    battery drain airport parking

I'm on my second 3 week business trip out of country. Last time, all I had to do was turn off Sentry mode and cabin overheat protection. The car lasts a very long time in sleep mode. On my first 3 week trip, I lost maybe 3-4% battery percent. I supercharged right before I parked it because I...

Any Recommendations for Hitch Tow Cargo?

I bought a used one of these on facebook marketplace for $200: StowAway Cargo Carriers - Versatility in Action. Works well, but I haven't tried it with a supercharger yet.

Am I crazy? Model Y without home charger...

I personally wouldn't own an EV without a home charger. Supercharging all your trips will hurt your battery life expectancy, and it's not cheaper to supercharge than gasoline.

    iPhone 15 & New Update

I've had the iPhone 15 Pro Max since it came out and and my Model Y since mid last year. I don't have any issues other than the first time it tried to sync. It was trying to sync all my contacts and things like that over bluetooth which ate up all the bluetooth bandwidth. I had to wait a...

    From Y to Audi e-tron: a Comparison

Hopefully this should not have been a surprise when purchasing your Y. If you watch any of the Investor day speeches or Battery day speeches, lowering the price of Tesla's has been a top priority since before the Model S launched. It's been a stated goal to bring EV's into mass adoption and...

Replacing the headrest in the model 3/S-Maybe this helps someone

I designed and 3d printed extensions to hold the backplate in place. I installed a headrest tablet mount which raised my headrest a few inches, so I needed to extend the bars so the backplate wouldn't fall back.

    Drill Front License Plate

That's pretty dumb of your state. Vehicles still need to have good steering, brakes, suspension, working lights and most importantly tires to operate on the road. All of those parts are fully in common with gasoline vehicles and tires wear out even faster on EVs. My state still has safety...

Get a few free decibel meter apps for your phone and try them out and compare the results. Place the phone in the front and the back of your car and near each door, compare results. Inspect the trunk seal in case they screwed that up. Inspect the window glass on the hatch, perhaps they redid...

    Regen Braking low/standard

It wasn't there 2 weeks ago when it snowed. I can guaruntee you that much. But I can check for software updates when I get home tonight. This would save me from having to buy the S3XY buttons commander. I have a Model Y LR. Unless you're talking about only the newer Model 3 Highland.

Debating the switch to 18 inch wheels from the 20 inch inductions

The only other consideration is towing, if you want the full 3500lbs tow rating, you need to use the 19" model Y rims and tires. Even the upgraded 20's are capable of towing the full 3500lbs. If you don't tow, then there's no need to worry about it. I believe the 18's are 8.5" wide, unlike...

Debating the switch to 18 inch wheels from the 20 inch inductions

I'm swapping to Tsportline 18's, Eagle tires are garbage in the snow. I'll probably start with the Michilin All Season 4's. The main reason I'm going with Tsportline are that the wheels are properly machined for the Tesla hub, no need for any center bore adapters. Most aftermarket rims are...

BEST SPARE TIRE KIT FOR MODEL Y

I bought this kit on Amazon because I like the Tesla specific jack with the nub to fit into the jack point of the car: Amazon.com The quality looks good, the bag was sturdier than I thought it would be and all the tools fit in the bag with the tire. However, I store all the tools under my...

    Regen Braking to low button?

I was driving around just fine, didn't feel unsafe until the regen kicks the back end out. I'm downsizing this year to 18" tires with better all-seasons. But Tesla should bring back the limited regen button. I had an adequate amount of traction with this tires otherwise, it's only the regen...

    Regen Braking to low button?

My MY LR with the 20" wheels come with Eagle F1 tires which are not that good in the winter. I modulate the release of the GO pedal very well under normal driving to maximize regen but still be comfortable. However, this past week in the snow, the regen with these tires is down right scary...

Cybertruck Delivery Event Watch Party | Tesla Motors Club Podcast #55

$80k for Dual Motor is a bit much. The F-150 Lightning FLASH Extended Range is $72k. They also added a heat pump finally. At that price, the Cybertruck is a hard sell for me.

