MCU1 S Owners: Logic FOR/AGAINST Tesla's $2,500 "Infotainment Upgrade"? (Not required for FSD)

I think it would be accurate to say we don't agree on this.

Then don't call it "Full Self-Driving Visualization Preview" If you are going to quote me, at least have the courtesy to include the whole statement.

MCU1 S Owners: Logic FOR/AGAINST Tesla's $2,500 "Infotainment Upgrade"? (Not required for FSD)

For those who want to upgrade to MCU2, having the option certainly is nice. That said, I don't see how Tesla can say to owners who purchased FSD and have HW2.0 or HW2.5 with MCU1, you get a new FSD computer but don't get the Enhanced Visualizations unless you pay $2500 to upgrade the MCU. Part...

    Autopilot gone?

The image on my dash console is not working. Shows the car slightly off center in the lane but the lane lines are static (i.e. it's not updating as I drive).

    Autopilot gone?

I'm having the same issue (Sept. 2017 S75D SW:2018.42.2). Everything worked fine yesterday but today no AP, TACC or regular CC, or automatic wipers. Have tried rebooting MCU and did a full shutdown/restart, but still not working. I called the local service center and it was over a 30 minute...

Three-position dynamic LED turning lights in new, custom Model S

You should have received the adaptive headlights. The introduction of AP2.5 hardware was after the options changed and the lights became standard. Also, your window sticker from the car has the date of manufacture on it. It sounds like yours was an August or September build.

WTB Tesla Quick Connect Phone Dock Kit

Looking for one of the Tesla Quick Connect Phone Dock kits. Prefer one that has both lightning cable and micro USB, but will take one that has just the lightning cable. Willing to pay $32 (including shipping). Saves me a couple dollars and a trip to the SC. Thanks.

Another Tesla Screw-up? (Three-position dynamic LED Turning Light)

We are getting off topic a bit, but I wouldn't get worked up over your list. You said you knew your car wouldn't have Smart Air Suspension (SAS), which means it was built before the July 22 options repackaging. The adaptive headlights were only omitted from non-PUP cars built after July 22...

Three-position dynamic LED turning lights in new, custom Model S

Correct. It appears that all non-PUP S's and X's ordered after the July 22 options repackaging were built without the adaptive headlights that should have been included. Just doing some rough back-of-the-envelope math: 24k vehicles/quarter x 50% of the quarter's deliveries ordered after July...

Three-position dynamic LED turning lights in new, custom Model S

Not sure intentions matter here. They were offering a set of standard features and they aren't delivering what was offered. Hopefully they will make it right. Does anyone know how hard a retrofit would be? Is all the necessary wiring already there? Does the headlight assembly just come out...

Three-position dynamic LED turning lights in new, custom Model S

Lots of people raising this issue for more than a week now and still no official response.
  14. P

Three-position dynamic LED turning lights in new, custom Model S

True, but further down on the same page it clarifies that the HEPA filter is part of PUP: "Premium Upgrades adds HEPA air filtration system" It doesn't do that for the Adaptive Headlights.
  15. P

Three-position dynamic LED turning lights in new, custom Model S

Regardless of the confusion about the "Three-position dynamic LED turning lights" being the fog lights vs. the headlights, the current version of the Model S page says "Model S now features full LED adaptive headlamps" and nowhere do they indicate that you must get the PUP to get them. This...

Three-position dynamic LED turning lights in new, custom Model S

Does anyone have the descriptions of the standard features and the contents of the PUP from prior to the July change? I sold a 2016 with the PUP and when I ordered a replacement in August I didn't get the new PUP. When I compared the old PUP with the new PUP, I could have sworn the only thing...

Another Tesla Screw-up? (Three-position dynamic LED Turning Light)

Ugh. I have a non-PUP scheduled for delivery on Thursday. Was planning to Xpel the front and Opticoat on Friday. I can't believe I might refuse delivery over the incorrect headlights. :( Even if they can swap to the correct ones later, it's still another trip to the detailer plus the risk...

    Wiki Model S Delivery Update

I'm not sure that's completely right. I originally applied for financing for through Tesla and they set me up with Chase. I then decided to go with Alliant because they would hold the rate lock past the Sept. 30th. I do have an Alliant savings account, so maybe that has something to do with it...

