What is the Tesla rated wH/mi for 2024 Model Y Long Range?

Oops. Is there a way to move this to the Model Y forum?

What is the Tesla rated wH/mi for 2024 Model Y Long Range?

For 2023, the EPA is saying the Model Y LR gets 330 miles of range with energy consumption at a rate of 28kWh/100 miles. That means you'd consume 92.4 kWh after driving 330 miles. But you're saying that the usable capacity of the battery pack is probably only about 78 kWh? I think I have more...

What is the Tesla rated wH/mi for 2024 Model Y Long Range?

I understand that the EPA updated their Wh/mi rating for the Model Y in 2024--and as a result, Tesla reduced the range they list on their website from 330 to 310. I'm trying to figure out what that Wh/mi is, and what Tesla's Wh/mi rating is (if they have a different number--I'm unclear on that...

2024 Model Y Long Range (MYLR) Tire Options

I recently upgraded to a 2024 MYLR after my M3 was in an accident (rear-ended while sitting at a red light--total loss :(). Overall I love my new vehicle--but wow, I feel like it's got a stiff suspension. From what I've read online, I'm not the only one. The Automotive Fanatic says he swapped...

Full Self Drive (FSD) Transfer for Q2 2024 (US)

Have you asked your Tesla "advisor" (salesperson)? Or whoever you've been corresponding with at Tesla about your order?

Double Pull Selection Deactivated with FSD, Cruise Control not available.

Got it. It stops Spotify, even if both profiles are connected to the same Spotify account. That's kinda annoying... But still better than stopping on the side of the road to switch from FSD to TACC.
  7. E

Double Pull Selection Deactivated with FSD, Cruise Control not available.

How do you switch while driving? While I'm parked I can tap on my name (which appears just to the right of the temperature, along the top of the display), but when I start driving the driver profile name disappears. Tapping in the area where the driver name would normally appear doesn't do anything.

Double Pull Selection Deactivated with FSD, Cruise Control not available.

Good call. I didn't realize you could switch profiles while driving. This is more of a headache than just one or two pulls--but it's better than having to pull over by the side of the road!
  9. E

Double Pull Selection Deactivated with FSD, Cruise Control not available.

Well, yes, that's what I've done--but then if I want to turn FSD back on I have to stop. FSD is far superior to Autosteer. I'd rather not have to choose between TACC/Autosteer and FSD for each drive. I have plenty of long drives where I want TACC for some portions and FSD for other portions...

Double Pull Selection Deactivated with FSD, Cruise Control not available.

Is there any way to roll back a software update? I'm kicking myself that I didn't realize this option was going away before I downloaded the update... If there's any way to roll back the update I would do it in a heartbeat.
  11. E

Double Pull Selection Deactivated with FSD, Cruise Control not available.

How do you "go back to beta?" I'm frustrated by this change as I want the option for FSD sometimes and TACC at others. This locks me out of TACC unless I stop the vehicle and opt out of FSD...

    BFGoodrich g-Force Comp-2 A/S Tires

So by now I imagine you've replaced the tires again--did you go back to Michelin's? Why or why not? Would love to hear how this entire experience played out for you.

    Model 3 alignment -- $275?

My 2018 Tesla Model 3 AWD is pulling to the left a bit, and I'm noticing the steering wheel is not zeroed out (it's slightly counter-clockwise in it's "natural" state). I put in a service request to Tesla, and their estimate to align it was $275. That seems excessive--I'm used to a four way...

Is it okay to charge to 100% if I am immediately going to use it right away?

I'm reading this article and I don't see anything about battery degradation, only battery discharge (which varies depending on temperature). Can you clarify where you're seeing stuff about battery degradation?
  15. E

Does charging at 11kw reduce battery life, vs 3-5kw?

This is an interesting article and exactly the kind of research I've been looking for: https://www.recurrentauto.com/research/impacts-of-fast-charging While it's only comparing DC fast charging and L1/L2 charging, it seems a reasonable extrapolation that if DC fast charging is causing "no...

Anyone else seeing graphs like this that don't align with trip card data?

Don't understand the energy consumption screen; doesn't agree with trip cards or actual kWh consumed?

I'm running FSD Beta 11.4.4 (2023.7.20). Is there a list somewhere that lets me see the latest?

Don't understand the energy consumption screen; doesn't agree with trip cards or actual kWh consumed?

Hi, I cannot reconcile the numbers provided on the energy consumption graph with the numbers on the trip cards. For instance, in the attached screenshot (taken by a passenger, don't worry :)), you can see that: The Energy Consumption graph says over the last 30 miles, I've averaged 428 Wh/mi...

