    Software Update 2018.44.x

Just got this. I'm one of those that still doesn't have NOA, despite having 42.2 before, supposedly my maps update is in some stuck downloading state. Hoping this update fixes that bug and I can get NOA for thanksgiving.

    Model 3 Software Update 2018.42.x

Just got 2018.14.2 installed, and it looks like Navigate on Autopilot has been taken out entirely. No mention of it in the release notes. Speculation on reddit is that they have disabled it entirely on new updates due to an issue.

Was working well for us multiple times this summer. I think I encountered one bad plug, the other were fine.

The latest referral award program totally stinks!!

Got my third referral in the spring, fourth in September. Due to all the rule changes I’ll now be getting two pairs of 22” turbines to sell. I’m not complaining (well would be nice to be able to pick a winter set) but what a bizarrely run program.

Pretty piss poor service so far at the Service Center

Was this at the Springfield SC? I've generally had very positive experiences with the staff there since they moved to Rt. 22. They do appear a bit stressed with all the Model 3's coming in though.

    Tesla Referral Program

So I had my third referral order placed on 4/14. Delivery this month. I was looking forward to getting my wheels for the 3rd referral, now it looks like I might be SOL? Are they really going to try to give me TWO worthless solar roof tokens instead?

    Geothermal heat pumps in northeast

Thanks all, lots of food for thought here. I hadn't thought much about air-source heat pumps, didn't know about their ability to handle low temps, and the the efficiency specs on the Chilimax look very good. I'm not sold on the ductless, as I don't know how I would manage all our small bedrooms...

    Geothermal heat pumps in northeast

Good advice, I have quotes for in-wall and attic insulation and sealing, but they seemed excessive so have been holding off, pending more planning on the addition & reno. Don’t want to insulate a wall that will get torn down. Wish we had done it when we moved in. I guess with these variables it...

    Geothermal heat pumps in northeast

We have 6KW PV now and hopefully could add more on new roof. Along with 2 or 3 powerwalls it should be good for backup, although will need to calculate the load per day of the geo. I haven’t thought much about solar hot water.

    Geothermal heat pumps in northeast

Thanks. We have a third of an acre lot, long and narrow, so I presume the easiest would be a vertical loop, but maybe if they dug up our backyard it would just be big enough. Haven’t had anyone come take a look yet. The house is 1600 s.f., with an addition might be 2400. We need to add...

    Geothermal heat pumps in northeast

Has anybody embarked on installing a geothermal heat pump? We are in the early stages of planning a two-story addition to our 1920 colonial in NJ, and I want to rip out our ancient single-pipe steam heating system. We don’t have central air yet either so will need to add ducts for that. My...

    Stress crack on X windshield

I was sure I had stress fractures in both front and rear windshields. Took it in to tesla and everything, where they were able to wipe them away. Turns out I have some very active spiders in my garage (and don’t wash my car enough).

Survey on sharing charging stations at home

I've had my 14-50 and HPWC on plugshare for a year, only one in my neighborhood, never had anyone contact me about it. The only situation I think it'd be used is if a travelling EV driver was visiting friends/family in the neighborhood. Otherwise the hassle factor is too high, when public...

Dec. 2016 build here, no noticeable ghosting but suddenly there is a proliferation of hairline stress fractures in my windshield, and a few in my rear window. Have SC appointment next week, should get replaced under warranty.

    FWD Sensor issue

Try rebooting the car for a temporary fix. Go into E-Brake & Power settings, hit power off. Wait 3 minutes without touching, then tap the brakes to start it back up. Worked for me until I took it in to the SC to replace the sensor. I think it is a common issue for some sensors after sitting in...

    Still waiting for 2017.28 c528869

Still on 17.26.76. All my tesla support attempts failed at getting it updated. Road trip is done, AP2 did pretty well but lane changes not great, some ping-ponging in the wind, and autosteer disabled itself for a period. This wait is painful.
  26. martinicus

    Autosteer disabled after 3hrs?

I experienced this on a trip yesterday with AP2 firmware 17.26.76. After using autosteer extensively and disengaging, it was disabled for about 40 minutes until we stopped to supercharge. It was back after that. The sun was setting, so I was wondering if glare had something to do with it, but...

Yes in South Orange. Glad to see a fellow X locally, I don't see too many, a lot of S's tho. You may see me around Maplewood & SO with my White X75 with black rims (just dipped my stock rims). Also some of my Maplewood friends picked up a blue X100 recently as well.

    Still waiting for 2017.28 c528869

Is there a way to see the AP2 fleet stats on ev-fw? If it's similar the TeslaFi fleet, the explanation for a trickle could be that the majority of AP2 cars already have it.

    Still waiting for 2017.28 c528869

Still don't have it on my AP2 X. Leaving for a road-trip tomorrow. So annoying. Emailed my service center, they said they can't push it. Emailed serviceNA and no response. Bummer. Looks like on TeslaFi, 93% of AP2 cars have it. Guess I'm part of the unlucky 7%.

Falcon wing doors issues on hot days.

We had the same issue on one door. SC replaced the sensors and it seems fine now. One temporary fix I learned - to reset the sensors hit Power Off in the E-brake & Power settings. Don't touch anything and wait 3 minutes, then hit the brake to turn the car back on. This seems to reset the sensors...

Tesla partners with AirBnb to bring charging stations to homes

No idea. Their tesla map seems stale. I've contacted them repeatedly about adding EV charging (including 120v) as a listable/searchable amenity to all properties, seems like it would be a trivial addition for them, but no success. I would urge everyone to do the same. Once more property owners...

How safe are FWDs for small children?

2 and 4 year olds here, no serious incidents yet. You have to teach them to respect the doors and announce when you're closing them. My biggest fear is the top glass, I had a hanging garage door handle that got stuck in there and cracked the FWD top glass closing on it. No sensor stopped it. If...

    75? 100? 75? 100? ARGHHH!

We've been happy on the range with our 60D as almost all our driving is short distances in a metro area. Just upgraded to 75D as we are taking a few trips this summer. Would I love the range of 100D once in a while? Of course! Especially for winter trips. But for us it wasnt worth the extra $$...

    Tesla Referral Program

Now someone on the facebook group is claiming that a Tesla rep said that the rewards are not cumulative, that is for each prize you claim you would be "using" those referrals, and they would not go to another higher-tier prize. So if you want a Powerwall you should not claim the Kids S. This is...

Model X 60D Upgrade - Is it worth the (reduced) $4,500?

Just did the upgrade last night. The price was more than I'd like, but no regrets as we head into summer travel season (unless they lower the price this week..) At least it's not still 9.5K or 6.5K. For me the big difference is the round-trip when staying at rental houses in rural areas, off...

[resolved]Upgrade options gone from My Tesla

Anyone else notice that their upgrade options have disappeared from My Tesla? Normally I have an option to upgrade my X60 to a 75, and upgrade AP to Full Self-Driving, but this morning the options have disappeared. I wonder if it's just a website update glitch? Timed charging question

You don't have to turn it off. The supercharger, or any destination charger, will start charging immediately. If you're at home and want to charge immediately you can override your schedule by hitting Charge Now, and then a confirmation will pop up. Or you can start it with the app.

    City Supercharging

I've been thinking about how they are going to do the superchargers in Manhattan. I suppose they could buy some parking lot but the property is not cheap at all. Most expensive in the country. More likely they could use a floor in parking garages, although most garages here are valet-only. I...
