    Powerwalls - n00b question

Is there a plus minus to installing powerwalls outside vs. inside the house? Does it matter how far from your electricity panel the powerwalls are? Can they be installed on a cinderblock wall inside? Can they be a fire hazard?

Blog Tesla Will Move HQ Out of California After Fight Against Health Order

As much as I'm no fan of overbearing gubment, I'm having a hard time siding with Elon on this. 1. California showered Tesla with tax credits. As a state, they care about the well being of their people and environment, and protecting people in face of COVID, is part of that innate nature of...

    Starting to regret my purchase

This is why I passed on the "If you don't like your car, you can return it" guarantee. Return it how? They don't even answer their phones. And good luck getting a refund. You might eventually get it, but it just wasn't worth the hassle.

    Glass Roof Cracks

Model 3’s upper body has so much flex that going over the usual bumps and speed breakers will cause the glass to crack eventually. There are plenty of videos on YouTube, and glass repair experts that have examined glass breakage in model 3s, and all of them, independently have come to this same...

Outrageous $5000 repair bill after warranty expire!

Tesla build quality is crap. Owning this car outside of warranty is asking for trouble. Sorry you had to go through this. Even with extended warranty they charge you a deductible per visit (not per issue). Sucks but if you want to own a Tesla, this is a reality you have to face.

I'm guessing you live in an area where there aren't a lot of Teslas. Perhaps midwest? Try the coasts, or Norway if you want to experience poor service. Those of us that have been in the Tesla ecosystem for a while, saw the long lines for Model 3, and had one thought - what will this do to the...

Hey don't compare a Hyundai to a Model 3. Hyundai has the following, (Santa Fe vs. Model 3 lets say) 1 - 67% high strength steel construction 2 - Great paint quality 3 - Sheet metal that doesn't bend if you look at it funny, and when it does repairs are cheap 4 - The dealer will spend hours with...

    Enhanced Summon latest video

No. I’ve owned 2S and 1X and was in the market for a 3. I am no longer in the market for 3 since .. well long list. That said, I did do plenty of research on 3 before buying an alternate car. And decided against getting another Tesla.

Tesla's are pretty darned unreliable, despite fewer moving parts. And when things do go awry, good luck with their service. When you do get through their service, good luck with the heart attack once you see the bill. It's just opinions, but I've owned Teslas since 2012, 3 of them, trust me, I...

    Enhanced Summon latest video

@Kognos .. Tesla’s warranty is 4 years and the car is very expensive to own after that (matter of probability of course). So assume an ownership life of 5 years. So the question is, if you had 6k/7k/8k laying around, - would you rather buy Tesla stock or - would you rather buy FSD...

    Enhanced Summon latest video

Yup that was the main reason I linked that video up there. With the impending 1k increase, make that $7k that I just saved. That said, some features that were standard part of tesla ap, are now bundled as a part of , which sucks. Still, paying 6k or 7k for FSD .. is so not worth it. The...

    FSD With Purchase Or Wait

This is exactly what Elon said on autonomy day. And you know what? He is full of chocolate. He has always been. And you fell for it too. Lease returns will fuel used car sales and refurbished battery products, such as powerwalls. Not robotaxis. Seriously get over this concept that next year...

Yes but I do feel that red light detection is an achievable goal. The kind of self driving that many are dreaming of, where the car picks you up and drives you while you sleep is a flat out lie.

    FSD With Purchase Or Wait

Yep - it's a very personal choice, plus the value of money vs. the value of features is different for all of us. Here is my perspective, Basic autopilot - is sweet Now for FSD features that I like --> Turn signal to lane change - I understand is no longer part of basic autopilot and needs...

How to make the $1875 work for me?

Line 15 is total tax, and it's on Page 1. Rocket science is easier frankly! Lets simplify, Joe's total tax bill for the year was $2000. Joe made a payment in total of $1000. Joe buys a Tesla. a) Does Joe - get a $875 refund? b) Does Joe - get a $0 refund and has to pay $0 more to IRS? a or...

How to make the $1875 work for me?

So a basic question, - If at the end of the year, I OWE (i.e. underpaid my taxes by) $1000, do I get a $875 refund, or do I get no refund, and not owe anything?

How to make the $1875 work for me?

There seems to be a lot of misinformation on this thread. This link may help clear it up Solved: If I purchase an electric vehicle with the 7500 tax credit, how do I ensure that I will owe enough at the end of the year to see that full credit when I do my taxes?

Anyone currently considering buying FSD post-delivery (Aug 16 price hike)?

@dave999z - Tesla isn't doing this advance planning because it costs $$$. The same logic could be applied when Tesla was increasing the number of cars on the road by 10x, while cutting back on service centers and little improvements in superchargers. Or not investing in repair supply chain. Or...

Anyone currently considering buying FSD post-delivery (Aug 16 price hike)?

Speaking of retrofit - have you seen how overloaded their service centers are? It takes them years to retrofit legally mandated free for them airbags, where in the priority list will be a non-legally mandated, expensive computer retrofit?
  36. Sir Guacamolaf

Anyone currently considering buying FSD post-delivery (Aug 16 price hike)?

This $1k price rise is a demand lever. That’s all. It costs tesla nothing to enable software they have already built. Also notice that certain features that historically used to be a part of autopilot, now require FSD. This is their ploy to sell a $35k car, eventually, but keep the real price...

    X-TESLA Owners

I'm debating getting a new car, and have owned 2xS and 1xX in the past. Indeed! The coasts are quite bad. So when someone from midwest who owns a Tesla goes on and on about how awesome they are, I can see where they are coming from, but it is of no help to me. Makes you wonder how it's like in Norway. I was there a couple of months ago, and the line of Teslas...

Delivery shennanigans & terrible customer service

The funny thing is, those of us that are old time tesla owners recognize each other and feel no need to not trust each other. It is so easy to tell a new Tesla owner from a seasoned Tesla owner. Ampd, I 100% agree. Tesla was a completely different company in 2012. The service would bend over...

FSD price to go up $1k and Enhanced Summon release date, both ~August 16.

Same sentiment here. Even at 6K, I have a hard time justifying it. IMO what you will see is, - Stop sign and red light recognition - Enhanced summon (which will be too slow to be of any real use). .. and that's it. It's not going to ferry your dog or your kids or pick you up from the...

Tesla's liability for promising FSD later this year

I didn't say that because that is not what happened, at least not here. 17.7% of the fees went to attorneys which .. in a class action lawsuit is, pretty good. Teslas for Females - Practicality vs Fun?

A couple of things to consider as a female interested in buying a Tesla. 1. Charging, during day time it's a non-issue. Tesla's liability for promising FSD later this year

AP2 delays caused a class action lawsuit, especially considering that on a 4 year lease, it was almost 3 years after they released this feature. The lawyers won. The owners got somewhere between $20-$280 in compensation. And you know how class action lawsuit compensation works right? The lawyers...
