In that case, half the points you don’t like about the car will resolve themselves in just a few more weeks ;-) I totally agree about the roof…I’d love a non-glass option (I’d pay extra to have a metal roof instead of the glass one).

Interesting data point: I had to take my car in for service yesterday (window seal leaking a lot of air) and my SA was a new hire since the layoffs. Service was excellent (and completed same day), btw, and even though in app it said no transportation would be arranged, they loaned me a Model 3...

To me it looks like JB Straubel was driving a lot of the innovation at Tesla. I don’t think they’ve been the same since he left. If you listen to Elon, this isn’t really an area of focus now either.

Her adjusting the temp in-app suggests a driverless service; if not, she’d just ask the driver to adjust the temp. There already is Uber for EVs, btw, Uber-Green is an option when hail a ride and only EVs can pick you up.

I wonder if in the end to try and move those ineligible cars they’ll have to cut the prices like they did for the 2023 Model Ys once the calendar flipped to 2024. If so, there might be a good buying opportunity (for anyone who is ineligible for the fed tax rebate).

I wouldn’t do it. I don’t think your local service center will do as good a job installing the new glass roof as was done in the factory.

Older Highlands are not eligible for the Federal rebate. You can clearly see this just by going to their site and checking out available inventory. I can see Highland LRs that aren’t eligible like this one...

I was at the Junior Olympics Water Polo qualifiers last weekend and, much to my surprise, the parking lot (of the high school where the tournament was being held) had an array of 12 free L2 chargers. The tournament was being held about 40 miles from my home (and we were there Fri, Sat, and Sun)...

That means if you qualify for the Fed tax rebate, the LR is only $1k more than the RWD…I don’t see how that doesn’t tank RWD sales.

When I did a demo drive, I really couldn’t tell any improvement over my December 2023 Model Y and I specifically drove over a pretty bad stretch of road hoping to see one.

If you disable sentry and cabin overheat protection you shouldn’t have much drainage at all.

The Model 3 Highland is pretty much the same…just iteratively improved.

The dark Gemini wheels do look nice and it looks like the silver ones are no longer in production at all.

The reason is speculative but it’s odd to tool up for front gigacastings and a structural battery pack and then just revert back to your previous production process; that seems unlikely to have been the game plan.

Absolutely not. First, it’s not really an extended warranty (it’s a “service agreement”) and, second, the big ticket items (drive units/battery) are backed for a lot longer still.

According to Elon, no Model Y refresh coming this year…I think you’ve got plenty of time to buy a non-Juniper Y.
