It looks like I have LTE enabled

Here's what my 85D (P70XXX, built sometime in late Feb / early March), reported tonight (v6.2 2.4.236):

Differences between Dec 2014 and current model s

Wow, really? What's the logic behind this? Is there some sort of strange EU regulation (I know Switzerland isn't in the EU, but you're grouped in with them, in this context) that prevents them from doing so?

    85D Actually 394 HP?

Took delivery on my MS 85D on March 16th and just got my registration documents back from Tesla today. Interestingly, the Tesla Certificate of Origin lists the 85D as a 394 HP vehicle, not 376 HP, as the website states.

Tracking Model S 85D Delivery Thread

Took delivery on Monday (March 16). The DS mentioned that it was his first 85D delivery out of the Decatur service center! Loving the car! As others have had happen, it also came with the yacht floor and heated steering wheel, despite not being available at ordering. S85D Steel Grey Metallic...

    85D 4.3 0-60 time?

Why do you say that? Tesla has been pretty conservative on 0-60 times, but most (granted, empirical) evidence has shown the P85D to be between 3.0 and 3.2 seconds. Perhaps a software update will improve that, but I haven't seen any 2.x range times yet. If you have, I'd love to see them!

Can't Access Private Websites on WiFi?

Out of curiosity, has anyone tried to SSL VPN via the Tesla browser? Mine doesn't come until Monday, so I haven't had an opportunity to try.

Bought a Certified Pre Owned Model S

Yeah, it's a known issue. From my understanding, iOS devices "rotate" the image with metadata stored with the image, without actually rotating the image itself. So, when the image gets posted somewhere that doesn't recognize the metadata, the picture doesn't get rotated.

Bought a Certified Pre Owned Model S

That's awesome! Thanks for the pamphlet pictures. I've rotated them upright, if you don't mind. [Edit: More!]

Tesla should desugn a better and smarter light like the BMW M4

Those are M4 concept lights, not production. How do you know Tesla isn't doing something as well?
  10. S

What's better? Swap every three years or keep for the long-term?

Between the 8 year battery warranty, battery swap (hopefully), and battery upgrades (similar to Roadster 3.0), I would see an 8 year old Tesla being quite reliable/desirable/valuable compared to an ICE equivalent.

    Energy Federal Credit Union

That's my concern as well. I have very good mortgage and revolving credit history and ~800 credit score, but have never had an auto/student/home equity loan.
  16. S

    Energy Federal Credit Union

Mind if you share your credit score? I'm assuming somewhere in the 800s? I noticed that EFCU requires 780 for "their best rate", which looks to be 1.01% on a 72-month (including the 1% EV discount).

Looks like Tesla is making the "Estimated Delivery" description a bit more clear on the "My Tesla" page.

What Version of Homelink Does the Model S Have?

I have an incidental unit, but branded as Craftsman (Craftsman Assurelink Garage Door Opener: Make that Garage Safe and Secure at Sears ). (BTW, Sears = Craftsman = Chamberlain). My 2004 Cadillac CTS has no issues with this opener. I'm waiting for my MS85D to be delivered in February and I'd...

    Tesla Security Patrol

With the standard 19" rims, I'd venture to say this is a S60 (most likely) or S85. Not sure why you'd need S85D/P85(+)/P85D on a patrol vehicle.

    Tesla Financing

I looked through the eligibility requirements and there seems to me something called the "Tesla Loan Referral (FCS)". Is this how you qualified as a member of Alliant?

Installed adjustable rear camber links to reduce rear tire wear

Wow! That's not too bad! I do wonder what the benefit will be on D-models, considering the expected decrease in rear tire wear. Perhaps still beneficial, but will likely take longer to pay for itself.
  25. S

Installed adjustable rear camber links to reduce rear tire wear

Very cool! If you don't mind, could you give us a ballpark figure on what something like this might run?
  26. S

    Financing - timing

Interesting point! I do wonder if the dual-vs-single motor VIN change will cause some sort of "insurance ambiguity", in that there is no historical data on D-models. I suppose they'll base it on single-drive models initially and then build data for both types thereafter...

Sounds like our old frunk organizer might not fit in our new P85D?

Great eye! Looking at them side-by-side, I've also noticed that perhaps the D version's frunk has more vertical depth? The "shoulders" (if you will), seem to be steeper on the D version and the back wall also seems to be taller. (Forgive the MS-Paint job)

Getting the 60D versus the 85D

You're probably right. However, I'm hoping that Tesla is thinking more long term and planing on phasing out the 60 kWh packs. While the 60 kWh packs are less dense/heavy than the 85 kWh packs, they occupy the same volume, due to the empty space within the pack. I hope that Tesla eventually...

