Nah, no Irony there. Since the loaner was at the service center than it probably got the updates over the air via their geo-fenced network. Being at a Tesla Store or SC on their wifi is the best way to get a quick update from my understanding. I have no personal experience with this though.

It is such a shame. How could it possibly be so bad? My car is a month old, and it will not fully load any one page. I get it, plug-ins are dangerous and can be used to hack. But I feel like those brains at Tesla could come up with a way for us to load our gmail calendars, etc.

I know for sure that my X will give a chime and large Red indicator on the dash that lets me know that the door is open.

My auto present front door has never worked on my X, not even once. My Tesla rangers can't figure it out either. I'm thinking that it may be somehow disabled from the factory. And yes, I have the PUP.

Model X Favorite: AP convenience features Lease Favorite: No control over headrest. I would love to have my headrest come forward slightly so that I could rest my neck on it for long trips. Seat comfort is good in the X, but the head rest being so far back for me is undesirable.

I am speaking with our Ranger here today and am going to bring up a little Model X get together later in the year. He knows everyone well and perhaps we can put something on the calendar once bushburner takes delivery.

Yesterday my Ranger came and was able to load 8.0 successfully! For those of you within a service center driving range, this may be the only way to get past the "failed update" For those of you not in range of a SC, call your ranger!

I just called and spoke to a nice gentleman that asked me again to restart my center screen (2 scroll wheel restart) He then put me on hold for a minute and said that he wasn't seeing on his end what he thought he would see. He then said that he will note this and send it up the chain.... oh well.

I received the same update this morning. I got really excited and almost cancelled all remaining appointments to play with it. It almost looked like the same changelog as the previous update. (FWD behavior and front door, auto-present front door key fob, etc.)

Thanks Martin VanB! I have contacted my Ranger and he had no immediate response. I think the seals are great in the rain or car wash, but it almost seems like their channels drain "slowly" and during a rainstorm or right after if the FWD is opened, it just runs right into the car at one or two...
