    Navigation and Map changes

So, suddenly it recognizes the need to turn into side street to go "home" right after I got it corrected on Google. It did make a difference to me and it was an FYI, not a question.

    Navigation and Map changes

Yep "avoid highways" is the term the other nav systems use but I DO get what you're saying .. technically many other roads are considered highways. So Google is very responsive to address corrections and Tesla nav used that new info right away. That was my point.

    Self Driving

Yea, I know.. they are yellow. When I'm in 45 with 10 over set and a yellow 30 curve comes up .. I'm normally gonna slow to like 40, but 55 is a little much .. it's not a Porsche and I don't need or want the excitement. Just another example where user settings could fine tune to an individual...

2023 Tesla Model Y w enhanced autopilot missing summon and autopark.

I paid 6k extra for Enhanced Autopilot so I would get this feature and now, a year later still no word, no explanation as to why I didn't get what I paid for OR when it might be coming. There should have been some dialog, possibly even an offering of a refund if you're not delivering what was...

    Self Driving

I tend to use FSD a lot but have to intervene often for these reasons .. I prefer to avoid highways. I don't pass school buses that are stopped letting off kids. Car turns onto 2-lane Rte 10 and proceeds to do 10 mph while hogging both lanes. Another spot we go it always thinks speed limit is 60...

    Navigation and Map changes

More of an FYI .. I live on a corner and my address is the main road and driveway is on the side road. Car never sends me to or self-drives into side street .. until now. I modified my address on Google Maps to be closer to side street where driveway and garage are and it worked the next day ...

    Car knows home routine

I agree it isn't likely but tripping over the cable isn't pretty either .. it folds the mirrors in driveway so a check box to do various things differently at home isn't an outrageous request either.

    Car knows home routine

Ah, I meant when I'm in the garage without my phone or keycard and would like to pull the plug so I can walk past the car, knowing I'm charged sufficiently, just not going anywhere at the moment. I think the inability to remove the charge cable is intended so "others" won't unplug you. I have no...

    Car knows home routine

Car setting to fold mirrors, and not to use Sentry mode. I wish it would also allow me to remove charging cable and not limit the trunk lid height when I'm not at home.. hit my head about 20 times already, mostly where it could be full open. Maybe I'm missing a user settings page.

Corrupted App - Phone Key Not Recognized

Right, I wasn't sure that was working or not. It's fine now except, if I try to place a call on my Google Voice # .. I get "no microphone connected" message .. anyone know how to fix that ?

Corrupted App - Phone Key Not Recognized

Update.. even tho I checked this 5x before posting, it now seems okay. It takes 10-20 seconds to "fully connect". I was checking too quickly.

Corrupted App - Phone Key Not Recognized

After a year of being okay, car stopped recognizing my phone key, while wife's phone remained okay. I tried removing and re-establishing my phone only to have same result. Finally, I removed and reinstalled the Tesla App and it seems fine, except I have a new question .. after I get in car and...

Widget ? Model Y still not sleeping

When I do go on the app .. it'll say last seen 17 min ago even that wasn't me. Also, when I go near the car as I said .. it's not sleeping if it makes all those noises, right ?

Widget ? Model Y still not sleeping

I made sure sentry is off, cabin over temp protection is off. I have no summon yet, even tho I paid for it a year ago. I have the regular App, not Tessie. When I go into my garage without phone, the car grunts & groans (wakes up). I believe it even collects video clips of me even tho sentry is...

    Hold map in one spot

I used this tactic for the 1st time in order to freeze the scale of the map. It also freezes the location so you have to manually drag the map as you progress. You have to press & hold to drop blue pin .. & a little window opens. Don't close that or it cancels everything.

    Hold map in one spot

THANK YOU ! In fact if I just tap the top, gray 2"x3" of the "turn instructions" the rest collapses, and map no longer shows whole trip .. Much Better .. Thanks (still hope Tesla updates to allow "avoid highways")

My Model Y battery loses 2 % each day while it sits in garage, Sentry & Climate are off, what gives ?

Thanks, so when I open the app, it wakes the car ? Also, what is polling ? Please explain, thanks

My Model Y battery loses 2 % each day while it sits in garage, Sentry & Climate are off, what gives ?

Its been cool.. 25°f o'night, 45°f daytime. Haven't reached out yet, only 3k on it.

My Model Y battery loses 2 % each day while it sits in garage, Sentry & Climate are off, what gives ?

I do leave it plugged in always. I can try pulling the plug to see if that changes anything once I determine IF its going to sleep.

My Model Y battery loses 2 % each day while it sits in garage, Sentry & Climate are off, what gives ?

Tesla widget ? We use the app but don't check it frequently or anything. I would like to check if its sleeping .. please advise

My Model Y battery loses 2 % each day while it sits in garage, Sentry & Climate are off, what gives ?

It's a 2023 with just over 3,000 miles. I do walk past the car in the garage and it does seem to awaken to my presence even when I'm not carrying any form of a key. I hear activity in frunk area.

My Model Y battery loses 2 % each day while it sits in garage, Sentry & Climate are off, what gives ?

