    Possible Location - Vaudreuil, QC

I think it may be under construction now. Not at the IGA but down the road about 1/2 km west of the IGA across from the McDonalds. I just drove by and they were laying concrete slabs resembling what you’d expect a supercharger to sit on. It looked like about 8 stalls plus a main electrical...

19” Slipstream Model S wheels (Canada)

I have a set of 19” Slipstreams for sale with TPMS. They are from 2017 and have only been used one season so they are in great shape, no curb rash. I’m asking $700(Canadian). Pick up in the Montreal area or I can deliver them for a fee within about 250km.

Set of 19” Slipstream wheels/TPMS for sale

Cleaning out the garage. Got a set of four 19” Slipstream wheels plus TPMS off a 2017 Model S. They were used one season and have no road rash. Located in the Montreal area. $700

Model S - Suspension Clicking Noise

Sounds like the steering rack bolts. I believe there was a recall on those a while back. Easy fix. If I remember correctly they are aluminum bolts and are prone to breaking so it may be hanging by two bolts instead of three. If you remove your frunk tub you can check it out for yourself, get the...

60 to 75 upgrade not avail anymore? why not?

I just got back from my service center and they don’t seem to be aware they can unlock my battery. Where are you guys that got the unlock located? I was at a new service center that just opened north of Montreal so maybe they’re not up to speed on these things.

60 to 75 upgrade not avail anymore? why not?

I didn’t upgrade last year when it was available and regretted it come winter. If they are upgrading again I’ll do it for sure. It’s not showing up on my app nor on my Tesla page so hopefully the service center does it. Ironically it’s in for service right now with MCU and unbalanced BMS issues...

    Plaid a total game changer?

Isn’t the $35K model 3 already available off menu? Unless you’re alluding to it not being well equipped in which case I think I’d have to disagree considering it was initially going to come with a metal roof and a smaller battery instead of a locked one. I guess “we’ll equipped” is subjective...

What's the expert's opinion on how to handle a hydroplaning Model S AWD at highway speeds?

I had a scary experience a few years ago. It was raining and right about at the freezing point one early quiet morning. Roads appeared to be wet as they had been salted so driving was pretty normal. That is until I got into the EV lane which I guess no one else was using. It was wet ice and...

    Possible Location - Vaudreuil, QC

I guess the ideal spot would have been where the Flying J used to be but the Harwood location is a pretty good compromise for travel between the 401 and downtown Montreal. Definitely a lack of charging on the 20 whereas the 40 has Fairview and Place Vertu. That being said, I remember the days...

    Loaner S - Software different?

I’ve noticed all the loaners are locked on chill mode lately. Not sure if it’s like that everywhere if a local thing they do in Montreal but I’ve had three in the last month all locked in chill mode.

    Metal chirping sound from back

What you’re experiencing could be a lack of lube in your wheel hub where it meets the axel spline. They don’t seem to put enough molybdenum grease when it’s assembled and they start to corrode which further displaces the grease. They can remove your hub and clean it out thoroughly then re grease...

    HW3 Upgrade

No noticeable differences but I only drove straight home and AP was calibrating half the drive so only got to see it on the highway a little bit. I still have MCU1 and it was buggy and slow until I did a reset. I’ll do more testing today.

    HW3 Upgrade

March 2017 Model S here. HW3 was installed yesterday at the Montreal service center. No word on MCU upgrade though.

    Montreal store during Covid

Has anyone been lately? Are they open? I have a service appointment and would like to talk to a sales rep about an off menu Model 3 order while I’m there. Looking for a 150km SR- to drive locally as we would use the Model S for trips.

Software limited 60 batteries: degradation, upgrades and overall health

I have a February 2017 built 60D. Full charge is 332km after 45000km. New was about 345 if I remember correctly. I wanted to upgrade recently but it seems Tesla won’t do that anymore.

Not a fan of wood decor? Poor mans upgrade!

Yes it is a bit glossy. It looked less glossy when I ordered it but then again the old piano black was already glossy to begin with. I may redo it with a less glossy one eventually but for now I like it.

