Symptoms of a non-functional seat occupancy sensor

Sorry to reply to an ancient post, but this came up googling my own problem, and wanted to add one more to either your "suspected" or "strongly suspected" to the list. I was running into the bluetooth problem, and I've gone ahead and done the confirmed (car switches into park when I try to...

No Updates in 21 Days ?

Purchased a 2015 S 70 in August of 2015, sold it just this month (switched to a P3-). I entered my firmware manually on ev-fw.com, so there may be some gaps. My average between updates on my S was 32.8 days. My longest wait between updates was 168 days between 05-January-2017 and 22-June-2017...

Is Battery Cooling activated while driving if AC isn't on?

Good. That is what I hoped. I was just concerned from the limited information I had that perhaps that wasn't the case. Thanks for the info!

Is Battery Cooling activated while driving if AC isn't on?

Short version: Just wondering if the Tesla's automatic cooling of the batteries works if you're driving but don't use the AC Longer version: I live in Tucson, AZ, and frequently come up to my Tesla after sitting in the sun all day and hear fans going. I assume this is the active cooling system...

    Firmware 8.0

A feature of 8.0 I've not seen noted yet - using PHONE as your audio source is kept between trips. I use my phone almost exclusively as my audio source. In 7.x, every time I got in the car, I had to select my phone as the audio source. In 8.0, I no longer have to do that. I can get in the car...

What does "ignore" mean in 8.0?

This is really hard for me to say. When I went into work, I just drove normally and I didn't feel the nags were much different. However, for my tests on the way home, I purposely didn't touch the steering wheel, and I got a lot more nags than I have before. Early on in AP I did some tests and I...

What does "ignore" mean in 8.0?

I have an hour commute each way for work, so I decided to do a test on this this evening. The trigger for the three strikes rule is the audio chime. The tests I performed are as follows: 1st test - wait for AP warn me with the popup, and then the white flashing border. As soon as the border...

    Firmware 8.0

I haven't noticed someone mention this yet, my apologies if it is a repeat. It looks as if exiting AP while still in TACC is more "predictable" now, especially when combined with the 5mph limit on certain streets. Before the update, the AP would limit my speed, but as soon as I disengaged AP I...

    Firmware 7.1

Works for me as well (2.17.80)

    Firmware 7.1

My car got serviced today, and I got an upgrade prompt. The version is 2.17.80. I have put it in the tracker. I don't know what to look for in changes, but if there is anything I should focus on or check out, just let me know.

    Windshild Wiper Sweep

My Aug 2015 70 does the same thing. No clue if it's expected/normal, or if it's an indication of a problem.

    Firmware 7.1 - "downgraded" my 70 to a 60 (visual issue only?)

Yup, same for me - I got the 2.9.172 this morning, and my 70 is back. Yay!

    Firmware 7.1 - "downgraded" my 70 to a 60 (visual issue only?)

Hah! Were that the case I definitely would. Unfortunately it just downgraded my regular 70 to a regular 60.

    Firmware 7.1 - "downgraded" my 70 to a 60 (visual issue only?)

I ended up calling support this morning. The person I spoke with sounded a little surprised and described it as "some kind of glitch". He's passing it along to service, we'll see if they do some sort of re-install, or if I will be waiting until a new version or what. Even if this was widespread...

    Firmware 7.1 - "downgraded" my 70 to a 60 (visual issue only?)

After getting the 7.1 update yesterday, my car (a base Model 70) now reports itself as a 60 - on the dash when I first get in the car, and on the main screen when I tap the Tesla logo. As near as I can tell it's just the "Model 60" text that is wrong - my remaining miles indicator is giving me...

    Key Fob Nightmare

I had a hard time following this post, but I wanted to address one item in here This isn't entirely correct. The Android/iOS app will let you remotely "start" the car as well - no fob needed. Not that that's what happened in this case.

Sound generator for our Model S ?

I would be all for a pedestrian honk, but as for a sound linked to acceleration/speed add me to the -1 column. One of the first things I did with my 2011 Leaf was invert the noise maker button (which got removed in later years) to default to OFF.

Disable Valet mode or pop Frunk from remote

I am a Tesla noob (expecting my 70 in late August) but I thought you could disable the valet mode from the mobile app. From the manual:

Model S Depreciation significantly higher than expected

Agreed - I'm buying my first Tesla through the CPO program (an inventory 60). I asked about my Nissan Leaf, they quoted $1,000. Carmax offered $3,000 and I believe I'll be able to sell it for around $5,000 via private sale.