I use the car a few times a week, charge to 80 or 85 after I use it .. then I change "charge setting" to 60% so it won't keep charging 2% each day and after 5 days it's down 10%. Nothing is ON that I know of so I'm a bit disappointed. If I go a week without using it .. it'll be down roughly 15%.

    Hold map in one spot

When in NAV mode .. the screen Zooms OUT so it can show the whole route. I see my whole state (CT) but I cannot see any of the turns in my immediate future. Also a message box with my ETA I think .. covers the immediate future. PLEASE add some user settings so NAV is useful ! I also like to...

    Auto Tilt Mirror Won't Set

I too thought is saved but every time now it's looking too far down. I'd prefer to have settings than a view of the pavement .. it's different for 6' people vs 5'. My old cars had save-able setting for reverse as well as non-reverse. Of course they also had HomeLink (since 1986) so I could open...

    Navigate with NO Highways?

I prefer using GoogleMaps to avoid highways but my location on the (Google) map doesn't keep updating. When I bring up Google Maps .. the "next turn info" moves over the driving panel (left side) which is nice. Am I missing something with HOW my phone is sharing via BlueTooth becasue the phone...

Model Y never reaches its charging limit

Tesla wall charger .. it seems my WIFI wasn't great in the garage so the wall unit would frequently go off-line. Never had any trouble charging tho. How many kw added last charging session is working fine again. That too may have been a victim of weak WIFI which I have since improved.

Model Y never reaches its charging limit

Yes, I did set it up as a 30a and I can choose up to 24a (80%) for charging. It's just a bit scary to see it displaying 48a if/when wall units loses WIFI.
  28. R

Model Y never reaches its charging limit

I use the Tesla wall charger. It's always plugged in while in the garage .. I hate to see it at 48a given my electrical wiring is not up for that. I used the kw from previous charge to calculate my REAL mpg equiv since the app is useless with its gas prices etc.

    Navigate with NO Highways?

Yep, too bad because I prefer to avoid highways at times .. recent foliage drive .. I created on Google Maps by establishing 3 way points, shared my "directions" with Tesla and it didn't work .. the so-called share is merely the destination and it only saw the first stop. I expected a little...

Model Y never reaches its charging limit

I've been seeing the same thing, set for 80, goes to 79. It was going to 81 until recently. I suspect the app because .. other odd things happening; amperage slide-bar keeps going to 48a even tho my limit is 24a (30a breaker). Also, how many kw added last charging session is no longer showing...

Wall Charger - do I have to stow the plug in unit ?

Ah, thanks .. my existing white may need to be re-designated as RED. (Eaton E42906 Type NMB 10/3 WG are the markings .. will know soon) Conduit may get smaller using 2 insulated 8awg (THHN) and one bare. Thanks

Wall Charger - do I have to stow the plug in unit ?

Thanks for those links .. still contemplating best loccation for my real need. I do have 10awg NMB in the house and was adding 8awg THHN vis conduit .. trying to keep hole size for conduit to a reasonable minimum .. currently at 3/4 sch-40 with 1.1" holes. Do I need an insulated ground and...

Tesla Wall Connector: Hard wiring Vs NEMA 14-50

Actually to use 6awg and go to a 50a breaker I still only get 37 MPH vs 30MPH (with 8awg and 40a breaker). Starting out with some 10awg and 30a breaker for 22MPH. Guess I'd have to compare cost of 6 & 8 wire, but another option would be use 40a breaker even if I use 6awg and set wall-charger...

Tesla Wall Connector: Hard wiring Vs NEMA 14-50

Agree, although I will start by adding 8awg THHN thru conduit from existing 30a ckt (10awg NMB) and set wall at 30A. My upgrade will involve changing wiring in house (to CB) to 6awg NMB and that combination should be good for 55a. CB size would be next decision (50 or 60) and since I only have...

Wall Charger - do I have to stow the plug in unit ?

Yea sorry not voltage drop, Ohmic heating calc P=I^2R. Its either 100 ft from CB to Wall Unit or 125 ft if I locate in the more-central location. Another 25 ft within the wall unit's cable and the return so we're talking 250-300 ft of lets assume 8awg copper. At 56.5 per 100', that's 113-170...

Wall Charger - do I have to stow the plug in unit ?

I may want to use the 24' length to mount the wall charger on the side of my garage, route the cable overhead and hang down in the middle if the garage where I'd be using it. In this way, the base unit will be closer to WIFI, less wire and volt drop to get power to the unit. Any negatives to NOT...

Tesla Wall Connector: Hard wiring Vs NEMA 14-50

I was thinking arc welder but very rarely are the key words. I agree, will hard wire and IF I need to do a little welding, I can change for that event. I am limited to 40a or 30mph. Initially 30a or 22mph until I change existing wiring in house from 10 to 8awg. A 40a breaker is the largest I...

Tesla Wall Connector: Hard wiring Vs NEMA 14-50

I am adding new wiring to my garage (40amp) and wanted to add a 50a outlet to which I'd plug-in my walk charger (with a pigtail). In this way, if I wanted to use the outlet for something else, I'd have to un plug the wall charger. I see this as ideal but, if there is something wrong with doing...
