FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

Really starting to get sick of V12 ignoring user input on speed and minimal lane changes. I fear we are going to keep losing control over FSD in pursuit of autonomy that is 5+years away. So many disengagements and interventions on V12 because of this compared to V11.

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

I have noticed no real difference. I don't think there will be any large behavior changes until we get 12.4.

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

FSD is just starting to annoy the crap out of me - the crazy acceleration followed by immediate Regen, slow speeds requiring the need to work the throttle, ignoring lane boundaries, and indecision over lane choices are all frustrating. Looking forward to the next update that hopefully fixes it.
  4. N

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

V12 is definitely better than V11 but way less predictable which I don't like. Same route I took yesterday with zero disengagements has 4 today, including it jumping into a turn lane which has never happened before.

Make your robotaxi predictions for the 8/8 reveal

They will have a steering wheel-less prototype with an ambiguous release date like the Cybertruck and Roadster for an unsupervised car. I really hope they release a compact for normal use though since as a single guy living in a city I rarely if ever even need the full size of the M3 I'm...

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

I'm getting more used to auto speed lately. It generally has made similar decisions Id make. They need to make it way easier to slow down though. Scrolling down a couple notches on the wheel when on auto should be a signal for FSD slow down some. I don't want to have to scroll for 5 seconds to...

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

Had a 90 minute loop around DC and NoVA today on 12.3.3. Only 1 disengagement and very few accelerator presses. The disengagement was serious though. Unprotected left. The car made a great decision on when to go. Cars coming from the left turned into their right turn lane and the car made the...

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

I'm also kinda nervous that they are going to get rid of minimize lane changes too to "fix the problem of user input" , which will make parts of my commute useless on FSD.
  9. N

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

It's not as good. Manual speed is just auto speed except you set the cap. There are occasions where it goes way under what I have it set and I need to goose the throttle some to get it up to speed. Overall speed control, acceleration, braking, and lane center are seemingly was worse on V12...

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

I'm almost certain NHTSA is going to ban auto speed in its current form as a driver assist. It is aggressive now Fully take responsibility for this but almost certainly expecting a speed camera ticket in the mail soonish haha. 45 in a 30 is excessive. Switched to manual control which feels better.

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

The acceleration and braking for sure are giving me motion sickness on V12. If be fine with a harsh acceleration if it wasn't met by braking once it gets to speed. Can be nauseating. Also the braking feels even more unnatural on 12.3.3. V11 braking seemed a bit better. For sure am not seeing...

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

Impressive trip through downtown DC today. Handled some of the major traffic circles very well. Handled some complex pedestrian issues and cars stopped in the middle of the road well. Only real annoyance I have now is acceleration being too much at times and yellow light behavior. Slamming...

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

I wonder if with the move to "supervised" Whole Mars will be forced by Tesla to remove the no nag cheat device? Surprised they even let him keep in as a condition to get early access to V12.
  14. N

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

There's still some issues with that especially on curves. Someone I was driving with today was concerned how far to the right it was on a curved highway ramp today. I generally think being centered should be the default in most cases. Should be easy to train.

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

Took 12.3.2.1 on a trip through Seven Corners in NoVA. Struggled a lot here, which even humans do given the awful road design. It did get stuck in the middle of the intersection when a light turned red so I had to disengage and make a turn just to not block traffic. A few other bad navigation...

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

Morning drive with 12.3.2.1 went very well. It's amazing how much better it is than 12.3 in the DC area. Actually worth the monthly subscription. I do think it accelerates a bit too quick for my liking on both chill and normal. Only real issue I have (I also don't want to eat through my tires)...

Received 12.3.2.1 and it fixed all my issues. Legit mindblowing and autopark is fantastic already

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

12.3 was a bit better on the commute today but again way worse than 11.4.9. 10 pedal presses on a 20 minute drive to get it up to speed and a few poor lane choices the previous version didn't have. Oh well....I miss V11. If it keeps up I for sure will be pausing my FSD subscription for a bit...

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

Really hoping to get 12.3.1 soon. My commute was so bad on FSD again today. On v11 usually only had one speed intervention I needed to do. Today I had 2 safety interventions, 1 lane intervention, and 7 speed interventions. It almost ran into a parked car on the side of the road on a right turn...

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

Why is V12 so bad now at changing street speeds? It kept the 5 mph limit at my apartment parking lot for 2 miles and refused to go above 20 even on manual speed. I absolutely am hating V12 so far. I can't even use it on my commute anymore. Changed back to normal AP and it was way better.
  21. N

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

FSD badly needs HD map data. This is a major weak point right now...poor data into the NN just means bad decisions.
  22. N

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

V12 doesn't seem to be very predictable. It's making independent decisions Everytime. In the long term that's the correct way forward but right now, at least for me, it's more stressful to use than V11 because I can't figure out where it will fail. There are times it's been great ok an open...
  23. N

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

I'm curious how they handle that since AP improvements will just eat into FSD sales. I probably would cancel my subscription if AP used the highway stack.
  24. N

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

V12 in my commute today was definitely worse than V11. Just far too slow and it gets too close to the center line way too often. It felt like a drunk was driving at times with it swerving in the lane and alternating speeds. It's sign detection seems worse too. Definitely didn't recognize a few...
  25. N

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

It sometimes ignores it....hard to predict right now. It generally ignores a lot of user input to include speed selection.
  26. N

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

I'll try it in a few other places today. You probably are right. Old Town here is a very hard drive given the narrow streets and amount of pedestrians. I was planning on doing a more suburb drive which it probably will do way better at.
  27. N

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

For the first time in months I've actually had critical safety disengagements on my first day of V12. 1. Tried to run a red light. To be fair was a bit difficult to tell since the sun was rising and shining directly into the light, but still was a bit scary. 2. Can confirm it takes corners too...

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

V12 is obnoxiously slow on the first drives I've had with it tonight. Turns are a bit smoother but I don't know how much of that is just do to a slower speed. Braking and acceleration need some work. It goes from 0-20 in a blink. Lane selection and changes were fantastic though and leads me to...

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

Didn't get this wave :( I think this is now the longest I've went without an update on my car. It's been over 3 months since the last one.

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

V12 still mostly going out to CA drivers?
  31. N

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

Maybe it's just me, but I am far less likely to use V12 unless they keep a robust prediction visual on the screen. From a trust perspective I don't like the disconnect now that exists between what's in screen and what decision V12 makes. Seems very unsafe until we get to actual L4 territory.

If Omar says it's disappointing it must be very bad
  33. N

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

Repeated drives are good for regression testing. I'd much rather see Chucks route than some cherry picked Whole Mars route.
  34. N

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

Hopefully that's removed when it goes out to everyone. There's a ton of spots here in DC where it has the speed limit at 15 mph on a ramp merging into a highway that I have to manually override. I feel like the initial release is gonna be a bit of a hassle to relearn all the quarks.

    FSD Beta v11.x

11.4.9 really has gotten worse in DC traffic for me. I have Progressive and my phone monitors all the driving stats since you save like 30 percent on insurance with it turned on. I'm getting hard braking dings on my insurance almost every drive to work now with this new version. Really likes to...
  37. N

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

Looks like a V12 FSD video leaked on Twitter. Does not seem much better than (V11) as expected. Still makes some weed decisions. Turning seems a bit smoother but that's hard to tell over video

I can see them holding back releasing V12 outside of California until after winter.

    Really incoming FSD 12.1 ?

So we're just a few weeks away from public release then? Really curious how V12 will work outside of California. Wouldn't surprise me if the model is overiftted to clips from Cali and is a vast improvement for users there but users else where will see a degredation initially.

    2023 S/W Holiday Update

Still no update on my car. Really wonder why I seem to get mine about a week after everyone else despite having my settings on advanced. Never have I ever been in one of the initial pushes

Poll: When will FSD V12 be in wide release?

The blind spot indicator now on the Highlands is all based on vision. I don't think that's the reason.

    FSD Beta v11.x

I love Omar going to check the cameras in the clip....like it's not the crappy software. His videos are always infuriating because he never disengages and doesn't mind holding up traffic while the car goes 1 mph down a narrow street while jerking the steering wheel back and forth. Surprised he...

    FSD Beta v11.x

I still don't get why there are two branches for V11 FSD. From an ease of programming perspective it seems like it'd be easier to merge the whole fleet to the same updates.

    Launch is Imminent

I've gotten a lot of entertainment tonight from the typical X Musk shills claiming the removal battery pack is the greatest idea Tesla has ever came up with.

How many of you will/may transition to CyberTruck?

I want a CyberCar that is Model 3 sized. I feel like massive truck sized EVs are a huge waste both of space and electricity.

    Launch is Imminent

Watching the event now and it almost seems like Musk is embarrassed by this car. Definitely seems like a business mistake that they wouldn't pursue if they knew the difficulties making it. The fact the event itself has so few details minus "it goes super fast" is interesting. The battery packs...

    2023 Holiday Update Wishlist

I really want a better route planner like capabilities in the car for longer trips. The default in car app wanted me to stay at a Supercharger for 50 minutes while it got to over 90 percent. ABRP split that up. Over the course of driving back from MI to VA yesterday ABRP got us in an hour...

    Elon: FSD Beta tweets

From the sounds of that tweet seems like V12 isn't as good as V11 right now but has a way higher ceiling.
