    2016 Model S70D

Interesting. I was looking at trading my car in on an SUV about 4 months ago and took the car to CarMax and they offered $50k which I thought was low and decided to wait until after the Holliday’s to see how my year looked. Looking at the current pricing on that ev-Cpo site it looks like their...

    2016 Model S70D

Wow, great site. So are these are cars for sale, or have they sold? I was trying to find some “comps” of actual sales. Does Tesla negotiate these prices or stay firm? By reviewing the prices it looks like mine would sell for about $45k.

    2016 Model S70D

Looking to potentially sell my 2016 s70D in Florida. Having a hard time determining what a fair price would be. 51k miles, third row, AP1, pre-facelift, upgraded tubine wheels, no accidents, good condition, a few very minor scratches on hood, overall in great shape. My two youngest kids have...

Model X For Family of 6?

I totally agree about the minivan, but there is just no way I can pull that off!

Model X For Family of 6?

I currently own an S70D (which I love) but we now have 4 kids and even though I have the rear facing seats it is getting cramped as my boys get older. We already own an Infinity QX80 so we have a car that can transport them all, but there are many times I pick them up from school or sports and...

    FSD Question

So I’m looking to potentially trade my S70D for a new MX and I noticed that the FSD option is not longer available. I’m sure it has been addressed previously, but is that because FSD will only work on new hardware and Tesla doesn’t want to be forced to upgrade any more 2.5 hardware units? Or...

A word of warning for potential Tesla owners.

My experience with the in-house body shop in Eatonville was amazing. In and out in 2 days for repaired bumper, vs. weeks at an exponentially higher price through outside vendors. They think their system will revolutionalize the repair industry.

Advice on CPO 2016 face lift, no AP2 - what equip do these cars have?

My pre-refresh 2016 car did come with the center console. I picked it up the day the refresh model was announced ha.

A word of warning for potential Tesla owners.

Had a very minor paint scratch on rear number and some brackets on the rear bumper broke. Took it to two Tesla Approved body shops and had expensive quotes with vague turnaround times. Found out the Orlando Tesla dealership was one of the new service centers rolling out a new body shop. Set...

Amazing Body Shop Service From Tesla

That’s what makes this new service so noteworthy. I’ve owned my model S for a few years, I’ve had work done on, I get it. Tesla seems to understand as well and based upon my sample size of 1 it is going to change your opinion once it rolls out in force. I’ve owned all the car brands and come...

Amazing Body Shop Service From Tesla

So my Tesla received very minor damage from being bumped on the rear fender from the adjacent car in a sparking garage. Damage consisted of a small, half dollar sized paint scratch an nick on rear bumper. Took it to two Tesla approved body shops and the estimates were costly and repair time...

Firmware 9 in August will start rolling out full self-driving features!!!

I guess I assumed it would recognize when the lane would shift. I understand why they say the last 10% takes 90% of the time. Hard Thats exactly what I was thinking. For me AP is great on the highway, especially morning commute, but I think people’s expectations of what is coming is not...

Firmware 9 in August will start rolling out full self-driving features!!!

Can anyone explain what highway on ramp to off ramp really means? Even AP1 is pretty much this on highways. Sure I have to physically make the turn to exit and be nagged frequently but it is pretty solid on hwy. If V9 eliminated the nags and provided a “handoff” time back to the driver of say...

    Benchmarking software against humans

Regarding the bumper car analogy, Nissan/Infiniti has a system called DCA that auto brakes for other vehicles (not sure about objects) even when their version of TACC is not engaged. It is a really nice feature, keeps a set distance between your car and others at all times, and should be easy...

    Autonomous Car Progress

I just saw a Cadillac ad for super cruise that had a quote, (Tesla eat your heart out). Aurora, Aptiv, and others seem to be close to bringing out new products. Audi says they will have L4 highway pilot ready in 18 months. I have AP 1 so I’m not expecting great things out of my system in the...

[Poll] - are you mad that your new Tesla just missed Autopilot 2.0?

When I took delivery of my model S the day the refresh took place, I was a little bummed but all of the people on this forum that got the refreshed model told me to stop whining and enjoy the car I paid for. I'm now amused that some of these same people are now whining and complaining.

    Firmware 8.0

I just called the national sales number because they always pick up (figured my service center was closed) and asked what was up and he said their tech department was inundated with calls. I don't have Elon on speed dial ha!
  21. M

    Firmware 8.0

Mine is doing it also, I have had 8.0 for a week and up until now it has been great, but has rebooted non-stop. I spoke to Tesla corporate and they are aware of the problem and their tech guys are on it, sounds like a widespread problem.

    Unpopular Opinion - I don't want Autopilot/Autonomous vehicles

Yours is an unpopular opinion for people who like to live. Over 40k US Citizens die each year in auto accidents, and 1.3M globally die each year. The vast majority are driver error. When autonomy is shown to be significantly safer than human driving, which looks like it will happen in my...

