Does a battery ever have a positive ROI with net metering

I believe Texas covered the folks that got screwed with dynamic pricing. Power companies won. Customers won (because they were saving oodles up until then). Taxpayers…. Well.

New Owner—A/C Only Works While Moving. Is This Normal?

Look up service mode (Google). You hold the logo in one of the screens and type “service” as the password. See if you have any errors listed.

    Definitely not normal.

Make your robotaxi predictions for the 8/8 reveal

If it's that bad, people should not be driving. Even those people that put on their hazard flashers and lean over the steering wheel and squint like it helps.

glass roofs have to go bye bye.

I have my doubts that this would help and of course it needs power for the blower.

    long term parking

This is why I never use sentry mode. It’s a lot of power and I haven’t needed it (luckily). Depending on electric rates, that’s over $1 per day. 2 teslas 5 & 6 years old. That’s a chunk of change.

    Wall connector amp setting

No, I don't think it comes out of the box at 40a. When it is set to a 50a breaker, it allows 40a maximum. This is called the 80% rule because of the continuous nature of charging.

They don't need cars on any free subscription to collect whatever data they want (assuming someone checked the I approve button at some point).

Uber drivers don't understand how much they are depreciating their car, that's why uber model works. (IMHO of course)

    FSD now $99 a month

Not for free, that’s for sure. If a car with real self driving an no steering wheel could be purchased, I would assume you might need to only purchase comprehensive insurance. If someone else is taking the liability I’d sssume they get paid for it. I pay a pile for insurance now every month...

Does a battery ever have a positive ROI with net metering

If I'm home, I would assume I could load shed and it would be useful for an extended outage (keep the fridge and freezer going). At least better than neighbors that had nothing. But ultimately a generator with a local fuel source would clearly be the most reliable.

How to order through Electronic Parts Catalog (EPC)?

You can submit a service ticket with the parts list and pick them up at a service center. But not for all parts.

@Thp3 the new FSDS won’t get up to the set speed in regular “driver controls the limit” mode either. At least for me on my roads.

No different from a manually driven car and we don’t frequently see those type of accidents.

True. Maybe add some future low cost lidar for up close accurate maneuvering.

I'd think throw more horsepower and the computing and continue vision. Or use their fleet and do hyper accurate mapping. I do think they may need more cameras for more stereo vision.

Make your robotaxi predictions for the 8/8 reveal

To me that sounds like the $40k cybertruck. And yes, none of the robots have really hatched and we don't know what they are capable of doing in a productive (earn $$) sort of way.
  20. B

    Well, that’s lovely…

Probably I found with self plugging is if it does leak no tire store will touch it again and do a proper patch from inside. so I save it for emergency use only, I find a tire store if I can.

    Security of Phone/Card/Key?

RFID and NFC are short distance. Fobs are powered and have a transmitter. Not sure what they all use now, but early model S (through around 2018) are propriiorty wireless. Model X was bluetooth fobs from the start. Again, no idea after 2018-ish or the 3 or Y. At some point they did...

Ideal SOC for long term storage

The other option is to disconnect the low battery for storage which will isolate the high voltage battery. I recall reading it in the Tesla manual but I don’t recall when they suggested using that strategy.

Robocab doesn’t want to share $$ with Uber.

Cost of a new small (12 volt) battery

Ohmmu is an expensive alternative that has a history of compatibility issues but for some that have had a great deal of 12v failures it might make sense.
  26. B

Make your robotaxi predictions for the 8/8 reveal

That’s kinda what I’m wondering about. I mean is it going to change the world and suddenly people will stop buying cars? I doubt it.

Yup. But in any case, not good for saving money with a battery.

Does a battery ever have a positive ROI with net metering

I don't have solar (yet), but friends do. There is no grid fee based on the size of the system. Austin Energy Value of Solar is pretty straightforward (for better or worse) - - Pay a monthly fee, same if one has solar or does not have solar (around $15) - Pay for electricity plus energy...

Does a battery ever have a positive ROI with net metering

Austin Energy has a value of solar plan where all electricity generated by ones solar panels are paid a fixed price ($0.09). No matter if it is consumed locally our sent out on the grid. Heck, even on battery with the grid out, you are getting paid for the solar you use. No benefit to...

    Regenerative braking not working

Check the service menu for errors. And/or submit a ticket to Tesla and see if they can see anything in the logs. I believe I read that wheel sensors can cause probems like this.

Using Tesla Wall Connector to charge a 2017 Leaf with J1772 adapter

My current adaptor does not need to wait. Just need to connect it to the cable before the car - I'm pretty sure it's this one. Tesla to J1772 Adapter – EVSE Adapters (but, of course, the models appear to have changed slightly so not 100%) My old adaptor did need to wait. If I didn't wait I...

Oops. I misread. I thought you meant the price for the subscription for EAP only from nothing. They definitely should do something for people that purchased EAP already.

The sticker is on the side of the pack. Should be visible behind the front passenger (USA drive cars) wheel.

5 years worth of subscription = buying it

Who knows. The $99 is not guaranteed for 10 years. It could be $250 next year (if by some magic it works to the 99.99999%). I don't see it as cut and dry as that.
  42. B

    FSD now $99 a month

I'd guess that tier would be eliminated. Or priced the same for those that someone want it over the other.
  43. B

    FSD now $99 a month

No one is valuing it highly on the open market, so why would Tesla value it highly on trades? They certainly don’t have to. Of course there is an argument that it keeps people in the ecosystem and churn of new cars…. So there is value in them doing it. But as long as the population doesn’t...