    Wiki Model S Delivery Update

If you are worried about the keeping the rate, just use Alliant instead. They are offering 0.99 and will hold the rate for 45 days from when you apply.
  20. P

    Locking in promotional financing

I just spoke with Alliant and you do not need to take delivery by September 30 to get the 0.99% rate. You just need to be approved before then and take delivery within 45 days of approval. I used Alliant with my prior Tesla loan and had a good experience so will be using them again.

    New 90D AP 2.5??

I suspect they had some 90 kWh packs they wanted to get rid of, hence the "Limited Supply of 90 kWh" line on the listing page. Not a bad deal if you want a bigger battery.

    Predictions for Q4 2017 Model S/X Updates

Well I'm glad nobody has come up with something that is making me too nervous. I have a 75D on order and while an 85 kWh battery would be nice (particularly if they wanted to throw it in as a software limited 75 in my build ;)), but I don't really need the extra range. As for the other rumors...

    Glass roof?

As other have said, the tinting is quite strong on both the glass roof and sunroof. I never found the heat gain to be too bad. Another important consideration in favor of the glass/sunroof options is that they both give a couple extra inches of headroom compared to the solid roof. This can be...

    Predictions for Q4 2017 Model S/X Updates

Just curious what updates to Model S/X people are expecting to drop in Q4 2017. As someone who has an order pending, I'm trying to mentally prepare myself for what I might miss out on... The obvious ones seem to be: Updated interior Performance update for 100D (~3.3 sec 0-60) 85 kWh battery...

Buy a Model S or X, get a free Early Access Token for Solar Roof

Sorry. Didn't think this was really an offer for selling anything. Is there really a better thread in Marketplace for something like this? I don't get anything out of this and was just trying to help someone who might want the token (and a car) and figured the Energy forum was a place where...

Buy a Model S or X, get a free Early Access Token for Solar Roof

For those who aren't familiar with the Tesla referral program, one of the prizes that Tesla offers for a referral is an Early Access Token for Solar Roof. 2016 Facelift Model S 75D - $64,000 - Central NJ

Right. Didn't mean to suggest the regular warranty was unlimited mileage. Usually if there are other problems with the car, they occur within the first year or so anyway, but if you are concerned about the general warranty, you could always do the extended warranty. Its $2600 for additional 2...

    2016 Facelift Model S 75D - $64,000 - Central NJ

Thanks. I tried to price it reasonably from the beginning. The audience here obviously knows these cars well and thinking that you can price it very high and get a sale isn't realistic. Yes, the indentations on the back seats are from car seats. I do use a pad between the car seat and the...

    2016 Facelift Model S 75D - $64,000 - Central NJ

This is my daily driver vehicle and my total daily commute is ~120 miles, so I put a lot of miles on. The vast majority of the miles (90%+) are "highway miles." I don't think mileage is nearly as big a concern for an EV as it is for an ICE vehicle. And given the Tesla warranty is unlimited...

    New Evannex cubby compartment?

That's the "Cubby Cap" not the "Cubby Compartment." The Compartment is a new product that is basically a drawer that fits in the opening. The CleanTechnica (EV Annex Cubby Compartment Fills A Gap In The Model S) review is the only one I've seen. What isn't clear to me from this review or...

Some exciting observations about the new Model S60 (software limited 75 kWh)

Not sure I fully understand your comment, but the fact that owners of software limited batteries are seeing some (presumably normal) levels of degradation is not necessarily surprising. If Tesla is limiting the state of charge (SOC) of the battery to 80%, as the battery experiences its normal...

Some exciting observations about the new Model S60 (software limited 75 kWh)

The charging times show they definitely are limiting the 75 kWh battery pack in the s60 at the top end so that you do not see a taper in the charge rate. I think the only open question is whether all of the 20% that s60 owners are prevented from using is at the top. While simply limiting the...

Some exciting observations about the new Model S60 (software limited 75 kWh)

@privater: thanks for sharing your charging data. I took the time and range values from your original post and threw them into Excel. Almost perfectly linear increase in range over time, but most importantly, very minimal tapering at the top end. Great news for new S60 / S60D owners.
