Gen 2 wall charger recording watts supplied

Not sure what the Gen 2 can do, but a Gen 3 added to the Tesla app will give you something like the the following. (Some of the times are lengthy as I often have it at half speed to match the solar array)

Actual wall kw to km rate

Earlier, you mentioned the typical speed you drive at. Drag consumes much more energy at higher speeds (it is a velocity cubed factor). The difference in energy consumption between, say, 110 and 115 can actually be seen in the statistics provided by my M3. (A lot of reported statistics include...

    Tesla Software updates - Australia

My route on Friday started in Tamworth and ended in CBR. Much the same observations as doggy, but did have a few "Poor visibility, speed has been reduced" warnings, variously on the New England, Pacific and Hume sections, when the fairly constant rain intensified a bit or the trucks threw up too...

    Recommendations sought re: charging networks

Oh, and the Superchargers here have two charging cables (a la Europe). When you pull up to your first Oz supercharger, you will stare at them just like a first time owner here, and try to figure out which to use. You want the the bulkier looking one.

    Superchargers in Australia

The voting map appears to omit: 1. the existing Yass site 2. The existing second CBR site 3. The existing second Port Macquarie site (There are probably others) This gives a false impression of where the "gaps" are. As discussed on the Mildura thread, there are several potential infill sites to...

    Tesla Software updates - Australia

Given that it will briefly show the above ground traffic light stop lines (if enabled) when in the tunnel, that seems a reasonable conclusion. Note that your Navigation version is probably AU-2023.32 and I don't think the tunnel was open by that week.

    Evie EV charging networks

That's a wide fringe... Sutton Forest is about halfway between SYD and CBR.

    Supercharger - Mildura, Vic

Need more though. Hay - Mildura is 300 km. Hay - Wagga is 275 km. Really only leaves Balranald and Narrandera as likely infill on the NSW Sturt, with Balranald the key. Narrandera would be helpful medium term as it is the junction of the Sturt and Newell (so provides a two-fer) even though it...

    Superchargers in Australia

Heatherbrae on Sunday had queueing. We arrived and were 7th in line. There were two guys from a traffic management company recording arrivals and then advising who was next to a charger. Quite civilised, but more chargers and shorter waits would have been nice. Charged on AC at my father's house...

    Supercharger - Yass, NSW

We dropped in for a quick charge recently on a warm Sunday afternoon. Several cars charging. A young family wandered back with ice creams and sat on the shaded bench in the bus stop waiting for the charge to complete.

Sydney to the Southern Highlands questions

As you indicated that the "fuel" cost is a consideration, note that charging at home can be considerably cheaper. With a Supercharger cost of, say 70c/kwh, it is going to be much more expensive than home charging. (For example, My home charging is 22c/kwh, so slightly less than 1/3 the cost!)...

Yes, the car slows down automatically. It also currently requires explicit acknowledgement that it should proceed into the roundabout. Note my earlier distinction about enabled options.

    1 July Discounted Price

I find that my M3 (Traffic Light and Stop Sign Control enabled) does control the speed around the roundabout, although it can "hesitate a little" just after exiting. Speed bumps, on the other hand, it doesn't have a clue...

    Tesla Software updates - Australia

At least we are the same as Europe (50Hz) and not some unique frequency whereas FSD is currently in North America (60Hz). Differences like this will likely impact what the cameras can detect and make the FSD rollout to the rest of the world harder. Of course, they currently have the cameras able...

    Supercharger - Gundagai NSW

Or make the holiday arrangements permanent. The holiday arrangements prevent southbound using the south entrance by using lots of witches hats. It also means the right turn out of the north entrance is not allowed. These actions prevents the "crossovers' which increase the cognitive load on the...

    Full Self Drive In Australia

Perhaps the discrepancy here is the definition of "phantom braking". I have experienced what I would call "accelerator off" at multiple times in 10000km for no apparent reason (i.e. a speed drop of 5-10km/h). I have had one memorable "sudden 20km/h" drop while passing a truck in rain on the...

    Full Self Driving in Australia

We don't actually have FSD. Currently, it is restricted to North America. We do have some of the subfeatures, such as "Traffic Light and Stop Sign Control" as you observed. Over the past year it has become better at automatically proceeding through green lights when there are vehicles ahead in...

Model 3 RWD 2022 Efficiency - Canberra to Sydney

I have managed 8900 km in the 360 days of ownership. (M3SR+ in CBR). After about 3 months, I believe I was getting useful indicative information, but the relatively recent improvements to the energy app have made things more obvious. Initially, you will probably accelerate more quickly than you...

Model 3 RWD 2022 Efficiency - Canberra to Sydney

"Use the statistics, Luke" You will get much better information by using the "Energy" app. It's on the bottom of the screen. It has a little icon that looks like a line graph. It will tell you what each subsystem (driving, climate, elevation) consumed. It will also give Wh/km (the EV...

The portion of the Hume between Berrima and Albury is classed as a "rural motorway" (as it has at-grade intersections, driveways, etc). When driving south from Sydney you will see the "End Expressway" sign where it changes from "urban motorway" to "rural motorway". The rest of the world...
