How to test alarm? And am I missing a Sentry feature?

Thank you for the clever suggestion for testing the alarm - I'll try it! And yes everybody, I did read the manual many, many times until my eyes blurred. That's why I posted the question. And I'm glad I did, so you could share the undocumented info that the tilt/intrusion feature does not exist...

How to test alarm? And am I missing a Sentry feature?

I took delivery on my MY three weeks ago, and have started to get comfortable with all the features. Great car. And it's nice to have an alarm system (unlike my recently abandoned VW ID.4). But I have a silly question: Is it possible to test to see if the alarm is actually working without...

    Roof rack effect on range?

Thanks for your thoughts, folks. I think I found the answer: As I had hoped, the empty crossbars ("roof rack") only subtract around 1% from the range. Someone took the time to measure it: Tesla Model Y Roof Rack Efficiency Reduction Tested So now I feel confident enough to buy the Model Y, pay...

    Roof rack effect on range?

Does anyone know how much the Tesla Roof Rack (just the empty cross-bars) will affect the range? I'm ordering a Model Y, and was originally planning on taking the "roof rack" (cross-bars) off and on a few times per year, using them only for long trips. However, there are enough reports on this...

    Using ABRP Configurations?

Thank you, that works! I was looking at the general overall settings, rather than the settings for each part of the trip.

    Using ABRP Configurations?

I’d like to hear from people who use the Configurations feature of ABRP – the choices for “Cargo on Roof”, “Bikes on Back”, etc. How do you approach using it to plan your first trip with a cargo box on your roof, and how do you go about fine-tuning the planning as you complete more trips? Just...

    Phantom braking without self-driving features?

Thanks - please keep me posted if you notice any more severe behavior, like some stories I've heard of the cruise speed suddenly changing from 120 km/h to 40 km/h. My ID.4 has "adaptive cruise control" (like TACC, as I understand it), but it normally acts by slowing the car with the motors...

    Phantom braking without self-driving features?

Those sound like great features (some of which I'm already used to on the ID.4, others I've heard of on other EVs). Also glad to hear that radar may be returning. Hopefully that will reduce the chances of phantom braking.

    Phantom braking without self-driving features?

Wow, thanks for the very rapid replies, everyone - much appreciated! And my apologies for my lack of Tesla Terminology knowledge. I'm learning a little about EAP, NOA, and FSD. So smogne41, it sounds like you're saying all Teslas now have the EAP? And from what I read recently, the newer Model...

    Phantom braking without self-driving features?

Sadly, I'm thinking of trading in my new VW ID.4 for a Tesla MY. I've about had it with the limited CCS charging network and VW's poor service. But Tesla's phantom braking reports have me worried. Reading reports from this site, it seems that all or most seem to be on vehicles that have some...
