    Need Diminished Value Advice

Wanted to follow up after all the dust had setttled. Took a while but I ended up getting the whole assessment. If any of you have the unfortunate situation with needing help to fight for diminished value in AZ, I can’t recommend the team of Patrick of Collision Consulting and Jake at Schenk...

Strategies for Powerwalls and Utility Demand Plans

    Yes that's exactly how I'm doing it: 3p - 80% reserve 4p - 60% reserve 5p - 40% reserve 6p - 20% reserve 7p - 0% reserve When I first started with this schedule, I freaked out because if the PW2 sometimes went a little bit under and then started charging during on-peak hours. I definitely...

Strategies for Powerwalls and Utility Demand Plans

@Darwin I just wanted to report back that your app is working pretty well for me. I've definitely got a complicated thermostat schedule but it keeps my demand down. Basically, I precool the whole house from 12-3p, bump up the downstairs temperature @ 3p, and keep the upstairs cooled where we...

Strategies for Powerwalls and Utility Demand Plans

It's funny you mention you love looking at this stuff. I do too. I realize I'm putting more effort into this than the return I'm getting but that's not the point. It's for the sport of it! ;-) I'll keep you posted. Thanks!

Strategies for Powerwalls and Utility Demand Plans

Yeah I don't fully undersand how APS is calculating demand over the hour. This is from their tariff sheet: The kW used to determine the demand charge above will be the Customer’s highest amount of demand (kW) averaged in a one-hour On-Peak period for the billing month. I read that as they...

Strategies for Powerwalls and Utility Demand Plans

I got everything working and the commands are triggering as expected but something kind of weird happened at the first peak hour. The reserve was set to 80% but it drained down to 76-77% as my 1 AC unit was running. Around when the AC unit stopped, the PW2 started recharging during the peak...

Strategies for Powerwalls and Utility Demand Plans

Hi @Darwin, I just set this up through the app but have a few questions: I currently set reserve to 0% and the PW2 charges off-peak. Since my standard reserve is 0%, do I really need to set it back to 100% at 8p thru SmartThings scheduling or should I leave it? For settings like "Mode to set"...

Yokohama Geolandar X-CV - Finally another option?

Curious how the Yokahamas are holding up? Thinking about purchasing them. Deciding between those and the Nokian WR G4 tires. Most of our driving is in sunny AZ.

Strategies for Powerwalls and Utility Demand Plans

I just ordered the SmartThings Hub. In the first hour of on-peak usage about 28% of the batt drained out with just 1 unit running. I need to read up on how APS exactly calculates the demand over the hour. It seems to me if it's on every hour, then maybe I just set it to: 80% @ 3p 60% @ 4p...

Strategies for Powerwalls and Utility Demand Plans

@Darwin I finally got my Powerwall operational today after all this time. Does your PowerWall Manager SmartThings app still have the capability of reducing reserve as you mentioned in the above post? The reality is that I only have 2 zones I really care about during peak time. Currently I have...

Yeah it was an expensive repair. I agree, I’m talking to a lawyer who’s ready to take my case. American Family’s $8000 “final” offer is insufficient.

    Need Diminished Value Advice

After a few rounds, the last is that American Family has offered $8K all via email. They have said their final offer and I can proceed however I want if it's not acceptable. So I am definitely looking into an at going with an attorney. Collision Consulting has sent some recommendations...

Strategies for Powerwalls and Utility Demand Plans

This is awesome. So how exactly does the algorithm work? Assuming all 4 thermostats are set to 80 degrees and all 4 zones get to 81, does it just get Zone 1 down to 80, then shut it off, then turn on Zone 2 let it get to 80, etc? I signed off on getting the Powerall 2. Hopefully even though...

Strategies for Powerwalls and Utility Demand Plans

@Darwin how is your setup going so far now that we're almost out of summer here in AZ? I'm in APS territory. I've been referral awarded a Founder's PW2 but don't have solar. I'm debating whether it's worth installing ($2500) just to help with load shifting. My demand charge last month was...

    Need Diminished Value Advice

On 4/12/19 a drunk HS girl drove into our 2017 X 100D: It took 3.5 months and $23K to repair. My appraiser came back with a DV estimate of $23.5K. Her insurance, American Family, said their independent appraiser came back with an estimate of $646 which is utterly laughable. However...

    What should I do (s or 3)

If you need the range for road trips or think FSD will happen I’d go 3. Otherwise the S is a more boss car and you’ll enjoy the extra space so if that’s more appealing I’d go that route. It’s a tough call but I’d go S

This is why you need a dashcam...

My understanding with how this works is that I would get an appraisal from a co and submit that to the other driver’s insurance, American Family. They have accepted liability. I’ll talk to the appraisal company about all this.
  25. R

This is why you need a dashcam...

The appraisal was from the insurance company. The body shop, New Image Paint and Body, in Tempe, AZ has told me they will order parts this Monday.

This happened to my wife and kids last Friday evening: Unbelievable, but glad everyone was okay. Glad we had the dashcam so didn't have to worry about who's fault this was. The other driver's insurance (American Family) has accepted liability. The appraiser has given a ~$12K...

I’m trying to do it. I love driving a Tesla but hate dealing with Tesla. I want to know what I would get back before I actually request the refund. This is their response after more than a week: “We are not able to give an estimate on how much of a refund they will receive as this is...

Brand New Model X 22" Turbine Wheel and Pirelli Scorpion Tire Package

    Model X 75D (237 EPA) or software locked 100D (270 EPA)

Model X Used From Tesla? Good idea or Bad

I agree w/ @Plan B. If you’re getting substantial depreciation on a X AP1 I’d go for it. I have an AP1 S and an AP2 X and I don’t notice that much difference. I find the AP1 to be smoother and the navigate on autopilot of EAP does not seem that impressive.

Private Party Purchase (Out of State)

Update I’ve decided to go with either AZFCU or OneAZ because their rates were much lower. But the rub is that I can’t get the loan until the car is registered in AZ. So I paid off (out of pocket) the seller’s loan on 12/6 and the lender electronically released the CA title on 12/7. The DMV...

Private Party Purchase (Out of State)

Thanks @Kandiru. I checked out DCU but their rates for used around 4%. Best if 3.74% if I use their checking I think. I'm currently leaning toward Arizona Federal Credit Union (AZFCU) offering 3.24%. The rub is that the vehicle needs to be registered in AZ. So I would have to pay cash and...

    2018 Model X P100D - Perfect Condition

A quick and dirty way is: 1. $153,700 - total for P100D right now configured on tesla.com with midnight silver, white interior, 6 seat config, EAP 2. -$7500 - fed tax credit ($146,200 subtotal) 3. -$16675.95 - 3 months of depreciation on subtotal $129,524

Private Party Purchase (Out of State)

Yeah based on the feedback I guess $1325 is NOT reasonable. :-) I've reached out to Laura Curto @ Vehicle Shipping Group based on old post on the I found on the Roadster forum. She's put out a bid for $550 for me for open carrier transport. Will report back on how it turns out.

    Good deal? Model x

I think it's a decent deal given the really low miles. I'm assuming it has EAP enabled? Problem is that inventory is pretty low so it's hard to tell. Does the car have AP2.5? If the config lines up with what you want I'd go for it.

Private Party Purchase (Out of State)

I think Plycar is enclosed trailer. So who did you use for $825? Open to suggestions! I did the math, $100 one-way flight, $300 food/lodging, 2 days of time. At $1325 driving it myself would be worth it but for<= $800-900 I'd def ship it. Thanks!
