dec 2014 Model S P85.

How much do you charge from solar in Australia?

Nice! What App is tracking your use and generation?
  4. MangroveMike

How much do you charge from solar in Australia?

I've only charged from solar for the last month. Slightly more effort in timing and added a wall charger in at work - but I love the concept.

    Software Update 2018.21.9 75bdbc11

I thought it was just me. Every time I take it to service centre (160kms away) it goes quiet.

Nice. Tesla can pull out all stops when they really want to. Just need Keith and my 4000kms in 4 days adventure is back on track.

    TOCA Membership

"Unfettered democratic process" means any member can put a proposal to the AGM and it has to then be voted. This is what has been done. Since you are no longer a member I guess you can't be part of that process.

Let us know a timeframe when you are settled and we'll have a lunch or coffee catchup. Sounds great!

    Supercharger - Heatherbrae NSW

They only have two of the tyre barriers that stop the car reversing into the super chargers. Too much risk that they weren't prepared to take. Fair enough I reckon. Definitely is opened, I charged last night and others have already today.

Fortunately, I also have the Wetlands Charger if I get stuck. Also I can do Port Macquarie SC in a pinch if I need to make it back.

    Supercharger - Heatherbrae NSW

Awesome updates @NovoCasGreeny - thanks. I have to drive there specifically to check it out (which is always fun in a Tesla).

No Tesla logos. I'm not sure about your two week time frame @Sluggabed . Still looks like a lot of work to do.

    Supercharger - Heatherbrae NSW

Well, that explains why I got a comment today about Wests having Tesla chargers - I thought only we knew ;-) It was from a group of mechanics who were checking my car out today while I was waiting to pickup my daughter from school. They were super-interested in the technology and no fear about...

    SYD - BNE Supercharger Route

I can check it but do not expect to see much yet - if all my intel is correct it depends on a dinosaur juice servo being built.

    Anticlockwise Adventure!

Awesome trip @RichardMcN . The pioneer spirit is alive! If you use the bus to tow the Tesla in drive you could use regen to charge the battery :-) (The physics & maths doesn't align, but hey).

    Frunk/Froot problem

When I compared my car (Dec 2014) to Dainis's newer P85D (Dec 2015) at the Hunter Valley EV Festival I noticed that his doesn't have the double latches like ours. Just the bigger front one. So it may not happen with newer cars although does that mean that ours have extra safety with the double...

    Hunter Valley EV Festival

It was lots of fun - sorry we didn't catch up @NovoCasGreeny . Track-time with Dainis with his P85D and mine was a heap of fun and we both talked our heads off all day. I did grab some video from my Tesla Dashcam so I'll clean it up and post it here with a few photos.

Has Autopark ever scuffed your rims?

After 18 months of perfect rims, about 4 weeks ago autopark scuffed my front left quite badly :-( It reversed in OK but then when going forward it steered straight into the gutter. Nice high square gutter - not happy Jan. I've lost my confidence in it - also I only used it as a party trick...

    Hunter Valley EV Festival

The Hunter Valley EV Festival is on this weekend at Cameron Park on the outskirts of Newcastle. It is organised by the Tom Farrell Institute at the University of Newcastle. I've been to the last couple (last year my car was on display with @Dborn) and there have been plenty of cool things on...

2285 Pacific Highway Heatherbrae will be the location of the Newcastle Supercharger. Inside info from a electrical authority friend - it will be within a new to be built Puma Petrol Station!

Road Trip Take 3 - yaaaaaaah - Melbourne to Darwin

Dual all the way @alpal - I did get mine with duals and the quick-charge advantage is great when on a trip. I also expect we will see more and more third party chargers at 32A 3 phase so it will help on any trip.

I wonder if we will see more CHAdeMO now that BMW and Nissan are rolling out stations in the US with it.

Sydney to Port Macquarie & beyond in a P85D

Use EV Trip Planner and play around with the figures especially the speed multiple. 125 uses heaps more juice than 100.

    Australian Supercharger Rally SYD-MEL MEL-SYD

Great story ZTrekus. It was a great day and I agree completely about the Auto Pilot. It is a wonderful thing! I did over 1000kms yesterday and arrived home tired due to the late hour but not the driving. Absolutely brilliant. It was also great to meet up with other Tesla owners.

New member brucesurf has a question about charging

*sigh* Not denigrating, just setting the comment into context - melocomm's comment was about 3 phase - NOT 16AMP 3 phase, that's your addition.
