    Supercharger - Richmond, BC

Except that I'm not going to Richmond to charge. I'm going to Richmond to eat, and would like to charge opportunistically while I'm there. :)

I was planning to charge there next week on my way to Whistler, so I'll probably stop by and check it out even if it's not yet online.

Blog Tesla Owner Cleared of Criminal Charges After Explaining ‘Dog Mode’

Here’s the sign I created last year when I took my dog on a road trip to California. I affixed one of these to the inside of each rear window. This was pre-Dog Mode but of course I left the climate control running whenever my dog was alone in the car. We were never far away and never left him...

    Long term storage

I'm about to be in the same situation as the OP and want to check to see if there's any new advice on this topic. Based on what I've read, I plan to keep the charger plugged in with the charge limit set to 50% and not worry about trickle-charging the 12V battery separately. I still have the...

No audio playback progress meter over Bluetooth

[Apologies if this is a FAQ.] When I play music in my Model S over Bluetooth -- specifically using the Spotify app on my iPhone -- the Tesla display doesn't show the progress of the song. It does if you use Slacker. This should be technically possible because when I play audio over Bluetooth...

Car and Driver: Electric Highway Project Charging Up Sales, If Not Cars

Informal Meetup: Saturday, July 9th, Centralia Supercharger

Hello Fellow PNW Tesla Owners, Three of us who met on the TMC forums while we were waiting for our Model S's to arrive in March -- two from the Seattle area and one from the Portland area -- have been planning a casual get-together at the Centralia Supercharger to meet in person and swap new...

Now that we all have our Teslas, should we try to schedule a Centralia Supercharger meet-up? My weekends are booked for the next couple of weeks but I could probably manage something in mid-April.

Owners delivery stories, photos and first impressions

Better late than never... Our delivery was scheduled for March 15th and I was supposed to get home on the 14th, but my return was delayed by nearly a week. My wife took delivery as scheduled without me. Since it's unofficially her car, I can't really complain. Here's a picture from the big...

    Wiki Model S Delivery Update

While you're all waiting desperately for your cars to arrive, consider my situation: My car was delivered last Tuesday (3/15) and I still haven't seen it. I had to leave town on short notice and my wife took delivery without me. Not a huge deal since it's unofficially her car, but I have to live...

Feature Ask: I want variable wiper frequency

As the saying goes, your mileage may vary. Not only do I much prefer rain-sensing wipers to conventional intermittent, but the rain-sensing wipers on my BMW worked better than the ones on my Acura.

    2016's getting pushed back?

I'm not sure that there's a correlation. My car changed to that exact status yesterday and I haven't finalized the payment yet.

    2016's getting pushed back?

Oh, there were quite a few Model Xs scattered around the service center's lot. I didn't pay close attention but I'd guess at least ten, most of them pre-delivery. It's also possible that they have them around because they just had a Model X test drive event in Seattle recently.

    2016's getting pushed back?

My car was delivered to the Seattle service center yesterday, so I was able to stop by this morning and check it out. As you can see from these photos, it still has the transit wrapping on, so it hasn't gone through any dealer prep yet. I have an appointment to take delivery next Tuesday...

Swap the 19" cyclones to the new 19" slipstream rims - Order just confirmed

A new data point: I was at the Seattle service center this morning to take a peek at my car (which just arrived there yesterday) and I happened upon a new "marketing car" (i.e. not customer order) that has the 19" Slipstream wheels. It hasn't gone through dealer prep so it must be a very recent...

Feature Ask: I want variable wiper frequency

I have a question for the sPacific Northwet Model S owners who are dissatisfied with the operation of their cars' rain-sensing wipers: Have you had this feature on other vehicles and if so, have you been happy with it? I'm still awaiting the arrival of my Model S but I've owned cars with...

Test drive as part of taking delivery

Is it standard practice to do a test drive of your new Tesla as part of taking delivery? I mean doing a short (10 minute) drive of the actual vehicle you will be driving home before completing the paperwork and heading on your merry way. If it's not standard practice, is it something that others...

    Wiki Model S Delivery Update

Last night I checked again and my status was updated to "Your Tesla has been built and is in transit from the factory." My estimated delivery date is now "March 9, 2016 - March 16, 2016". This time, however, I didn't (or haven't yet) received email from Tesla notifying me of the change in status.

