    Uk enhanced autopilot changed??

Ain’t seen no one driving with gloves over here. Canadians though, dunno, they’re a bit strange.

    Uk enhanced autopilot changed??

My experience is I occasionally see the look at the road warning if I engage AP while looking at something else, but as soon as I’ve looked at the road to make it happy I can’t get the warning again even if I try.

Tesla Model Y - have I made a huge mistake

I too receive pressure warnings from wheels off the car having tyres swapped, so they are definitely triggered by a rapid differential not necessarily with motion. Don't you folks back home get breakdown service thrown in with your fully comp insurance these days?

    UK FSD Discussion

Hmmm interesting. The youtube video going over this document, that seemed detailed and well studied, clearly states all system-initiated manoeuvres will have to be driver-confirmed. But I've looked in the document and can't see this anywhere - I think he's mistaken. I do note that specific...

    Parking sensor detecting non-existent object

What's the plan to deal with it? Negotiate with the spider to only come out when you're parked maybe? Spiders have rights too! This is his home now.

    Tesla Idle on long holiday

Since it'll be Stavanger which already burnt down a few years ago, I'd hope the new one has sprinklers now, but you never know. :)

    Tesla Idle on long holiday

Nice info, thanks. So, similarly, I shouldn't have any worries leaving the car in an airport carpark for a month? Just leave it on about 70%, sentry off (is anyway), don't check in on the app every day. Main battery would keep 12V topped up as/if required? And I'll come back and it'll probably...

    Inaccurate temperature readings

Minor update. So I had a mobile visit. Pushed some firmware and did a regular update. Didn't fix it - e.g. the other day 5 degrees out, car reading -4. Next drive seemed accurate. Going in next week, work order says Active Grille Shutter (Remove & Replace) Thermal System Test Adjustment...

    So… Highland is out…

Hmmm how to make this even simpler... if I cancel Netflix, but sign up to Disney and Amazon, cancelling Netflix still saved me money! :) Arguably, the fact extra new stuff needed 'funding' makes it even more likely the motivation for removing stalks was to offset cost.

    Matrix headlights - finally???

I pass one hell of a lot of Model Y and 3s over here and can say I've never been blinded by their headlights. It's not a thing.
  12. LiamPope

    Inaccurate temperature readings

:) I'll raise a service request and see what happens.
  13. LiamPope

    Matrix headlights - finally???

Soooo... errrr... if it's coming to legacy models, which already have fog lights, does this suggest it's more than just the suspected lame fog light substitute, and is in fact proper matrix headlights?
  14. LiamPope

    Inaccurate temperature readings

I read that ages ago too, but not sure if it's actually implemented. But to be honest that would be much more accurate than what my sensor is doing at the moment. :)
  15. LiamPope

    Inaccurate temperature readings

Yeah sorry, should probably put it in the text anyway. 2022 3LR indeed.
  16. LiamPope

    Inaccurate temperature readings

Hi. Anyone noticing, or experienced before, inaccurate exterior temperature readings on the screen? Mine will frequently read lower at the start of a drive. For example I went to it today, about 4 C outside, but it reads -7! Towards the end of the short trip it jumped up to -1. Has done this...

My exact experience of driving in Norway. :) As above, surprised to learn it is even taught here. :)
  19. LiamPope

    Matrix headlights - finally???

Not sure how a rain sensor would help with the auto headlights?? :) Cars 10 years old have matrix headlights working fine using a camera. It's pure lack of giving a *sugar* from Tesla.

    Range Extension Stupidity

It's right at the back. It's behind the back axle. And it's half the size or less of that extender. No way it can go in there. Or it would be!
  21. LiamPope

    Range Extension Stupidity

Not American, don't know trucks or towing... just wondering - if you need a full size spare when doing some proper towing, isn't there likely some place in or on whatever you're towing (camper, boat, whatever) to chuck a spare? Wonder if they'd entertain a Cybertruck XL in the future -...

My experience taking Tesla to court about FSD

    Auto de-fogging

Yeah very annoyed by this this year. Was fine last year. Defogging just stays on blasting hot air in my face and even my kids complain! But turning climate off and back to auto fixes it for me. It wasn't broken - why did they need to fix it??

    [UK] ebike discussion

I wish Norway was more scared of E scooters!! ****ing menace!! Ok not the scooters per se, just the idiot kids who ride them darting about as if there's nobody else on the pavements or the roads. Not surprised they get banned all over the place.

    UK FSD Discussion

I really hope we are forward thinking enough to allow basically anything at level 2 with responsibility squarely on the driver (just as FSDb in US) with of course tighter controls on level 3 and above, but I fear we'll take the path of piecemeal allowing specific functions very tightly defined...

Tesla has promised self parking, picking you up and going to work as a robotaxi. None of that is level 2 only.

