    2019.32.12.2

I’ve seen a huge step backward in AP functionality on this update. Dancing cars are back, has trouble identifying lane lines where it was previously fine, and issues with changing lanes. Have never actually experienced a regression on any FW before, so curious how long it will take for them to...

    Performance Upgrade Price Change!

As a data point, I got an email confirmation of my $5k refund check for my P3D+ purchase. I will be losing unlimited supercharging.

    Neural Networks

To confirm are you saying the single net processing all cameras is NOT the one you now believe is running the car and rather it's individual NNs processing each independently like v8? Just trying to understand.

Seeing the world in autopilot, part deux

I cannot wait to see what you two are putting together. Thanks from the community for your continued work and research.

    Software Update 2018.39.x (Version 9)

Thanks for the data points. Seems 39.5 was rolled out to a few Model 3s on Friday but wasn't pushed to wide release in 39.6 along with S / X.

    Software Update 2018.39.x (Version 9)

    Are you early access?
  7. bswn1

    Software Update 2018.39.x (Version 9)

The only non-early access cars I've seen that have v9 (model 3s) do not have enhanced auto pilot which is curious.

Software Update 2018.39 4a3910f (plus other v9.0 early access builds)

Firmware is being pushed to more cars but seems to be an odd .39 build and not a full rollout yet.

Software Update 2018.39 4a3910f (plus other v9.0 early access builds)

If you are on 32.2 then it's probably 36.2 but install it and see what happens!

Software Update 2018.39 4a3910f (plus other v9.0 early access builds)

It's probably 36.2, what firmware are you on?

Seeing the world in autopilot, part deux

Just watched, great information thank you! I'm curious to see the car negotiate a highway change by itself, do you have any footage by chance? Thanks again from the community for your work.

Software Update 2018.39 4a3910f (plus other v9.0 early access builds)

See above post for a great explanation on why this isn't possible.
  15. bswn1

Software Update 2018.39 4a3910f (plus other v9.0 early access builds)

It can't. That's why they're activating cameras in v9 and adding functionality.
  16. bswn1

Software Update 2018.39 4a3910f (plus other v9.0 early access builds)

It is using ultrasonic sensors to do this. AP2 has been doing this as well. V9 will be using cameras in addition to the ultrasonic sensors to detect cars.
  17. bswn1

Software Update 2018.39 4a3910f (plus other v9.0 early access builds)

Assuming this is a 2.0 car? When I upgraded to a 2.5 car I noticed the renders were a lot smoother and the IC didn’t get confused as often.

Lease Transfer: 2017 Model S 75D Blue w/ EAP in Los Angeles, CA

I've gotten an incredible amount of interest on the car so far, it's currently on hold pending credit application approval. Will bump the thread if the car becomes available again.

Lease Transfer: 2017 Model S 75D Blue w/ EAP in Los Angeles, CA

That's with $8k+ out of pocket and 36 months of lease which is a long long time for virtually the exact same car. Also your option I believe is only 10k miles per year. There's 36k miles for 16 months remaining on mine. @P85_DA said it best!

Lease Transfer: 2017 Model S 75D Blue w/ EAP in Los Angeles, CA

Update: the car was delivered Dec 21 2016 so technically it is a 2016 Model S 75D and not a 2017. Sorry for any confusion!

Lease Transfer: 2017 Model S 75D Blue w/ EAP in Los Angeles, CA

Model S autopilot in instrument cluster

Do we know for sure if it's coming from the ultrasonics or the cameras? The cars have been using ultrasonics to determine if lane changes are safe since AP 1, so not a huge surprise the data structure is there.

Tesla’s next major milestone: no driver input required on the highway

If I remember correctly, the debate was about whether or not the three "computer vision" renderings on the right side of the video frame were created in real-time or if the NN vision "overlays" were generated and added later to make it seem Tesla already had vision software that could tag and...

    Firmware Update 2018.12

How did you turn this on?
  32. bswn1

Here it is the new Tesla Maps ( coming this weekend? )

How did you get cars in adjacent lanes to show? Setting in the firmware?

Poll: Has AP2 18.10.4 surpassed AP1 in terms of performance?

The AP2 car in the video is not on the firmware this thread is discussing. The 10.4 update brought much more stability compared to 6.1.

    Hello, rear radar :-)

See my previous post describing why it’s different for the Model 3.
  35. bswn1

    Hello, rear radar :-)

It seems highly unlikely now that the rear camera is active for Autopilot. This would mean on the Model 3 there's radar only for the rear.
  36. bswn1

    Hello, rear radar :-)

Yes that's what I said in a later post. However, it's 100% clear on the Tesla website and through statements they made that on the Model S / X, there are 8 total AP cameras (the ones you mentioned plus the rear camera). As far as I know, it was assumed HW2.5 for S / X as well as the Model 3...
  37. bswn1

    Hello, rear radar :-)

Well, I just re-read my Model 3 window sticker, and here's the exact language (I can upload a copy for anyone that wants to see it): "Safety Seven cameras, forward radar and twelve ultrasonic sensors" This begs the questions, why only 7 cameras? Doesn't HW2.5 have 8 active cameras? My...
  38. bswn1

    Hello, rear radar :-)

The full official sheet that came with my Model 3 (in car, not sure the official name for it) said that it had 7 active AP cameras, which I always thought was weird. I guess it makes sense now as this implies the backup camera is not used for Autopilot functionality.
  39. bswn1

    Hello, rear radar :-)

Assuming this would be part of AP HW2.5 and we would have seen something in the firmware.

It needs to go in to the SC. Had this same issue.

    Phone as Key Issues

I have not been able to setup either of our phones which are the iPhone X to our car for Phone as Key functions. We can successfully pair and play music, and see the car in the app, so we are taking it into service to see what's up. 48.11.
  43. bswn1

    Cannot Pair Phone as Key?

Called tech support today, they are looking into the issue and said they will get back to us.
  44. bswn1

    Cannot Pair Phone as Key?

Yes, tried rebooting the car, rebooting phones, re-installing the app, forgetting and re-connecting the bluetooth pairing... all no dice. We are connected through the app, but the only thing not working is Phone Key. Must be an issue with my car or something with our phones.
  45. bswn1

    Cannot Pair Phone as Key?

No because our phones are paired to the car -- we can play music, etc. The only problem is the Phone Key functionality.
  46. bswn1

    Cannot Pair Phone as Key?

Yeah we've tried everything including re-installing the app. Our phones are paired to the car no problem, we just can't enable Phone Key on either me or my wife's phone :(
  47. bswn1

    Cannot Pair Phone as Key?

Just took delivery today, experienced an issue that won't let us pair our phones to the car as a key. Is anyone else having this issue or is it isolated to just us? Were told it was a Tesla wide thing, but not sure if that's true or not.
