What is the RS-485 port for on a Gen 3 Wall Connector?

That little connector serves NO purpose. For the moment, the components (U12?) for that RS-485 interface are not populated ... See this THREAD for more info & photos.

Gen3 HPWC disassembly, with overheating issues explained!

Anyone noticed the RFID-antenna on that LED-strip/RFID Flex-PCB [1470138-61-D] ? Furthermore: looks like the components (U12?) for that RS-485 connector are not populated ...

    Rempedaal effect op ramen?

Inderdaad !

Tesla Wall Connector load sharing protocol

Finally got my own brand new TWC ... :D:cool: Noticed that the EU-version has an extra connector / jumper "CNA4" near the bottom edge of the PCB: Pin 1 --> UA21 pin 74 = GPIO 34 (with a pull-up resistor) Pin 2 -- Gnd See this TMC post a for picture. @CDragon : can you find a trace of that...

Tesla Wall Connector load sharing protocol

Great Job ! I suppose you 've been performing all this testing/probing with the TWC 's DIP-switch 2 in the UP position (=Default) ? What if you put that one in the DOWN position ? Apparently, that puts this EVSE in a more generic J1772 mode - not using any (Tesla proprietary) CAN-bus...

Tesla Wall Connector load sharing protocol

@tga: Be carefull not to mix "HPWC" (old Gen I) and "TWC" (new Gen II) devices in this sort of discussions. Before you know, people are talking about completely different hardware ...;) Of course: all info is welcome !

You certainly don't give up easily, I give you that ! Great research. That component QB3 is almost certainly some sort of Linear Regulator (à la LM317 et co.) ! Anyway, thanks (!) a lot for those photos. I perfectly understand you don't want to disassemble that PCB. I was just curious. Can't help but feel there are more components on that PCB then needed ...

@CDragon: I would take a chance with CNA8 (White 7x2 Box Header - Lower left corner) ... I guess that 's probably a 14-pin JTAG connector. Be careful ... There is no such thing as a "standard 14-pin JTAG connector" layout ! A google image search and some probing around with you scope and/or...

Hoi Firebird ! Dat wordt een lange 'blijde verwachting' voor mijn Model 3 ... Pas bij bevestiging zal ik zo 'n nieuwe "Wall Connector" aanschaffen.
