I am also on a lease with two years left. I know I will definitely NOT buy my car at the end of the lease. Beyond that, all options are open. I still really like my 70, but I parked it after returning home from a long road trip over the holidays and have not touched in almost two months - I...
I think of it this way. What is the market for a 2013 Model S in 2016? I wouldn't want one. Tesla's are all about technology - who knows what will be available 3 years from now. I lease technology, I don't buy it.
I am going to take a contrarian view here. I love my Model S and have had no problems with it at all. That said, the car is all about technology and I wouldn't consider owning one outside of the factory warranty. Were I in your shoes, I would look at leasing a new one or buying an S60 if you...
SC's are for road trips away from home and are being clogged in some areas by daily chargers. When I take a road trip, it is often 2-3k miles so the roughly 1k of charging credit does little for me. In my opinion, Tesla should have restricted supercharging within say 100-150 miles from home...
Well - finally updated and took a 200 mi trip. Aesthetically pleasing to me but functionality took a couple of steps back. Running AP I had 3 occasions where AP swerved another direction. I am confident that had I not been holding the wheel there was great potential for an accident. Several...
Well, my MS is only 4 months old with 5,000 troublefree miles. That said, these cars are all about technology in my opinion (which is why I lease). I have zero interest in owning one outside of the warranty or even owning a model more than a couple of years old.
Lots of good locations. The worst standout for me has been Macon, GA. Wouldn't even consider stopping there late night as I believe it's a dangerous location.
Living in FL, we have the 70. No need for the dual motor. Answering your question, yes, I would downgrade to the 60 and save the $$. A 60@100% vs my 70@90% are the same. If I had not bought our 70 a few months back, I would order the 60.
It's not the money factor that will get you, it's the reduced residuals. When I leased mine there was a lease promotion and the residual is ste at a ridiculous 66%. Good for the lease payment and all but guarantees I won't purchase at the end.
I don't live in Calif, so I am not a fan of lane splitting even though I do ride a MC. What that driver did was downright dangerous and with a clear licence plate, I hope the clip was sent to law enforcement.
The Tesla by Weathertech mats are terrible. The service center just replaced my first set due to curling and the overall fit is awful. The driver side mat is at least an inch short leaving a large catch-all gap at the rear. I've never owned anything made by Weathertech and based on this...
They are still at the "old" price. There was a price increase with the refresh.
I went with an undriven inventory because:
1. I could have it now
2. Took advantage of favorable Q1 lease promotion.
A larger battery does not really impact long distance travel. If you have a 70 or a 90, you still have to stop at the same SCs. A larger battery in that case means you get to leave a few minutes earlier. The SC network is a game-changer for long distance travel. I can take off across the...
Go ahead and get it done. Not much to running a 240v line provided your service has the capacity for an additional 40 amps. My 25ft run was $380 by a licensed electrician. I took Darren's comment as sarcasm.
As I recall, it is very clearly spelled out on the screen when you activate the feature. Same for the autopilot. If you don't agree then you don't activate.
Not to be rude, but we all know that we are beta testers...why would you let it continue when it was clearly failing to move to the open space? Btw, when I hit the brake, auto park cancels.
Nice! We bought our MS from stock on a bit of a whim. It took a couple of weeks before I could get my electrician in to run the 240v circut so we were constently charging at public L2s which was a pain. You're going to love starting everyday with a full charge.
I really liked the blind spot warning in my 2015 E-class and was disappointed that the MS was a move backward in that technology. I understand that sensors, mirrors, etc are no replacement for your eyes, but it was a very good safety feature.
The part number for the Intro-Tech Ultimate Reflector is TE-01-R (Model S). Intro-Tech suggested ordering from www.automotivestyle.com which takes you to an eBay store. They are not allowed to advertise the Ultimate Reflector on eBay so you will have to send them a message. Cost was $49.95...
Came out of a Mercedes E class which had a similar price to my MS. Had a Prius before that and looked at the rate from then and the Tesla is $360 per year higher.