    2014 Model S 60 Battery Question

Also of interest is that Tesla no longer allows software unlocks since about September. It’s no longer on the Tesla account and service center refuses to take my money for it.

Not a fan of wood decor? Poor mans upgrade!

I’ve always been kind of fond of the carbon fibre decor but at the time of purchase had to make some financial decisions that favoured function over form. The look I wanted to replicate is finally complete. Enter the poor mans carbon fibre upgrade for a few dollars worth of vinyl wrap and a bit...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Yep, lots of parallels between early automation accidents in aviation and our AP in our cars. I think the initial post about it was a reference to a flight where the autopilot got kicked off when the crew accidentally nudged the controls. That’s why there’s a chime now when it’s disengaged. The...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

I’ve been flying Airbus 320s for years so done it in the simulator plenty of times. Been flying seaplanes forever. No matter what you’re flying the physics are the same. The wing stalls at an angle of attack. There’s three different AOA sources so even if one fails you have two good ones. You...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Geez talk about thread drift! Flying in alternate law isn’t a whole lot different than flying in normal law minus a few protections which a competent pilot wouldn’t get close to anyways. It’s basic flying 101 to not stall it. Side stick or not is pretty irrelevant I think since anyone can...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

I’m pretty sure she was referring to a Lockheed 1011 crash in the ‘70s, which isn’t fly by wire at all. Today pretty much everything is fly by wire.

I expected MIC model 3s to start selling this month but if they are stockpiling them till January I would think that would bode well for a better 1Q2020. With Q4 expected to be profitable already maybe this isn’t such a bad thing?

60D to 75D Battery unlock no longer available?

My mobile ranger guy came over for an unrelated issue and when I mentioned it to him he seemed surprised so he called someone (maybe another ranger) to see what’s up and no other explication other than they stopped offering it on the website. My car is going to the service center on said...

    Cyclones vs Slipstreams

I like the cyclones a lot for the looks but the slipstreams are more aerodynamic so I use them for longer road trips. If I’m not planning any long trips for a while I install the cyclones which in my case are painted grey and look awesome on a black car.

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Company names are fine as is a trademark. They just couldn’t have a sign up that says something like “Tesla battery plant”. It would have to be “Les batteries Tesla” for example, or just “Tesla”. If a sign is bilingual the French has to be predominant. Pretty sure that’s how it goes as my ex is...

60D to 75D Battery unlock no longer available?

...I should have known booking a service appointment would cause confusion. They texted me back advising me that I don't need a service appointment for the upgrade and referred me back to the MyTesla page. *facepalm!

60D to 75D Battery unlock no longer available?

I've been holding off on the battery upgrade until such a time that I actually need it and felt secure in knowing I could just upgrade it at any time through my Tesla account. Now that option has disappeared from my account and there doesn't seem to be a way to upgrade. It seems silly to have...

Model S 90 RWD only forum

I have a RWD S90. I doubt you’ll get much traction on forum for it for the reasons above but I think you just created the RWD 90 thread. There are so few of us and probably no more than half a dozen on the forum so it would be a pretty quiet forum. Btw I love my RWD S90. It’s got range, AP1...

    Windshield replacement near Montreal

It finally happened. I went on a 8000km road trip in a 2014 Model S with no issues whatsoever. My luck finally ran out right after I got back home. Got a rock impact right on the left bottom corner of the windshield resulting in a crack spreading right across it. Anyone had a windshield...

    Supercharger - Salem, Virginia

I was hoping to stop here on my drive from Montreal to Sarasota on Saturday night. Its not too big a deal if its not done since I was planning to overnight in the Roanoke area anyways so I can always find a hotel with charging. It'll be good to have once its done.

    Refresh door handles...

I’ve had them retract on me. There shouldn’t be much pressure as they are held in by a spring. However the element of surprise causes people to pull their hand away quickly which I guess can rap your knuckles. I tried it again without pulling away and there’s not much pinching pressure.

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

I’m in for 10 more shares at $232. If everyone here buys a symbolic amount we can show them they won’t shake our long term confidence in TSLA! (Not advice obviously, that would be foolish)
