    Supercharger - Pecos, TX

We stayed in Pecos last week on a Monday night and the oil boom has gone crazy in the city. We went to 3 eating establishments and could not get seated at any. Just trying to find an RV Park with an opening was an adventure as was simply trying to get into a convenience store to buy gas. I...

    Supercharger - El Paso, Tx

I stopped by the Rudys today and there are several good locations in the back of the Rudys that would accommodate the Tesla SC. The Hampton and HIE are only a couple hundred yards next door. The Carl Jr is across the street. All in all a great location in my humble opinion.

    Supercharger - Ozona, TX

If other chargers are an indication I would say no. We used a SC on our way back from Kansas City to Dallas (not sure which one) and it was at a hotel that was closed and in the middle of a massive remodel from one chain to a Marriott I believe. SC worked fine. We walked a block or two to a...

Nav 8.0 - UI not made for driving

I wish they would auto hide the climate control bar at the bottom. It would really open more map space on the display. Might be some other reason they did not make that change.

How does the updated 90D get 300 miles range??

My 12month old, 16,000 mile 85D has 243 miles of rated range at 90% charge. I charge it about twice a week.

    Tesla range anxiety

I totally eliminated any chance of Model S range anxiety... by owning and driving a Nissan Leaf for 3 years... The practical highway range on my Leaf was about 68 miles... I used it to commute round trip to my volunteer job that was 58 miles round trip. The "range" meter on the Leaf is...

    Overnight Test Drive Option?

I went to the Gallery here in Dallas and after an hour sitting in a show car, ordered mine without ever having a test drive. I had one "scheduled" for 10 days later because the State of Texas would not issue any more permits for Tesla to offer Test drives that month. I am so glad I ordered...

If gas were $0.66 per gallon......

Here in Texas electricity rates have dropped with the price of gas. Last month I drove 1131 miles and charging completely at home cost me $8.37. Comparatively even at $1.59 for Diesel that same distance would have cost me $99 in my truck. I am fortunate to live in an area where electricity is...

Cruise Control Not Available (Autopilot too)

+1 on DCGOO.... Every time mine is facing a late afternoon or morning sun I get it disabled... I sure hope they can resolve this with a future firmware upgrade

Body Shop Repair Costs--for me, a deal killer?

A good paintless dent repair guy can easily fix your marble size dents... I got one singe hail stone dent in my frunk and $50 later even I could not see it... Interestingly enough the tech said that the quality of the paint job on the Tesla was excellent... He said it rivaled some high end...

Autopilot is perfect for long highway commutes

Because I retired 5 years ago I really only "commute" one day a week to my volunteer job that is 30 miles away... I come home in Dallas rush hour traffic at 6:30pm and it is soooo relaxing... The worse the traffic the more relaxing it is... I lay my head back on the head rest.... Keep a couple...

Body Shop Repair Costs--for me, a deal killer?

I think MrElbe's post #21 shows the Tesla repairs can be "realistic". I would certainly get another estimate and dig deeper into what is going on.

    Supercharger - Lindale, Texas

Regardless of the specific locations I hope Tesla gets on with the I20 corridor. It needs to run past Jackson to Meridian and Birmingham at least to tie into the Atlanta area SC options. Probably equally important as I30 I would think.

LTE Upgrade, Did YOU Do It?

Although most say it has no effect on the browser, I was shocked yesterday playing with my saved favorites on the web to see they were markedly faster unloading and changing. Might have been the firmware upgrade? But definitely faster than when I took delivery last April.

    Cheap Power!!!

    Cheap Power!!!

If you are interested I signed up for a 3 month power supply agreement I found on Powertochoose.org from Infinite Energy that provides 1000 kwh for $0.015 per kwh... Catch is you need to use at least 1000 and less than 2000 per month to get the best rate. It fit's my house and charging needs...

    Free nighttime electricity in Texas!

I was surprised and glad to see that Chris was really making the "free" nightime electrcity work for him... ($0.033 per kwh avg) I never assume Free is really free so I generally just stick to switching power providers often to keep my rate down. I currently pay $ 0.055 regardless of when I use...

Any word on Superchargers near Greenville or Sulphur Springs (on I30 from Dallas)

At about 112 miles to Paris from Grapevine you could actually do that RT in an 85D with little concern. But more importantly don't overlook the 110V charge adapter. If you are visiting friends or family over a holiday you probably spend lots of time socializing and leaving the Tesla connected to...

    Tesla Superchargers Springfield Illinois

Yes the Nav routed me through Louisiana MO... That is why I was somewhat surprised at the Road Closed ahead sign. How much are you saving from your Model S Charging Costs vs Gas for your Car?

My S85D costs me $0.011 per mile to drive on an average month with one Supercharge trip included. In Texas we have a deregulated energy policy so we pay only $0.055 per kWh for house hold electricity. The Dodge Ram 2500 that does not get driven costs me $0.135 per mile to drive even at today's...

The real cost of charging my Model S at home

Last month I put 1034 miles on my S85D and it cost me $17.34 for the power. No solar just inexpensive energy here in Texas where the energy industry is deregulated.

Mine got hit on the 4th day I had it. (A Saturday ) I emailed Tesla on Monday. They replaced in on Tuesday. Original quote was $1,100. When the finished they said the install went faster than anticipated and the final bill was $648. I was one happy camper. No insurance. Just Cash.

In "News from the Frunk" it was mentioned the beta testers signed NDA's so we won't hear much from them. I have received 2 firmware updates in the last week mainly working on refinements to TACC and Collision Avoidance. Mine seems better with every upgrade. Especially at higher speeds. 60-80mph
