    Wiki Model S Delivery Update

Just yesterday I was assigned a 2022 VIN for a Model S LR. I asked to be placed on hold and they are giving me just a 7 day hold period. Hopefully that will be long enough to get a 2023 VIN.

If you're California, the economics in favor of a solar solution will likely get worse soon

Question for the folks who seem to be in the know here: If I am net generator of power at the annual true up period, I only get reimbursed at the wholesale rate correct? So whether I have battery backup or use a lot/little during the peak usage, it won't affect my bill because I am generating...

Anyone Interested in Founders Series Powerwall

I am interested. I installed just a single Powerwall about a year ago and now wish I had installed another for whole house backup. Message me as I also can't message you as well.

PowerWall Cold Start without Grid Power

Yes, 10kW and my normal usage is about 0.7kW. @woferry's post seems to indicate that 5kw while on grid should be normal.

PowerWall Cold Start without Grid Power

My solar roof generates 10kw peak and I understand that the maximum the Powerwall will be able to receive is 5kw. I ask about the 3.3kw vs the 5kw because some posts have suggested that the Powerwall is optimized for 3.3kw and thus does so under normal on-grid operation. However, it is spec'd...

PowerWall Cold Start without Grid Power

In reading this thread, should my single Powerwall (which is hooked up to solar) be charging at 3.3kw or 5kw? Currently it is charging from solar at 3.3kw and I plan to do an off grid test to see if it will bump to 5kw when 100% off grid.

My proposed system can't power my AC

If I have a Tesla Powerwall installed by a third party who was not Tesla/Solar City. Does Tesla still service my PowerWall and would they make this frequency change? Is there a phone number I'm supposed to call? There is a Service Request link for Powerwalls on the Tesla website, but I think...

MCU stuck in boot up loop...

I had this exact same problem. Do you happen to have a USB drive plugged in? If so, try removing it and doing a reset to see if the problem remains. In my case, that solved the issue. And just to validate, I plugged the USB drive back in and it caused the boot loop. I guess some times these...

    New X Owner Question

A friend of mine just took delivery of their Model X. He didn’t get a leather keyfob holder for his key. Is that normal? When I picked up my Model X last year, it was still provided. Perhaps things have changed? Thanks in advance for the info.

Here it is the new Tesla Maps ( coming this weekend? )

I am in a loaner S100D running MCU2, so I am running the new maps version. In my old car, routing a particular destination would always have me hop off the freeway at a particular exit and jump back on the freeway at the next entrance. I’d always ignore the suggestion and stay on the freeway as...

    Firmware Update 2018.12

I am currently in a loaner Tesla with MCU2 and running the vector maps. Coming from an MC1 car, I immediately noticed the difference in the Instrument Cluster. However, I also noticed greater detail in the main touch screen if you zoom in enough. I was able to see the layout of parking lots in...

    Model X Climate Temperature Issue?

I noticed that my Model X's climate controls seem to be miscalibrated. Specifically, when it's cold outside, let's say 50 degrees F, and I set the climate temperature to 81 degrees F, the air coming out of the vents would be best described as lukewarm. If I increment it one more degree, it...

    2017.32.6 ca28227

My commute is all local so I usually test the Auto Pilot on local streets. With this update (in addition to noticing two cars ahead), the car appears to notice the car in front at a greater distance and seems to react more appropriately. I get a smoother driving experience as a result. In...

    Streaks on interior window

I had this issue on my X as well. When I took it to the service center, they mentioned that they see this a lot and it comes from some residue on the inside of the door in newly manufactured X's. They take the door apart and wipe off certain parts to remove the residue. Upon initial...

Multiple CA Supercharger locations down in past 5 months: breakdowns, vandalism, or theft?

On my way from Los Angeles to Vegas, I supercharged at the Barstow Supercharger. There was a friendly pair of technicians working near the power cabinets. I asked them if they were working on something to address the theft of the breaker issue a while back. He replied that they were: 1...

    100D Order Updates?

@InsaneDriver My order page showed that as well for 5-6 weeks. Only recently did it change into, your car is in production. My DS then called me shortly giving me an actually timeline (early March!) I wouldn't worry about it too much as your car is still in the queue for actual production.

    Model X Energy Consumption

90D with about 12k miles and 20" tires here. I am averaging 358 wh/mile. My car also had the loud compressor issue and I tracked efficiency both before and after the fix. It was worth about a 30 wh/mile increase in efficiency in my case.

    X: What's your 90%?

Here's an odd but sad update. My 90D started at 236 from the factory at 90 percent. It has been declining from 236 to 223 over 7300 miles. After talking to the service center, they tested the battery by charging up to 100 percent but left it over night for hours at 100 percent (249 btw). That...

Some California Superchargers not providing maximum charging rates

Was at Burbank Supercharger this morning around 9:30am. There were one or two free stalls and the temperature was about 73 degrees. 50kW charge rate at 1B. When my paired partner left 1A, I unplugged and replugged and it was still 50kW. SOC was about 50%. Based on temp and the early time of...

    First Model X with 8.0

Teslafi.com shows two X's with the v8 update, but if you look at the VIN, it seems too high to be an X. Maybe the owners labeled their cars incorrectly. FWIW, Teslafi firmware version is pulled programmatically and is not self reported. Unfortunately, the model of the car/SUV is self reported :(.