    Wiki Model S Delivery Update

Same here: Still in production but the site now shows a more narrow estimated delivery date. Mine is "March 10, 2016 - March 24, 2016" where it used to be "March - early April".

    Wiki Model S Delivery Update

Unfortunately the "Delivery City" column for Q1 2016 is still broken. If you look compare the "Country" and "Delivery City" columns, many cars in the US are listed with non-US delivery cities, and vice versa. My US car now has "London-Gatwick" as the delivery city.

    2016's getting pushed back?

My car entered production on Monday. On Tuesday I got an email from my DS saying that my car was being painted. First drive on Thusday....BMW Alpina B7 to Tesla P85D?????

I have a friend who explained (rationalized) her Model S purchase thusly: "I'm buying a $60,000 car and 'donating' $30,000 to EV research." This made her feel better about the poshness gap with comparably-priced luxury sedans.

Inventory cars being produced before confirmed customer cars

Can you elaborate on why? There are only two choices for headliner, and while white is standard, enough people order black with the Premium Interior that I wouldn't expect there to be a supply chain issue.

Inventory cars being produced before confirmed customer cars

Oh, I'm not worried, just curious. I'm under the impression that Tesla VIN assignment usually happens when they start sourcing parts for production. I thought about the possibility that it could have been a canceled customer order, but that explanation seems less likely than the need for more...

Inventory cars being produced before confirmed customer cars

I was just poking around on ev-cpo.com and discovered something interesting: The San Francisco store has a Model S for sale in its inventory that is identical to the one I ordered in mid-January except for the color of the headliner. Comparing its VIN to those of customer-ordered cars suggests...

    Wiki Model S Delivery Update

    Wiki Model S Delivery Update

My status also changed to this at some point today. Previously the status was "Order Confirmed: Your Model S has been confirmed and is scheduled for production." New (soon-to-be) 85D owner!

Congratulations! I confirmed 11 days earlier than you and I'm not scheduled to enter production until next week (my production week was pushed back 1-2 weeks according to my DS). I wonder if it has something to do Tesla trying to front-load production of the 85's in preparation for the phase-out?

    New Order, March Delivery?

Even right now, if you go to the US market version of the Model S Design Studio page it shows "Late March Delivery" for a car ordered right now (vs. June for the GB market page). This suggests that the start-to-finish process for new orders in the US (or possibly just the West Coast if it's...

Could be. Have you been given an estimated production week yet by your DS?

    2016's getting pushed back?

The same thing happened to me. Yesterday my estimated delivery on the site was "Late February - March" and now it's "March - Early April". Not entirely surprising given that my car is supposed to enter production during the week of 2/22, but the slim hope that I might get the car at the end of...

    Time from confirmation to production

When my order was first confirmed (about four weeks ago), my DS told me that my car's build week would be 2/15. Then a week or so later he told me it would be 2/8. Then last week he told me it would be 2/22. So it can move around a lot. @sashner - I saw your config in the spreadsheet and your...

Tesla Quietly Discontinues the 85 kWh Battery Option in Canada

Alas that information is out of date. If you look later in the same thread (e.g. Decoding Tesla Model S VINs, post #333), there are people with 70s and 85s who have an E in position 7. The PDF I reference above is effective August 1, 2015.

Tesla Quietly Discontinues the 85 kWh Battery Option in Canada

I'm not sure where you are getting the idea that the 7th position in the VIN distinguishes between an 85 and 90 kWh battery. The 7th position is "E" for Fuel type = Electric. The 8th position can be 1-4 based on standard vs. performance and single motor vs. dual motor. See...

Feature Ask: I want variable wiper frequency

The cars I've driven with rain-sensing wipers have typically had four levels of sensitivity, and I normally keep it at the second highest level. Occasionally I've found it a little slow for my Seattle-area needs but generally it has worked fine. I don't get my Model S for another month but I...

    2016's getting pushed back?

From my past experience ordering cars (not specifically Teslas), I can tell you that the closer the car gets to you, the harder the wait is. Once it's through production and on the ship/truck, it's even more excruciating. And when it's at the store but not through dealer prep, don't expect to...