    Firmware 7.1

Pretty new to the forum but trying to figure out how you guys are getting these updates, I received 2.28.19 a month or two ago but nothing since. I was at the service center last week and that didn't seem to work.

    Fatal autopilot crash, NHTSA investigating...

Very few people, even on a Tesla forum, seem to understand that this is a problem with TACC. But saying the TACC or the AEB didn't work is not as sexy as blaming it on autopilot. Autopilot is just auto steer and TACC. No one has suggested the car bounded out of its lane, it just didn't stop.

    Fatal autopilot crash, NHTSA investigating...

The mobile eye statement refers to this as a laterally crossing vehicle that no current autonomous breaking system can detect. This is not an autopilot failure folks. It is a current limitation of existing auto breaking technology. Repeat, it is not a Tesla autopilot problem. This has always...

    Fatal autopilot crash, NHTSA investigating...

Autopilot is a combo of auto steer and TACC. This was failure of the TACC system. If the car barreled out of its lane, then it would have been an autopilot problem. It just didn't stop. This could have happened to anyone that owns a car with TACC, or am I missing something?
  27. M

    Fatal autopilot crash, NHTSA investigating...

I don't disagree that training consumers how to use their autopilot features is a good idea. But since this was caused by a failure of TACC and not auto steer, should everyone who has cruise control in their cars need to take an exam?
  28. M

    Fatal autopilot crash, NHTSA investigating...

I don't understand why this is an autopilot issue. The car didn't stop. This is a TACC issue. Most luxury vehicles on the road today have some type of TACC system. Are there any car manufacturers that make a TACC system that could have stopped the vehicle in this situation? The car didn't...

Help me not be an idiot

I went through the same anxiety and ended up purchasing the 70D (at the time the cheapest model) earlier this year. I do not regret it. AP alone has added years to my life. I did look into used, and was tempted to buy a late 2014 p85d with AP from a Texas used car dealer I found online, but...

    Design center now shows 75D

Apologize if it has already been addressed but which 70d models can be upgraded to 75. Just the brand new vehicles with the refreshed grille, perhaps earlier 2016 70d's, or any 70d?

Are the 21' wheels worth it?

That's a great point, I wasn't even thinking of the cost of the tires and replacing them! Ah, the price of vanity! But they look so cool!!!
  32. M

Are the 21' wheels worth it?

I'm not a car guy, and I never usually think about ordering special wheels. But the titanium 70d I am picking up looks great with the gray turbine wheels! I am shocked that the wheels are $4,500 but even more expensive if I don't pick them up when I get the car tomorrow, so I need to decide...

URENT: Advice/Help Needed for Model S!

Yeah, that is pretty much the decision I am making, to move ahead with "classic." The reality is they will probably upgrade the model x seats in a month or two, then 100d, and finally AP2. I figure I will keep this one a year or two and then get back in the upgrade carousel again!

    2016 Model S Refresh Mega-thread

You know I love that Tesla is constantly making upgrades, and of course they couldn't allow cancellations on the minor things they are upgrading. But when an upgrade is large enough to warrant a press release and you are physically changing the appearance of a vehicle, then Tesla should allow...

    2016 Model S Refresh Mega-thread

Seems that the recall was relatively last minute, shouldn't interfere with Model S refresh announcement and might be a nice diversion. Their stock was attacked by the trading bots reacting to the recall, Tesla would probably like some more positive news in the same cycle so I wouldn't think...

The Verge is claiming 100D/P100D any day now (+ Bio Weapon Defense mode)

Not sure they would want the 90 as the entry point this soon, maybe as we get closer to the Model 3 launch. But it seems that if they want upmarket too quickly they would lose 18-24 months of sales to people who want their Tesla now and don't want to spend north of $100k. If they did to that, I...

    2016 Model S Refresh Mega-thread

The other impact is the impact on the vehicles delivered now. So if I pick up my new "non-refreshed" Model S this week, the research I have recently done shows that the value of my "new but not updated" vehicle could be impacted by 5% to 10% by a new model refresh on the outdated ride. This is...

    2016 Model S Refresh Mega-thread

I sort of thought they would wait until after the 15th to force people on the fence to take deliver to receive their $1,200 rebate, not sure where people are hearing Monday or Tuesday, although I hope that is the case.

    Just saying hi to everyone

Awesome, I just ordered my Model S 70D today also!! I had a Model X reserved but switched because I just love the S better and it can do everything I need a family vehicle for. I figured they won't update the body style until I take delivery so I might as well do it!

My Story: 3 kids, a Model S, cancelling my Model X, and a...Volvo?

Was shopping both vehicles (MX and XC90.) Looks like Volvo is upgrading to Pilot Assist II in the '17 model, I wonder how that compares to Tesla's Autopilot? The autopilot feature is the game changer for me, I think Volvo's current system only works to maybe 35mph and doesn't learn from other...
