New Owner, First Impressions, Quick Question

If you have access to the car via the app, then you can scroll all the way down to the bottom and click on Specs & Warranty. If it says Full Self-Driving Capability, then it has FSD. Both Full Self-Driving Capability & Autopilot should be listed on there.

So are you saying they're better? Can BMW make a car of this quality or better at that price? Can BYD make a car of BMW quality or better at BMW's price? From what I've been watching/reading, the Chinese are done copying Legacy and now consider themselves ahead of them. The Chinese are fast...

Modified (?) Model 3 climbing up a mud road in the rain

This is a year old. I'm surprised it took this long for me to see this. Is there a thread about this on here? Can someone summarize what happened? Was the car modified? What tires were on it? Thanks!

Help me decide 2014 S85 USC vs 2019 3 LR FSD

Nope, that's the same openpilot I'm talking about. I haven't gone on their Discord channel, but they may have more info there.

Help me decide 2014 S85 USC vs 2019 3 LR FSD

If the S85 has MCU1, you can use openpilot and use Tesla's interface with it so it looks factory. Bonus, not as many nags.

Tesla supercharger bay damaged my Model S and Tesla refused to help

Oh, I see you got charged £650 tuition fee for that lesson at the School of Hard Knocks. Yeah, I hate getting that bill too. Damn school just places their classrooms all over the place. Does anyone know the direct line to the one in charge?

    Supercharger - Oak Brook, IL

It's the drivers. How do I know? Well, Tesla wouldn't be developing FSD & Optimus if it wasn't. Despite having ubiquitous gas stations, we still have people running out of gas. Despite having numerous idiot lights on the dash, we still have people, well you get the idea... ...I think.

Don't worry about it. The public will forget about this when it warms up again just like last time!

    Tesla Unionization

Actually, there's a process for that. If a Chinese company wanted to come to America they'd have to do it through Mexico. Union jobs that a company in the US can't support has to be in Mexico. So where does Sweden want those union jobs?

    Tesla Unionization

I'm just waiting for a non-Tesla shop to go under from this and Tesla taking over that shop. I think that's where this is headed. I also see this as Tesla's opportunity to problem solve (delivery side), similar to the semiconductor (supply side) disruption. It reminds me of Starlink getting...

Who can catch Tesla ? They seem to be experiencing exponential growth…..

Just going to put this here. timestamp 34:57 for 48V architecture comment. I'm just curious which of the Legacies will RTFM. The Chinese are probably already doing their homework.

Do all IF Metall mechanics get paid the same rate and benefits no matter which shop they work for?

So you're saying Tesla employees should put this to a vote? Not IF Metall members, but Tesla Employees.

    Tesla Unionization

The question still has not been answered: What exactly does the union offer that's better than what Tesla is offering its employees? Whom does it benefit?
  25. T

    Tesla Unionization

I don't get it. If IF Metall wants a controlling interest in Tesla, why not just buy shares? If the employees want more of the profits the company makes, why not just buy more shares? As I understand it, the one with the most to lose is more likely to work harder than one who does not. Am I...

Is it really worth it getting a Tesla?

Because cars are depreciating assets unless you know which ones to get. Even those that hold or appreciate in value have their own problems - insurance, storage, etc. What were talking about is not if Tesla is "worth it" but how to resolve your expectations vs. reality. I was in a similar...

Yeah, but if you really want to get more nitrogen in, you need to use winter air.

You don't replace your summer air for winter air? I just keep my winter air in the winter tires.

    Change in weather…tire pressure.

If you do have someone fill it for you, check to make sure the Schrader valve cap is on tight. They tend to rush and leave it on there loosely.

    Change in weather…tire pressure.

I use the one Costco provides in their parking lot. I used to go to Discount Tire when it was on the way, but sometimes the line's long. I would suspect today would be one of those days.

I fill it. Pressure is more likely to go down further as time progresses.

I've worked with rangers before. I think they can work on it as long as you give them the go ahead.

    Window regulator troubleshooting

This was my brother's 2013 MS that I worked on. I think he paid $240 for it, but I don't recall on how long it took him to get the regulator from the service center. Sorry I can't be of much help there.

    Window regulator troubleshooting

I think I used the extra hands for helping me keep the glass up so I could have access to the bolts to separate it from the regulator. IIRC, the bolts at the bottom wasn't our problem. We didn't have the assembly as far forward as possible. I think I had him apply that pressure while I tightened...

    Window regulator troubleshooting

Just so you're aware, I had a non-handy family member help me with holding things steady while I made adjustments. Annoying part was taking door apart and putting it back together numerous times. I also had extra plastic clips for the door. Then again, maybe doing it late past midnight might've...

    Window regulator troubleshooting

I did this a few months back. I couldn't see it until I removed the whole thing. Getting the assembly in and out was pretty much unbolting and bolting it back on in reverse, but adjusting it for the wind noise was annoying. Unless you're selling the car right after the repair, I don't...

Important lesson learned. Don't trust Tesla routing for Superchargers

I haven't done it recently, but I did it unintentionally with the 2016 MS. Didn't care to pass a truck when it merged into our lane. IIRC, I had it set to a following distance of 2 or 3. I only noticed it was doing something because the estimated SOC kept climbing up. Then a rock hit the...

Important lesson learned. Don't trust Tesla routing for Superchargers

My problem's the opposite. Tesla recommends stopping at a closer supercharger where I'll be charging for 5-10 min. I look at the map and the next supercharger will be exactly where I need the SOC to be - between 10% - 20%. Maybe there's a setting in there that I haven't looked? But my strategy...

Need Advice -- Tesla updated software on my 2013 Model S, Now im being forced into pricey Infotainment upgrade.

Ship of Theseus OP just wants a cost efficient way of keeping his car optimally operational. I'm in the "Clear the cache / Factory reset" camp. I tend to do that with gadgets that have a memory - smartphones, tablets, PCs, etc.

People who sell Teslas because they couldn't adopt EV life style?

You have a valid point, but people selling to CarMax was probably because the situation was advantageous. There was definitely a point in time where you could definitely flip your old Tesla for more $$$ and get a newer one for less $$$. If one had two cars and could live with one while waiting...
