    H&R Adventure Spring Lift anyone?

What do you mean "make it worse"? It's common for people to want to raise or lower their vehicle.

    H&R Adventure Spring Lift anyone?

Anyone got some insight on these? Will raise the Model Y 1.2"; and seems to be a better option than those cheap aluminum spacers https://www.hrsprings.com/application/search/results/55/2464/2020/

Best Tire Options for MYP in 2024?

Suspension is the largest factor, but it's been well documented that thin tires on large wheels make the ride harsher on road imperfections.

Best Tire Options for MYP in 2024?

One thing I didn't like was how punishing the ride was with those thin stretched OEM tires.

What about doing 265/35 in the front and 285/35 in the rear?

Best Tire Options for MYP in 2024?

I slightly disagree with you that the wider tires offer no wheel protection. On the OEM tires, even with that "rim lip", the wheels still protruded a few mm past the rubber. The other day, I slightly bumped my rear tire against a curb on a Panera driver-through turn; fortunately it hit the...

Best Tire Options for MYP in 2024?

Like many here, I've moved the 275/35/21 tires in the front and traded in those 255/35/21's for Michelin 295/35/21 Pilot Sport All Season 4 in the rear. While this greatly reduced the potential for curb rash, I don't like the 5 to 8% drop in efficiency, the louder tire noise in the rear (295's...

MYP 295/35/21 and 275/35/21 tire size options and Reduced efficiency?

I can still get 260 to 280 Wh/mi with that setup, but have to drive efficiently. Usually it's closer to 300 Wh/mi though.

Why only 40 miles per hour on Gen 3 Tesla Wall Charger for MYP?

That is an interesting idea! I wonder if I changed the tires size to 19" square in the sevice menu, and I'd magically get the 44 mph.

Why only 40 miles per hour on Gen 3 Tesla Wall Charger for MYP?

I have two plug in vehicles. I was using a 3rd party charger that was rated at 240/16A for the 14-50R. There was a regional incentive to get reimbursed for the majority of the cost to add a wall charger with the install. Charging the vehicle is nearly 3x as fast now, which I appreciate, but I...

Why only 40 miles per hour on Gen 3 Tesla Wall Charger for MYP?

Not range anxiety, just disappointed that I made the investment for the direct wire unit and install, and not getting the advertised rates. Before I was using a NEMA 14-50 outlet at 240/16 amps. I could of easily just purchased the $200 240/40A Tesla portable corded charger and got similar...

Why only 40 miles per hour on Gen 3 Tesla Wall Charger for MYP?

The numbers I've monitored on the app were 239 to 240 volts under load and 40 to 41 MPH charging on the MYP. I was hoping to get the constant 44 shown on the chart. The electrician said that this use to be the case, but the software (or design) of the MYP '22-'23 changed somewhere, and now they...

Why only 40 miles per hour on Gen 3 Tesla Wall Charger for MYP?

As Tesla advertised, the electrician stated that the regular model Y's get 44 miles range per hour (running at 240V and drawing 48 amps). However, for some reason, his experience is that the Model Y Performance only gets 40 to 41 mph. Why is this the case when the battery packs are basically...

Asheville or Charlotte suspension shop for coilover installation?

It's okay, but if you have the tools, I would just do it yourself and save the money. The Tesla 3/Y is not really hard to take out the shocks and struts.

Sold Tesla 20" Factory Uberturbines Wheels

I may have one somewhere. In some ways, the 20" Uberturbines are superior than the 21" that come stock with the car. They are significantly lighter, better efficiency (I've measured it), it's a square setup, and you have much more variety in tire choices. Also the ride is not as bumpy, as you...

Original OEM 20" Uberturbine wheels with tires. These wheels are from a Model 3 Performance and will fit BOTH All Model Y trims and a Model 3. This is a nice option on a Tesla Y if you want a square setup. Tires are Yokohama Geolandar 255/45/20 and contain the factory TPMS sensors. However...

Where are the light sensors on the Matrix headlights?

So how does the vehicle determine when it's dark to turn on the projectors?
  20. M

Where are the light sensors on the Matrix headlights?

I noticed sometimes when I pull into the garage, the left projector goes off. It could be because the a light sensing sensor is being obstructed. Anyone know where the sensor is that detects night/day?

Sold TSportline Lift Kit Model Y/3

Selling for $299 shipped. Was installed and used for a couple weeks. I removed them because I am going to try coilovers. Good condition with all the parts (and original box)! Went from ground clearance of 6.2" to 8" (even more with off-road tires). Definitely useful for Overlanding. Install...

What is the consensus on the optimal tire size for the MYP with 21" Uberturbines?

I just moved the 275's to the front and got the 295 Michelin Pilot Sports A/S in the rear. Ride and looks are noticeably better. Handling is the same, if not better. More rim protection in the rear is nice too.

What is the exact difference between the two? Has the spring rate on all 4 coils changed, and what about the front struts and rear shocks?

Anyone have experience with Hiro Performance/SF Racing Coilovers?

Apparently, Hiro uses many of the same parts from SF Racing. Wanted to know if anyone knows of the company for lowering and lifting applications as they are much less expensive than some of the premium brands.

Will Tesla offer suspension upgrade ?

This is not accurate. Due to the different rear motors, the MYP does 0 to 60 in 3.5 seconds reliably, and has a top speed of 155. Reports are that the Model Y LR with Acceleration boost gets about 4.4 seconds to 60 and still is stuck at 135 mph top speed. The Performance is rated at 455 hp...

Anyone familar or try the Spaccer suspension system?

Spaccers are rings that can be installed under/over your coil springs to adjust height. They seem to be popular with Europe OEMs, but the level of difficulty of install and availability is lacking in the U.S. https://www.spaccer.com/en_US/makes-and-models/tesla/model-y-9797

  34. M

anyone fit the Model 3 Uberturbines 20 in on their Model Y?

I've tried the 255/45/20 on my MYP; but square setup. Not sure why you would want to have a 20" rear/21" front, when you can easily do: 255/40/21 on the front and 265/40/21 in the rear. The suspension on the vehicle has a greater impact on ride quality than the tire's sidewall tbo.

  36. M

19 inch vs 20 inch wheels ride quality

The suspension (ie struts, springs and shocks) are the biggest factor. Larger sidewalls on tires will help, but mostly just with less jarring feel on impacts.

2022 MYP Steering rack Failure. Tesla DENYING warranty coverage due to aftermarket wheels 20x10 with 275 40 20 set up

2022 MYP Steering rack Failure. Tesla DENYING warranty coverage due to aftermarket wheels 20x10 with 275 40 20 set up

I've heard stories about this, even with Tesla Mobile Service...if they saw non-Tesla wheels they would not perform service on them. This is why many of us with Model Ys will only use the approved wheels such as the 19" Gemini, 20" Inductions or 21" Uberturbines only.

2022 MYP Steering rack Failure. Tesla DENYING warranty coverage due to aftermarket wheels 20x10 with 275 40 20 set up

2022 MYP Steering rack Failure. Tesla DENYING warranty coverage due to aftermarket wheels 20x10 with 275 40 20 set up

MYP 21" Square Wheel Setup - 275 vs 255 wide tires

20" wheel; square setup. No tire size ratio option yet though.
  48. M

What is the consensus on the optimal tire size for the MYP with 21" Uberturbines?

Larger wheels are always heavier, they are also cast so that doesn't help either.
