No connectivity for a few minutes after starting car

It isn't isolated and I've had the same advice from Tesla since December 2020 when MCU2 was installed. Now, for the last 5 days, I've had no mobile connectivity at all. Wifi still works so I'm using the wifi always on feature to hotspot. Our MX is the gift that keeps giving into our 5th year of...

    Upgrading AP cameras

Can you figure out if the B-pillar cameras are as easily replaceable as the repeaters? These pics are from my MX last week when the ranger did the anti-condensation TSB on them.

    Adelaide to Perth

It took us 4 days Perth-Port Augusta and left Perth June 23, 2018. Just check Plugshare.com or @Jays200 on Twitter. It's possible but it ain't gunna be fast ;) BTW, It isn't going to be possible at all until the hard state border restrictions are lifted. There is no timeline for this to happen atm.

    Three Phase Service in USA

I don't know the percentage of single vs 3 phase, however, ignorant and budget conscious would by default get single phase but all street power is 3 phase and the only cost difference is in the copper wire and meter. Most house loads are single phase anyway with the exception of some pool...

    Three Phase Service in USA

I've had a PW2 reserved since Nov' 17 but desperately want a 3 phase version as my existing inverters are 3 phase, my Tesla charges from the Tesla supplied 240V 32A 3 phase 22kW HPWC and I want my whole home backed up across all 3 phases if/when an outage occurs, as opposed to a third of my...

    I retrofit MCU2, IC2, Tuner2, and FSD Computer into my HW2.0 Car

Great read and awesome write-up with clear methodology and great pics. Thanks for all the hard work. Although I will never do this, it's an important addition to the knowledge base. It's also awesome that the modern electric car "mechanic" didn't even open the bonnet, get underneath the car or...

    [EU] Powerwall and 3-phase 400VAC

Yes, the GEN24 seems very impressive and will be my next inverter with a BYD battery, however, I still want a Tesla Powerwall 3 3 phase at the front of my setup so all the other inverters never see the grid go down because the Powerwall mimics the grid instantly.

    To Stagger or Unstagger rims?

Just get 4 x 9" from T sportline. I purchased two extra 20"x9" Slipstreams from Tesla to have unstaggered and thus can rotate. I ended up with 265 Continental tyres which is 10 wide than original front 255s and 10 narrower than the original 275 rears. No rubbing on the front either.

How much do you charge from solar in Australia?

Since we had our second 5kW inverter (10kW total inverter capacity) added in late September, I charge from home almost exclusively. The other incentive is that now we've lost our pawltry 7c feed in tariff there is even more reason not to give Synergy any free juice. Made 90kWh today :)

Warranty - does anyone have their warranty terms from 2017

Yeah sorry. I know the OP was about battery but there was a small window where the body warranty was double current warranty. Just wanted to highlight what Tesla was up to in deleting uploaded docs and referring to current rather than past docs.

Warranty - does anyone have their warranty terms from 2017

In my instance, the warranty from April 2017 clearly states a 160k/8yr body warranty and the warranty referred to in the new revamped "My Tesla" account page references the October 2019 warranty which is 80k/4yr body warranty. Obviously, I have a preference for retaining the original, more...

Warranty - does anyone have their warranty terms from 2017

If you have checked your "My Tesla" account recently you will notice it has changed a lot. What's missing is where you were able to upload documents. Fortunately, I kept a digital copy of the warranty. Important for me as my car has 160k/8yr body warranty and 8yr/unlimited km battery/drivetrain...

    New MX with black screens

I was once advised by Tesla service to disconnect the 12v battery to force a reboot. Didn't end up doing it as we finally got the car connected via laptop hotspot using hotel wifi (son's idea). Was 3 levels underground in hotel carpark so no cell phone coverage.

    [EU] Powerwall and 3-phase 400VAC

I didn't want to add a battery but my utility made me add it because I wanted to go above the max PV allocation of 8.2kW for a 3 phase connection. Unfortunately, the PW2 in Australia is only a single phase solution. My hope is PW3 will be 3 phase and that will be my next addition. My utility...

    Preventive eMMC replacement on MCU1

So, the way it works is, just because a manufacturer might only give a 12 or 24 month warranty, that doesn't limit what is "reasonable" insofar as it would be reasonable to expect a fridge or TV to last , say 5 years. We have strong consumer laws here that favour the consumer. You'd have to...

    Sentry Confusion - Random Triggers

Although Sentry Mode is enabled on my HW2 2017 MX, I've never ever had a text alert or returned to the car to find alerts on the screen, even after activating it on purpose. What's the point if all it does is display the HAL eye on the MCU?

    Tesla Perth service centre

James is a great guy (despite him actually being a nice bloke) insofar as he's put up with Tesla making him work out of a shed for two years with not enough support as he's needed and on as much of a promise as us owners have been on regards a proper service centre. We all hope things improve...

    Tesla Perth service centre

@Chuq I agree. There are signs that Tesla might be moving in the right direction over here in Perth. We now have a new "mature" apprentice and a good indication of a new to Tesla tech starting soon. Also, "rumours" abound of a proper service centre location which won't have a Supercharger...