    Home Wall Connector Install

Yep, if you use a multimeter with one probe in the ground hole, you'll only see 120v to any other pin. You'll only see 240v with respect to each other, not ground. I'd stick with 6 guage wire for the wall charger and a 50 amp breaker. You're not losing out on anything, the extra 8 amps...

    Home Wall Connector Install

I installed 4/3 cable on a 14-50 Hubbel 9450 outlet on the other side of my garage next to the breaker. Since I only had to buy 5ft of wire, I used 4/3 MC cable instead of 6 guage. And I installed a Tesla wall charger on my main parking spot in the garage, but I used 6/2 wire since it was a...

Bike in the cargo trunk of Model Y

I have a similar mat(looks identical) in my model y. Gives it a very luxury look in the back when I open it. I only have my emergency supplies and portable charger in my middle hidden storage. Items such as a car jack, plug kit, air compressor and portable charger. So it's not often I would...

I have a Model Y with 20" Induction wheels, I would like to try. I wanted to do the Magbak's but they're overpriced. Yours are more reasonable. I also own a full frame camera with lenses and I know how to use lightroom. So I can take good pictures.

Use Waitingfortesla.com and try to snipe a deal on a discounted or demo car. You can save several thousand that way, but you have to keep watching the page and filter it by cars in states you're allowed to buy from. Also, we only have single phase power in the united states in nearly all...

    When to Replace 12v?

While true, the 12v battery in a Prius will last 9 years. That doesn't mean you shouldn't replace it sooner. My 3rd gen prius fuel mileage decreased at about 5 years. It turned out the 12v battery was the culprit as the gasoline engine would have to turn on and run more often. The prius does...

OEM HEPA filters done after 1~ year?

Yes, BMW and Mercedes recommend every 15k miles, which for most people is once a year since the average driver does about 15k miles per year. It used to be 30k-45k intervals, but they lowered it. Bosch recommends you replace their Hepa filter every 12k miles, but they're the ones selling the...

OEM HEPA filters done after 1~ year?

I don't think he's wrong. All of my previous cars you could smell the exhaust of other cars. So that's bad in itself. Only Tesla, BMW and Mercedes offer better higher quality air filtration. Tesla just offers it standard. Here's an article: Tesla's Air Filters Are Way Better - CleanTechnica
  36. T

OEM HEPA filters done after 1~ year?

Air filtration is a double edged sword. Make the filter material more restrictive and it cleans the air better, make it less restrictive and too much outside pollution and smells come into the cabin. I think Tesla chose to use a more restrictive material, but make the filter significantly...

Comfort Suspension Not Much of an Improvement

No, I thought I remember reading of geometry changes to the suspension too. Which means different lengths for everything, meaning it's unlikely to retrofit to an older car.

AC & Heat only works well when recirculating?

Maybe your external air filter in the frunk is clogged? Recirc wouldn't use it and can circulate air freely. But if pulling from the outside, that filter needs to flow freely.

    My first real trip “review”

That happened to me the first time I picked up and used my phone on the highway. The internal cabin camera uses AI detection and must know that it's a phone. Therefore it got really mad at me and blocked me from using FSD for the rest of the trip.

Receiver hitch for bike rack install in NJ area?

Any auto mechanic should be able to install the hitch for a bike rack. There's nothing EV specific since there's no wiring involved. Just remove the rear bumper cover, and bolt it in place. Nothing different from a gasoline car. If you want to tow, that's a different story due to the wiring.

Tesla Vision stopped working coincidentally right after Costco Rotation/Balance

Holding the scroll wheels down only reboots the display, not the whole car. You can literally do this while driving down the road, the car still functions fine as the display reboots. To reboot the car go to Controls-->Safety-->Power OFF and don't touch anything. Don't touch the door...

    Alternative mobile app Tessie

It's a very roundabout way of doing things, but I was able to get it to work on my watch. However, I don't see a way to change the icons other than the color. It just uses the generic shortcuts icon for each button. So you have to know what it is. I have it set to Open Frunk and Unlock Doors...

    Alternative mobile app Tessie

No, I don't see that anywhere on the watch. No Tesla Watch app, or Watch shortcuts. The only shortcuts for Tesla that I know of are in the apple shortcuts menu and siri voice commands. Tessie has an actual Watch app, and a literal button shortcut I can press right on my main watch screen...