    Supercharger - Atlanta, GA

I think this is the most likely scenario. Have we seen any other SC stations installed "backwards"?
  30. S

Getting the 60D versus the 85D

Or, perhaps a re-hash of the MS 40. Build only 85D/P85D. Software limit the 60D orders, but with 85D hardware.
  31. S

    Supercharger - Atlanta, GA

    WOW. That sounds expensive.
  32. S

Theoretical maximum speed over distance in P85D and other charting hypotheticals

This seems a more realistic to me. The range calculator on the Tesla website estimates 240 miles @ 70 mph on the 85 kWh battery with 19" wheels @ 70F without the heat on (thus, approximately 354 wh/mi). Granted, the actual mh/mi is truthfully lower, as you have to account for the ~10%...

New Atlanta Store: 1580 Church St.

I'm wondering this myself. My original MS85 was to be delivered this month, but I pushed it out for a MS85D. Decatur is a bit more convenient than Marietta, coming from Gwinnett.

New Tesla Stores in Atlanta poset on Tesla's website

Thanks for the heads up! The Lenox/Decatur locations are a bit more convenient than Marietta, coming from Gwinnett (Duluth). I'm actually a bit disappointed that Tesla didn't establish a location in the Buford / Mall of Georgia area. It would attract a lot of folks on the NE side of town...

Do you prefer the original seats or the new seats?

While I agree, the head/neck support wasn't excellent. I'd prefer the larger/taller headrests (with rear-view camera), over the smaller ones.

Why does Model S not have a trip computer?

Shouldn't be too difficult to upgrade the existing readout:

2014 Tesla Model S - how could you even get into crash like this? (NSFW)

Definitely concur with the falling damage theory. Furthermore, the big dent on the rear right portion of the roof would not have happened in any sort of collision that I am aware of. Same with the driver's side door "pinching" outwards. Possibly a tree fell on top of it, with the tree trunk...

Neither have I! Not sure what her problem is.
  41. S

Speed Assist and Lane Departure Warning

:scared: Not sure Tesla would have many takers at that price! It'd have to be under $5k IMO, since we're talking mostly wiring, additional front/rear "parking" sensors, windshield, camera, and steering wheel (for some, since the new wheel/stalks are appearing in all new Model S).

Teslas Now Being Delivered with Turn Signal and Cruise Control Stalks Swapped!

Got a surprise when I picked up my car. | Forums | Tesla Motors Looks like they've received the new MB wheels and stalks and started installing them into Teslas. The turn signal stalk is now on top and the cruise control stalk on bottom. Yay! BTW, found this thanks to the fine folks over at...

Potential Code Issue in New(ish) Home (Could Affect NEMA 14-50 Install)

Thank you for all the insight everyone! I think I will indeed branch off of the exterior panel with a 50A breaker there. Makes me much more comfortable than potentially overloading the interior panel. This way, I can go: Wired meter -> 3/0 CU -> 150A breaker (potentially upgrade to a 200A...

Potential Code Issue in New(ish) Home (Could Affect NEMA 14-50 Install)

Thank you for the insight FlasherZ! I had read that part of the code but assumed that the (B)(16) would act as a "superset", if you will, and augment (B)(7). Meaning, follow (B)(7), so long as it also complies with (B)(16) and, thus, comply with the tightest standard. Truth be told, as my...

Potential Code Issue in New(ish) Home (Could Affect NEMA 14-50 Install)

Hello All, (Again, please excuse me if this is the wrong subforum. Still getting used to posting here, although I've been lurking for a while.) A little background: my home is relatively new (finished January 2013) and was built with two 225A-max panels in the garage and an outdoor...

What?! $1,331.47 for 15' NEMA 14-50R Install (Georgia)

So... interesting development. (I cannot verify the veracity of this statement, so take it as...

What?! $1,331.47 for 15' NEMA 14-50R Install (Georgia)

Makes sense to me. Now if I could only find out whether or not they needed in my county. My Google-fu appears to be lacking, as I can't seem to find anything that shows they're required. Of course, the lack of info doesn't mean the requirement doesn't exist! I shall keep searching. (This is...

What?! $1,331.47 for 15' NEMA 14-50R Install (Georgia)

Spiffy! Haha - thanks! I'd need to figure out how to fish it up towards the ceiling, horizontally, and then back down to make it work, since I can't go drilling straight through the studs. Probably difficult to fish around with 3 AWG wire, but might be possible if I go with 6 AWG and forgo the...