    So… Highland is out…

It's clickbait because it promises actual information but delivers only the same internet speculation and rumours that you or I could write. Of course a new M3P is probably coming in 2024 - that's not news.

Alert popped up ‘Unable to DC Fast Charge - Ok to AC charge’. CP_a163

Just had the same message pop up on mine. I've never even used DC charging! I think I'll raise a service request and see if I get some cable replaced under warranty too.

Unable to DC fast charge - OK to AC charge - CP_a163

Just had this message popped up on mine, too. I've never even used DC charging. Seems people getting this message are getting some charging cable replaced under warranty, so I might try the same!

Slap in the face by Tesla - Trade-in value £20k less than I paid Tesla just 18 months ago.

Well in my proposal you only get a battery the same age/condition as the one you had, so there'd be zero incentive to do that. At some point in the not so distant future there'll be a steady supply of Tesla (and others) batteries from end of life cars that still work fine. In my mind, if they...

Slap in the face by Tesla - Trade-in value £20k less than I paid Tesla just 18 months ago.

Imho, it should be quite low risk/cost for them to offer long battery warranties, like 15 years+, if they are based on a sliding scale of allowable degredation % vs years and/or miles. So people would have to accept degredation with old age/big miles, but they are covered for a sudden total...

    So… Highland is out…

Anyone who wants to try out what it will be like, just try to press one of the steering wheel buttons in your existing Tesla, as if to do a voice command or whatever the other one does, while negotiating some typical urban small/medium roundabouts. You'll see straight away that you just don't -...

    [UK] ‘Highland’ order discussion

And wears horribly. That's why pretty much no mainstream manufacturer would ever put it on the whole seats, or steering wheel. That's why your 'Alcantara sport seats' are almost always half-leather with alcantara only on the cushions, leather on the bolsters.
  38. LiamPope

    [UK] ‘Highland’ order discussion

The highland configurator shows what looks like alcantara on the black interior doorcards on the LR, but the render changes to what looks like some nasty fabric on the RWD. Haven't noticed it in any reviews though - they usually have the white interior.

Can you drive your Tesla in the rain?

They should at least try it on quoting that! Nothing to lose. Such a dumb pointless thing to say - I can throw a stone in a lake that 'works like a boat' for four or five skips then sinks. I can work as a cross channel swimmer for a 'short period of time'. Then I drown.
  40. LiamPope

    So… Highland is out…

Eh? Do they work differently in UK? On mine, to change the indicators from one way to the other it's a single operation, but you have to go past the initial half-way detent and all the way to the stop. I.e. half push cancels, full push reverses. Of course two half pushes would also do the job of...

    Hansshow Mini dash display 5.16"

That's odd. Seemed decent and good reviews. Been meaning to get one. I presume it's still available on Ali Express, but then it's a bit of a lottery with firmware version. :(
  42. LiamPope

    [UK] ‘Highland’ order discussion

There's just something weird about Tesla's paint, the red and blue particularly. Seems perhaps it's formulated and trialled entirely in Calaformia sun and needs both that, and to be immaculately polished to have any pop at all. The red looks great in photos (mostly in sunny US places) and in the...
  43. LiamPope

Can you drive your Tesla in the rain?

Just rain can't possibly get water in the battery. Must have gone through a flood. The version of the story I read mentioned they were expecting a bill £500-1000, so they knew they did something. The only thing confusing me is noone mentions insurance. Surely this is exactly what insurance is...

    So… Highland is out…

I'm sure I've already seen 'I'm an EV expert and I wouldn't buy a Tesla for this one reason' or words to that effect, and it was about the stalks, so yeah we will! :)

Luton Airport Car Park 2 Fire

    NEW Model 3 Highland review!

If Tesla can't give you certainty, no one else can! If they've done the paperwork correctly this time around with Highland, there's no reason it shouldn't be possible without all that 0 kg tow rating nonsense, even if it has to be aftermarket, but no one except Tesla knows currently.

Stalk or no stalk argument [not] settled

The argument is simply that no stalks is worse. And there's no up side to balance it out. Safety is going a bit far, imho.

Stalk or no stalk argument [not] settled

So, no stalks may not have caused traffic accidents, lack of data notwithstanding. Well that's some top level praise!! Where do I sign up to have my stalks removed? Australian Model Y Waiting Room

To clarify, outside Aus, NZ, HK, they removed USS from cars Oct/Nov 2022. It then took around 6 months for them to roll out the camera based software alternative for the Park Assist beepy beep function. They have still to this day, however, not disabled USS on any car that has them fitted. If...

    So… Highland is out…

Absolutely correct. Also correct! :) Claims were made about the heat pump that were so out of whack with my understanding I had to question it and look deeper into it. Glad I got to the bottom of it, helped dispel some incorrect information, watched a very interesting bunch of videos, and now...