    TeslaFi.com

I have not used Teslalog before. The closest was another system that sent me a weekly report of miles driven. Here is another data point. I just started using the sleep functionality on your website so from midnight to 7am, the X is successfully sleeping. Perhaps it is something I am doing...

This is a great app @Jdeck and really is a datalover's dream. Quick question for everyone: When you enable sleep in the configuration, does the car sleep for a very long time? I get cycles of Idle for about 45 minutes and then 6 minutes of sleep and then back to a 45 minute of idle from there...

Some California Superchargers not providing maximum charging rates

I charged at Burbank today (charger 2B) and was getting 35kW at 40%. Normally it would be the 80kW-90kW range. I called the Supercharger support line and they said my car was fine and that there were reports of speed issues at Burbank recently. This was with the new handles.
  29. J

    X: What's your 90%?

X90D after 5200 miles. I'm at 225 miles at 90% now. I still haven't had an opportunity to recalibrate, but I started at 238 when I first picked up the car on March 30th. That is about 5% degradation in less than six months of ownership.

Some California Superchargers not providing maximum charging rates

Fountain Valley looked good today too. I was able to charge at normal rates from 35%-90% with the usual taper as the battery filled up. Looks like Tesla has resolved a lot of the issues.

Very loud fan noise from frunk area with AC on...

Yes, Van Nuys was my second Service Center. My first SC is closer, but I drove the distance to Van Nuys to get the issue resolved once and for all, based on a recommendation here on the forums. Glad I did! @xkwizit, I'd totally recommend a relook by either the same SC explaining your issue or...

Very loud fan noise from frunk area with AC on...

If your X sounds louder than a Model S, then I'd suggest taking it to another Service Center and asking them to check it out. I told the second SC, that it was absolutely not normal and I had another X park next to mine and it was much quieter when he and I had our AC on at the same time. This...

Very loud fan noise from frunk area with AC on...

I got my X back from the Service Center, and lo and behold, they found that I had crossed condenser lines. This, despite another service center stating that I did not have the issue. Well, long story short, the car is much quieter now when the AC is on. I would imagine that if it gets really...

    Weird Supercharger Incident (Reduced Charge)

Similar issue happened to me while I charged in Fountain Valley, CA. There is a discussion in the California Supercharger thread hypothesizing that it is related to local utilities charging Tesla high rates during peak power usage. But upon hitting on this thread and seeing how wide spread the...

Some California Superchargers not providing maximum charging rates

I was at the Fountain Valley SC yesterday around 6pm and experienced the same issue. Initially plugged it in and got 102kW. After about 10 minutes, it dropped to 28kW! I did not try to plug/unplug and could not move since other stalls were full.

    Supercharger - Fountain Valley (LIVE 28 Aug 2015, Expanded 27 Oct 2017, 16 stalls)

Was there yesterday and charging initially seemed to kickoff well at 102kW. However, after about 10 minutes, dropped to 28kW and stayed that way throughout the entire charge cycle. It took me about 50 minutes to go from 30% to 84% charge.

    X: What's your 90%?

I will give it a shot. So run it down to single digits and then a charge to 100%. Will do. I'm taking in the X for service tomorrow so will have to try this when I get it back.

Very loud fan noise from frunk area with AC on...

@ABCD: Yes, I remember reading your post. I took it in and the service center told me that they couldn't find anything wrong. Not sure, if they looked closely since I imagine that they'd have to do some significant work to truly determine if there is a problem. Therefore, I am going to...

    X: What's your 90%?

@KaiserSoze, When I first got my car, I picked it up from Fremont and drove it back down to LA. On that trip, I probably supercharged 3 times. I've owned the X for about 5 months and super charged about once or twice every month. I charge to 90% typically except when going on a long trip...

Very loud fan noise from frunk area with AC on...

I was at the Fountain Valley supercharger today and had another X parked right next to me. Our cars had been charging for a while and when we returned to the cars, we both started the air conditioner. Mine was markedly louder than his (my Vin is 001984, so much older) while his had just a...

    High Wh/mi in city driving

I have observed this as well. In my case, there is a very slight decline going from home to work and when I return, it goes "uphill." This is a very slight elevation change and I did not notice it before when I drove a traditional ICE. But in my X, even subtle elevation changes have an effect.

FWDs lately openning 85%percent not 100

My X started doing this after a firmware update as well. Funny thing is, it's occurred in my garage twice and that's where I have it set to always open based on geolocation. I know the care is aware of this since it says on the screen that it is set to open fully in my garage.

    HVAC became inoperable today!

I got my car back from the service center yesterday and one of the items was to check on the crossed condenser lines. They checked the service bulletins and said that my VIN was not in the range. New Loud Bearing Noise from A/C

Yes, noise is still crazy loud. When I am at a steady cruise on the freeway, I am about 320-340 Wh/mile. Short 5-10 mile trips average around 400-450 Wh/mile though.

High Ambient Temperature causing 400-450 Wh/mile usage?

Got my car back and techs did not find any issues or crossed condenser lines with the AC system. I guess it is normal to have these high energy usage on short trips. When I had my loaner Model S, I also noticed usage in the 380Wh/mile range on my short trips. With the X being a bigger car to...

Got my X back today and they checked the service bulletin and said that my car was not in the VIN range affected.
