If you don't set a destination, doesn't FSD act similarly to Autopilot? When I activate FSD on a limited access highway, it performs just like Autopilot, except, if traffic slows in my lane, it does a lane change on its own. Otherwise, I see no difference between Autopilot and FSD.

I saw a lot of traffic cones on the visualization today. I don't knkw if I passed any garbage cans; didn't notice any.

I also think the visualizations add to safety. I can see the cars all around me including the blind spots. If you activate a turn signal when a car is about to enter the blind spot, the image of the approaching car turns red to warn you. I think this feature is so good that I have deactivated...

Yes, it will. The car sometimes is too fast, in some situations, for me too. You can try putting the car in chill and the FSD on the less aggressive setting and see what happens.

Totally agree, The trial FSD visualization almost appears to be an overhead view and I can see cars all around me. I like it better than the blind spot camera view feature; may even turn it off so as not to distract me.

I was not aware that Auto Park was included. How is that activated?

I was under the impression that 8.7 was going to Europe and that 3.10 had the FSD trial and was going out to cars in North America.

I get the impression from this thread that all Tesla owners are getting a free trial of FSD with this update whether they requested it or not. Is this the case?

I forgot to add that I was using TACC when this was happening. I tried signaling many times but no camera views appeared. When I turned off the emergency flashers, camera views resumed; everything was back to normal.

In my experience, the blinker stays on if there is a painted left turn arrow on the pavement.

You can apply the emergency brake, while the car is moving, by pushing in and holding the button on the end of the shifter.

I believe that is the collision avoidance. It happened to me once while changing lanes. The alarm went off and my car actually pulled itself back into my lane. I was thinking more of an audiblle warning that would sound if your turn signal was on and a car was in the blind spot; the same way...

The red blind spot warning on the camera view is an improvement but it needs an audible warning tone so it would not be necessay to look at the screen.

I know matrix high beam headlights add or decrease light depending on the presence or absence of other vehicles. Does this mean that they can be left on and that normal low beam headlight use will no longer be needed?

I've always gently pressed the stalks on all the cars I have driven; just the natural way I do it and never gave it any thought. I must say that the soft press and rebound of the M3 stalk is very nice and has a quality feel to it.

Reminds me of the issues with unfamiiar passengers attempting to open the door for the first time. I have to run around to the other side of the car to show them how and then instruct them about using the button to exit.

Keeping the car awake if the 12v battery is failing. I haven't been seeing stories of stranded drivers lately so I assume this fix is working well.

Not to mention starters. We have electric motors in our cars that will last hundreds of thousands of miles; but starters ( electric motors ) that die after a few years.

I don't get into the complicated stuff much. All I know is that my car indicates about 176 - 177 or so miles on my daily charge to 50%. Double that for 352 - 354 miles at 100%; if that kind of a calculation is even valid, I don't know. Most of the time I just drive the car and enjoy it.

Isn't plugging in the start of a charge session, cold battery or not? I thought idle fees start when you fail to unplug 1 minute after charging.

I hate when that happens. My old Ford has hit more than a few such craters and has survived every one of them. I never thought about weakened tires. They survived the hits and continued until they were worn out.

If the battery is fully preheated enroute to a Supercharger, what is the average percentage of time one can expect to save while charging from 20% to 80% ? I know that many factors are involved such as 150 vs 250 vs 300, weather and such.

I charge using level 1 every day the car is used after my short local driving. The car sometimes sits in the garage with Sentry on and charging. I do not see any difference when charging with Sentry on or off. However, I have tried charging with Sentry off but with the heat turned on and the car...

That was my post. That was my post from last July. Those shortcuts are handy but I only wish that Tesla would make them alot larger. It is easy to mistakenly choose the wrong one when they are so tiny.

Sometimes I hear a thunk noise when I close the driver door. I discovered that it was the rear windows dropping down slightly. This behsvior causes no problems. Just wondering if anyone has experienced the same. I do remember something similar mentioned in one of the software updates.

Same here. The cameras should be visible all of the time and flash a warning like WAZE . I would imagine thatTesla will do that eventually.

I wonder what would happen if there was an option to order a car with stalks or no stalks? What would the ratio look like?

Even as I drive by multiple red light camera locations on Long Island, I have yet to see a single one indicated on the map.

I had a stalk actually break off and hang from the wiring on an older Ford Taurus. Mechanic said it was a Chinese made, after market replacement part and replaced it with a Ford part that was made in Mexico.

Thanks for adding to my understanding of all of this. Yes, we are well connected here, even have Tesla superchargers 2 miles from my home plus 4 or 5 others not much further away and 2 Tesla service centers 10 and 15 miles away. But, I did find a dead zone nearby in the middke of all this...

I thought that we were getting that feaure in the U.S. but all I see are traffic light and sto sign locations, no speed cameras or red light cameras.

I don't know much about these systems so excuse me for my basic qhestions Where does GPS fit in with Tesla or does it at all?

Thanks for your detailed explanation. When you are not navagating to a destination, does the map continue to show the main roads and the car's location?

Is navigation affected when driving through areas that have poor or no cellular coverage?
