They have to get FSD working because they need some unique "shtick" to differentiate themselves from Chinese EV makers that are currently racing to the bottom with prices. They aren't going to survive on brand name alone. The US is only 33% of their market.

As I said maybe most of the training videos have been done in dense narrow urban areas where things in more open areas are uncommon..like multiple left turn lanes or wide 4 lane streets. We may need to do a poll to see where people who think v12 is awesome vs those who think it is nowhere close...

Yes being stuck with the path the map has created sucks if you know an alternative path that is physically longer is actually faster timewise or comfortwise. This is my #1 reason for disengagements. Not liking a certain part of the route.

I don't disagree with what you are saying..but remember it has been over ~3.5 years since Waymo opened driverless cars to the general public in Chandler, AZ (and this was after YEARS of private testing) October 8, 2020...

How often do you get deep snow or have landscapes that looks like the inside of a freezer? You aren't that only ones with tough driving issues.

I'm beginning to think FSD is more comfortable in dense housing areas rather than wide multi-laned more "open" areas. Where I am in the dense housing areas of the NorthEast with mostly one or two laned roads it is unreal..and the funny thing is I think it drives even more confidently at night...

Well that's beyond the control of Tesla. Even Waymo has trouble getting city approvals and they have been at it for a long long long time.

Maybe it first goes to people who have setup their car to their home WiFi...maybe even with Fiber speed.

I think it will fail the side impact crash test miserably.