Cannot connect to vehicle Summon using Android phone (iphone works)

Are you still getting this behavior?
  20. E

    Summon just says "Connecting" forever?

I've got a 2018 Tesla Model 3 AWD with FSD, and all the FSD features seem to work--except Summon. When I launch the Tesla app on my phone and tap Summon, it just says "Connecting" with a spinning circle--and it never changes. I've waited as long as 5 minutes. My phone and the Tesla both have...

How can you tell when your FSD trial expires?

Ha! Okay. I'll just enjoy it as long as it lasts. Knowing it's going to go away very soon, I think I'll spend some time trying to experiment with a different features. I haven't had a chance to use the summon feature yet. I think I've tried all the other stuff.

How can you tell when your FSD trial expires?

Prior owner got another Tesla and he said FSD was already transferred off this M3 to his new vehicle. Hence I was assuming what I was seeing on the M3 was just a trial that was going to expire.
  23. E

How can you tell when your FSD trial expires?

So what im hearing is that none of you have heard of Tesla offering a free trial of FSD to a purchaser of a used vehicle. Is that right?
  24. E

Trip Cards are back - Yea

Of course! Now I've got it. Thanks!

Trip Cards are back - Yea

Hmm. I just can't seem to figure this out. Here's what I see: The album art does actually show up as a musical note--but when I tap it I don't see anything about trips, or to display trip cards???
  26. E

How can you tell when your FSD trial expires?

I thought that when you take ownership of a vehicle for the first time, Tesla gives you an FSD trial for a month or two? That's what the owner who sold it to me thought was going to happen.
  27. E

Trip Cards are back - Yea

I cannot figure out where to get the musical note button... Can anyone share an image or two of how to find that?
  28. E

How can you tell when your FSD trial expires?

I recently bought a used model 3, and it seems to have come with a FSD trial. However, I can't figure out when the trial expires. I thought maybe it would show the expiration date on the vehicle info screen, but it just says the full self-driving package capability is "included package". Maybe...

Does charging at 11kw reduce battery life, vs 3-5kw?

Intuitively, this makes sense to me. But is there a source for this, beyond "it's what we all think is reasonable?"
  30. E

Does charging at 11kw reduce battery life, vs 3-5kw?

So it's conventional wisdom that supercharging will degrade your battery life, and that, as a rule of thumb, the slower you charge, the better it is for the battery. There must be a point of diminishing returns. For instance, is charging at 1kw going to be twice as good for your battery as...

Model 3 decision time: used now vs new later

Me neither. That's why I was confused by Unclepaul's saying I could "sell your current car now for some cash plus referral for $500." Anyway, I'll keep an eye out for a rock bottom new M3 priced at $39k. After tax credit and referral fee that would be only $31k. I would certainly go for that...

And where am I going to get a $500 referral fee for selling a car privately?
  33. E

Model 3 decision time: used now vs new later

I'll keep an eye out for discounted current year AWDs. I just checked and there's nothing under $45k--and I really do need a car now. My Traverse has been in the shop for 4 out of the last 10 weeks! Not sure I'm following, where would I sell my current M3 for $30,500 and get a $500 referral...

Model 3 decision time: used now vs new later

So, for those of you that are curious, here is how this landed: the dealership advertising that Model Y doesn't have it. They claimed they sold it already (but it's still advertised on their website, along with quite a few others under $40k). I drove out and checked out what they have. The...

Model 3 decision time: used now vs new later

So I'm planning to go out tomorrow and pick up the Model Y. However, it's a four drive for me. I'm renting a car one-way, and will drive the Model Y home. I had a friend warn me that the price is so low it could be "blacklisted" by Tesla and you can't supercharge it? How would I check that? I...

I'm thinking about pivoting to this MY: https://www.21centuryautogroup.com/used.cfm/vehicle/2020-tesla-model-y-long-range-awd-5YJYGDEE6LF049008/ I'ma it's got 40,000 fewer miles, it's 2 years newer, and it's $6,000 more. I prefer the model Y over the model 3 because I could use the extra...

Model 3 decision time: used now vs new later

What are the differences between the 2018 M3 LR and the 2022+ M3 LR? I have been reading something about the heating system being different between the two model years?
  40. E

Model 3 decision time: used now vs new later

So I'm in the market for an M3, and I've got eyes on a 2018 Model 3 long range with about 72k miles on it, available for $30k. I've run the VIN through Edmunds and that seems to be about right given condition (this is a single owner vehicle that's in outstanding condition). No FSD but it does...
