Noisy door weather seals causing stiction noises over bumps?

Awesome, thanks for the input. I got some of that stuff on order, hoping for a longer lasting solution.

Noisy door weather seals causing stiction noises over bumps?

Does anyone else have noisy door weather seals? The door or window actually sticks to the seals, and as you go over larger bumps such as driveway entrances or speed bumps, you actually hear the frame flex a bit and break the stiction. I've tried using wd-40 silicone lube on the seals to prevent...

Tein EnduraPro Plus adjustable shock absorbers fitted

I recently installed these shocks along with the UP mild lowering springs on a 23 MYLR. It dropped the car exactly 1" front and rear, and made it look perfect in my eyes. A nice even wheel gap all around, and none of the too tall look the stock springs have. Currently its set at 12F+12R, have...

MY seen pulling a ~27ft Airstream yesterday - please don't

I don't like to be a snitch, but jeopardizing other people safety that grossly is worth a call to the local police station. That type of thing could get someone killed. Hopefully they just hooked it up to reposition it at the camp site and not for actual travel.

Tein EnduraPro Plus adjustable shock absorbers fitted

This is awesome. Glad to hear it’s a big improvement. Any detriment to the ride or feel on the freeway?

    Ear pain/Pressure help

I think people do in fact use those holes to insert the tubing, although I didn't realize that at the time. I split it right at the seam in the middle top of the seal. I might go in and glue it back together at some point, just to be safe that no water will get in.

Tein EnduraPro Plus adjustable shock absorbers fitted

Super interested to hear how the car behaves once you get the front done. I have a set of these on backorder, and need to hear from someone that the improvement in bouncyness over small bumps is improved.

    Frustrated service visits

Tesla said they don’t blend the bumper due to it being plastic. i called bullshit and they said as the reason for the discoloration is due to the clear coat still being freshly painted vs the bumper being cured for 30 days. Anyone have any advice? I can’t find anyone that says the clear will...

    Frustrated service visits

Well, it continues. Went to pick up the vehicle, and they blended the fenders to the hood quite well. But for some reason they did not blend the bumper to the hood. I feel like I’m babysitting a bunch of middle schoolers. Wasted 3 hours getting up their and back. Service center was closed, so I...

    Frustrated service visits

Had to take a new MYLR in to get a couple dents removed from the hood that I didn't notice during pickup due to it being white and in the blazing sun. First service visit, which is a 2.5 hour round trip, ended up needing a loaner as the dent repair guy was not in that day. No big deal, I get to...

PSA: Don’t leave can of Coke on seat on a hot day, Service required

Less than 1000 miles. I put a fan under the seat with it in the sun, and the error went away. I'm hoping that means this will be the last of it, with no lasting issues.

PSA: Don’t leave can of Coke on seat on a hot day, Service required

$2500 for a seat sensor, ouch. Seems like a waste of resources to replace the entire thing. Hopefully it'll dry out, I'll throw a fan under the seat to help dry it out.

PSA: Don’t leave can of Coke on seat on a hot day, Service required

I left a can of Coke Zero on the passenger seat at the airport while on a 36 hour business trip. When I returned I noticed some spots on the window and a puddle of coke on the seat bottom. The can had exploded. Must have been the heat, although it was only 85-90 out that day. The spray covered...

Concerns after 1000 miles of ownership. Help appreciated.

I installed the 5/16" PVC tubing in the rear hatch seals, and that by itself helped tremendously. I plan on doing the 3d printed hard stops as well soon, and lining the rear wheel wells with butyl kilmat as recommended by ilovecoffee. But I'm beginning to see the light at the end of the noisy...

    Ear pain/Pressure help

Installed the 5/16" PVC tubing, and it made a huge difference. Definitely happy with the results but still planning on doing the 3d printed hard stops and butyl on the rear wheel wells. I think I screwed up though in cutting the "seam" at the top of the weather stripping when installing the...

My Model Y hit by fireworks

Thats brutal, hopefully the glass isn't etched from the high temps. The paint looked effed up as well. Keep us posted.

Is there any way to buff out the glass scratches on the rear window?

Griots garage makes glass polish and a polishing pad you could try. I've used it to great success on hard water spots on glass. Not sure how it'll do with deep scratches but if they are superficial I bet it'd help. Glass is pretty damn scratch resistant, so figure out how it happened and don't...

Concerns after 1000 miles of ownership. Help appreciated.

Glad to hear I'm not the only one! I'm not an overly wide person (34 waist), but man it sure feels narrow. I think its something that'll soften up. I did 3 test drives, didn't notice any booming in the test car, but from what I hear its kind of car dependent. There's a thread on here with some...

Concerns after 1000 miles of ownership. Help appreciated.

#1 Thanks, I think an alignment is a good approach, as you mention the M3 tracks just like the MY. The 3P I had as a loaner was so effortless to keep it tracking straight and smooth. There must be a slight alignment issue that's making it sensitive. Even autopilot is a bit twitchy. #2 There is...

Concerns after 1000 miles of ownership. Help appreciated.

I’ve owned my 23 MYLR (freemont) for about 3 weeks now, and put 1000 miles on it over that timeframe. While I enjoy the car, there are a few key issues that keep me from loving the vehicle. Steering feel. While I appreciate the super quick steering rack ratio, I do find that on the freeway I...

Found a few dents in hood day after delivery, wasting my time with Tesla SC?

Hey Guys, picked up my MYLR a few days ago, and noticed the evening I brought it home there are two 1" long, .5" wide slight dents in the hood. Given its a white car, its really difficult to notice unless there is specific lighting above and you are looking at reflections in the hood. Even...

Lucky dog! I ordered a week earlier, but have the Tow package. Hoping for the matrix as well!

Waiting Room for MYLR/MYP : June 2023 orders

Debating my MYLR order, so many people grabbing the MYP! Really don't need the extra speed, but the cool factor is there and guaranteed matrix lights.
