My multimeter was getting confused with so many wires nearby interfering. So I did it the old fashioned way - poke the wire to measure with a voltmeter. That's how I found the 15V wires on VCLeft and VCRight. I put in clearer footage in my later videos.

On VCLeft, the Model Y has 3 options to power your accessory (the tow hitch is one of them, as pictured), but it's constant power, unlike VCRight, unless you also add your own 12V switch.

IMHO, splicing wires and adding a fuse is easy. What you did is practically the same thing - accessing power from the accessory wire. The car computer, penthouse, and electronic fuses will "see" no difference.

When I was into track racing, we would get the lightest hoods possible and pin it down. The Tesla hood is comparable, so I don't complain. A real carbon fiber hood would weigh the same. The hood is supposed to be light and thin, so we would cringe when an import model would sit and pose on it.

How did you guys put screens in the back? I don't like how I had to put mine behind the headrest. Someone please suggest a better way.

It could be a whole number of things. You should go to a Tesla mechanic (or Service Center) and get a diagnosis. Maybe you could fix it yourself afterwards, but you need to know where the problem is.

yeah, the auto-dimming mirror - I disabled it, and I see no difference. It's the rear window tint. Just open the trunk, and see from the mirror that it's quite bright. close the trunk and it's dark.

I felt the same way in the beginning - the problem is the window tint. But I'm used to looking at the screen now when I back up. much better, except when there are raindrops on the camera. lol

The 12v switched wire I tap is on VCRight. It's switched, so it turns off when I leave the car. And I don't need a relay. Currently, that wire powers my radar detector and GoPro. it's shown in this video:
