2022 Plaid dead after pyro fuse replacement

Rapidly, it is just a guess but it sounds to me like your HV contactors are not closing. Do you ever here a "clunk" come from under the car after it wakes up? If the contactors don't close, then the little LV battery doesn't have the capacity to handle much. You could try connecting a power...

2022 Plaid dead after pyro fuse replacement

The VCFront I installed for my 21+ MS was part number 1585663-00-D (see first link below). I would check the epc.tesla.com website to validate if you have a different model/year. It is literally 3 bolts and a ground and is easy to access. It is mounted on the forward passenger side of the air...

2022 Plaid dead after pyro fuse replacement

I bought both modules new from Tesla. $240 for the VCFront and $190 for the VCBatt.

2022 Plaid dead after pyro fuse replacement

Not at ALL!!! The noise was pretty spectacular. The shop that supposedly "repaired" the car after the accident, installed the LH curtain airbag on the RH side and vise versa and didn't have all the fasteners attached. So when the airbags deployed, one of the loose fasteners flew up and...

2022 Plaid dead after pyro fuse replacement

The RCM had crash history so I was going to remove it to have the memory cleared. I was having trouble removing the plugs on the RCM so I unbolted it and as soon as I moved the module, it detected a crash and deployed the airbags.

2022 Plaid dead after pyro fuse replacement

I am very new to the world of Tesla so my knowledge is very limited. But on my 2021 Model S, the screens went black after an accidental airbag deployment. Even after replacing the pyro fuse the screens were black... and the ECU would not communicate with Toolbox. I replaced the VCBatt and it...

2021 Model S Rear Liftgate Cinching Actuator Problems

I recently purchased a 2021 Model S and I am having problems with the liftgate not closing properly. The liftgate closes fine and gets to the latch where the cinching actuator actuates (maybe a second or so) and then releases. The liftgate stays latched but the liftgate shows cracked open on...

Toolbox use on Model S Plaid

It turns out that I set up the Legacy mode settings wrong on the box. The box does work... just user error. =-( Toolbox is connecting to car now.

Toolbox use on Model S Plaid

Uugh, I am SO frustrated trying to get this thing to work. I have tried every dozens of times and can't seem to get this MachSystems media converter to talk to the car. I continue to get "traffic to odin" locked and then it times out trying seceth unlock. I have followed all the steps setting...

    2021 Model S Plaid dead

Not that I know of. I think most people with this symptom have found the VCBatt to fix the problem. Mine was the VCFront. I have put my original VCBatt module back in and the cars powers up fine. I still have a BUNCH or error codes associated with the VCFront but at least I have screens on,

    2021 Model S Plaid dead

They are both pretty cheap at Tesla: VCFront P/N:1585663-20-D $240 VCBatt P/N:1588205-00-D $190 (these are for the model S plaid... the X may be different)

    2021 Model S Plaid dead

I just had the EXACT same issue with mine. I would start with the VCFront module (mounted on the front passenger side on the superbeam) and if that doesn't work, then try the VCBatt located on the aft side on the driver strut tower.

    VCBatt / VCLeft questions

Since I already learned the hard way with moving the RCM while the LV battery was plugged in... I am a little gun shy. I don't want to unplug anything on the VCFront with things running unless I know for certain it won't hurt anything.

    VCBatt / VCLeft questions

After an accidental airbag deployment in my 21 MS (long story and I’d like to save myself the embarrassment) I lost power to all screens and even the MCU. I have seen others on here posting with similar symptoms so I purchased a new VCBatt and new VCFront from Tesla. I started with the VCBatt...

Toolbox use on Model S Plaid

I plugged the box in to a Windows 10 computer and it worked flawlessly.

What should the dip switch settings be for the initial setup?

Toolbox use on Model S Plaid

I apologize for being computer inept but I am having trouble with step 2 of the article above (see below). I am using my son's laptop with trash Windows 11 on it and it will not recognize the machsystems media converter as a comm port... so I can't change the initialization setting... so it...

Phytools is where I bought the media convertor.

2022 Plaid dead after pyro fuse replacement

Yes, I sent the RCM off to get cleared and it is re-installed. I went to use Toolbox last night for the first time and realized the interface cable I purchased will not work so I ordered a 100-1000Base-T1 Media Converter H-MTD and cable today... and hopefully it will be here next week.

2022 Plaid dead after pyro fuse replacement

Yes, both before and after. When I plugged in the LV battery, I could hear the coolant pumps turn on momentary (and shut off after a few seconds), the door handles would open (with lights on), the windows worked, as well as hazzard, brake and interior lights. But other than that, everything...

2022 Plaid dead after pyro fuse replacement

Mac, did you ever get your car up and running? I have exactly the same issue and have seen others with the same black screens... but haven't seen anyone with a solution/fixed car yet. Unfortunately, mine was self-inflicted by removing the RCM with the LV battery connected.

    VCFRONT

Rick, I have EXACTLY the same issue as you... unfortunately, mine was self-inflicted. My car was running perfectly but I decided to remove the RCM to clear original crash history but neglected to disconnect the LV battery connected and deployed my curtain airbags. I have replaced the airbags...

Salvage 2022 Model Y LR. High Voltage Battery contactors not closing. Car has the new Li-Ion 12v battery.

@Nintendo80 or @evrepair, Can one of y'all send me a PM? I guess I am too new to the forum to be able to do that (or I am just not smart enough to figure out to do it). I have a 2021 Model S and it was running great but the RCM crash data was full. So, like Snow, I made the FOOLISH mistake of...

Leecox, you mentioned that you need to find someone to change the Tesla Gateway Configuration. I am brand new to Tesla so where would someone go for that service? I called my local Tesla service center in East Texas and they said it is not possible.
