Drivers and passenger door not opening fully

Everything starts from scratch on every iteration of hardware update. I imagine in the future your FWD will only crack open to allow a skinny person to pass through when they introduce a new HW5, until a software update fixes it (after few months). Welcome to Tesla.

Feeling a little salty about my purchase.

Welcome to Tesla. The front doors never had USS. The auto-present feature, or the front doors in general, rely on the USS inside the FWD, believe or not. If you pull in an angled parking space where the FWD doesn't see any obstacle on its side, but the front door is 1 foot away from the next...

Refreshed Model X Falcon Wing Door (FWD) will not open properly

Glad they got it figured out. I am one of those who has had endless issue with my 2016 (midnight silver) falcon wing door when exposed to heat. They’ve done everything from replacing sensor, tripod, and the door itself and my issue persisted. They ended up buying the car back and I got a new car...

Today is nine months I have been waiting for my Tesla X to be repaired. What should I do?

You said the car was towed to a nearby body shop called Lee’s collision center. Are they Tesla approved/certified body shop? If they are not, that is probably the reason why Tesla Service Center is not providing them certain parts.

Value of the MX with Replaced battery

People told me my McLaren is worth less after having its engine replaced under warranty @ 100 miles on the odo. No one will value your new battery higher if you were to trade it in. But, good luck finding the right buyer(s) who will put a higher value on your new battery.

Trade in X for new one that has Hardware 4?

Since you are asking on an Internet forum for strangers’ opinions, I’ll be the random person online that suggests this, GO FOR IT, YOLO. Once you get in this rabbit hole, you will discover that Tesla will rewrite everything for HW4 and you will have long periods of missing functionalities, but...

    Selling user model x questions

It will just cost you more if you don’t sell it now. Take a loss and sell it now, or rent it out on Turo or something if you ”can’t sell to a dealer at a loss”.

    New Model X key fobs

I received my 2 key fobs from @Lambeck2. No issue programming with my refresh Model X.

Model X Refresh driver side doors sensing obstruction that isn't there....

Correct, and is worse for darker color cars. How I know? My 2016 Midnight silver was having this issue and they ended up buying the car back after repeatedly failed to repair for 6+ times, with a complete new door etc. I ended up with a white X in 2018 and it was much better. Now my 2022 X is...

Rubber Molding On Falcon Door - Warranty

Depends on your SC, they may or may not fix it under warranty claiming it’s cosmetic and does not interfere with the seal. My local SC did not cover it and wanted over thousand for both sides because the glasses need to be replaced. You will just have to ask your SC to see what they say.

    Steam will not use Wi-Fi

It seems to be a Steam Deck OS / emulator because everything references steam deck. It said it will use Wifi but judging from the download speed it must be going through the LTE connection.
  13. O

    Steam will not use Wi-Fi

Same here, no wifi network, only Tesla cell network. Not sure if a bug or the way they want to limit its functionality to premium connectivity subscribers.

Trade in 2016 for 2022 advice

A 2016 is getting quite old. Have you had any repairs done to it yet? I traded in my 2018 100D with 30k miles for the 2022. The old car was already having suspension issue beginning of the year that was covered under warranty, but then it got the same issue on the other side which happened out...

Tesla $200 credit for charger — need mobile connector

I too received my X in September 2022. The email specifically said the $200 credit is good for a Wall Charger or it will fully cover a mobile connector. I tried adding Mobile connector and the order was completely free, or $200 for Wall Charger after the credit is applied. I wish the code...

Model X falcon door hitting everything

If someone is standing next to the door, you will see the obstacle detected lines as shown in the screenshot so it won't open. You can easily test this yourself. I am suspecting your "hitting on everything" is more of the edge cases, like someone is approaching from front or rear while your door...

Model X Refresh Front Door Closing More Difficult

Same here, coming from a 2018 X, the front doors are so damn hard to close. The seals are so strong too for the FWD you can hear them “pop” open. The trunk latch seems to hold very strong as well and make a loud pop when opening.

Turn off Automatic Door at Home

When I got my first Model X in 2016, the first thing I requested from tesla support and tweeting EM was to exclude my home when “Walk-Away Door Lock” is enabled, because I don’t need my car locked in my garage. It wasn’t until 2020 (having my 2nd X for 2 years) the feature was finally added...

    Who has disabled auto-present?

This feature isn’t for everyone. If you don’t find it helpful most of the time, you should just disable it. I’ve had it since my 2016 Model X and after few days I disabled it and never used it again after it kept hitting my kid when we both approach the door with her in front. I never enabled it...

Falcon doors won’t fully open at new house

As far as I remember, you need to override to open fully before “always open fully at this location” appears.

Waiting Room: Model X 7 Seat ONLY

Good to hear you had success. I am fighting with my service center for 1. They said it's based on production date not order date. Then they said it's company decision to reduce waste. They asked me to use phone key and the key card. I mean, really?

No more keyfob comes with model x?

The new FOB doesn't operate the doors, just FYI. I wanted to get a FOB too until I found that out it won't work the same as my previous X FOB, which I used a lot to operate the doors/close all doors.

Refresh X not showing option to open doors on phone app

Ok looks like it’s because I am within bluetooth range of my car so the arrows show up (Phone key shows connected). I then turned off bluetooth and the arrows are gone (Phone key shows disconnected). So it looks like you need to be within bluetooth range to operate the doors, which makes sense.

Refresh X not showing option to open doors on phone app

I didn't have the arrows on the doors when I took delivery few days ago. The Tesla iOS app was updated today (4.13.3) and I now see the arrows to open the doors.

2022 Model X - 22'' Turbine Wheels (Spotted Pics vs Configurator)

They are indeed individual pieces installed from the front. Very snug fit. Very hideous job for the owner to install after delivery. They should attach this note when ordering the car w/ the 22” wheels - Some assembly required after delivery.

WWYD: Wait on delivery or buy used (through Tesla)?

First this is Model X forum. Used car prices are still inflated. A 1 year car with 41k miles? Wow. I’d personally get the new one @ MSRP than paying inflated price for used 1-yr 41k miles car.

Waiting Room: Model X 7 Seat ONLY

Got this text this morning. My EDD is 9/18 - 10/30. Originally ordered Plaid 7 in June 2021 and got forced to LR 7 Jan 2022. I guess I didn’t lose my place in line.

Waiting Room: Model X 7 Seat ONLY

Congratulations. Did you end up getting the 3d maxpider and all fit? Did the car not come with any mats?
  34. O

Waiting Room: Model X 7 Seat ONLY

I don’t understand the floor mats situation. If the older mats fit the refresh then why some owners claim the older mats don’t fit? You know what I mean?

Model X 7 Seat alternative Mercedes Benz EQS SUV

Wanted to bring this topic back. I have had a Model X since 2016, another in 2018, and waiting for the refresh with EDD Sept-Nov 2022. I recently replaced my Model 3 Performance with a Taycan GTS. I am now considering the EQS SUV. It seems like a very nice car all around, but my concern is...

2022 BMW X5M Comp or MX Plaid

Do you mind going to gas station and you will likely go very often with that X5M, and do you mind the current gas prices? Anyways I also missed interior quality so I sold my Model 3 Performance and got a Taycan GTS. Lovely car. I am still keeping my Model X which will be replaced by the refresh...

Waiting Room: Model X 7 Seat ONLY

Are you saying your 7 seater is different than Roy2001’s? 3DMaxpider doesn’t show any mats for the 2022s 7 seater.
  38. O

Waiting Room: Model X 7 Seat ONLY

You are in the wrong thread. Your Plaid is 6 seater which has captain motorized 2nd row seats.
  39. O

Waiting Room: Model X 7 Seat ONLY

Is there anything on the 2nd row seats when you pushed the button? One click should tilt the seats and free to move forward. On the 3rd row button, first push folds the headrest, second push folds the seats.

Waiting Room: Model X 7 Seat ONLY

It’s very typical for Tesla to push deliveries in its closest areas (namely West Coast/California) toward EOQ. It’s unlikely you will get it EOQ now so your EDD of Aug-Oct is consistent.
  41. O

Waiting Room: Model X 7 Seat ONLY

Button behind the seat is for ingress/egress for 3rd row. If you want the seat to fold down, you lift the lever on the side. If you want the seat to move forward/backward, you lift the lever on the bottom of the seat.

Waiting Room: Model X 7 Seat ONLY

The 3rd row in the Model X 7 seater has always been the dark corner. You can’t see out front and it makes people very uncomfortable in longer rides. You can bet that picture is 100% real, which is the same configuration as the current 7 seater. Go ahead and change to the 6 seater.

Waiting Room: Model X 7 Seat ONLY

I wouldn’t be surprised multiple people who ordered last week will get the car sooner than all of us who waited a year.
