Model X 22" Black Turbine Wheel and Pirelli Scorpion Tire Package For Sale

We just picked up our referral award from Tesla this morning after waiting a few years for it! We'll be trading the X in for a Y soon, and would love to get these tires in the hands of someone who would appreciate them. $4,000 cash/crypto, you can pick them up from me in San Jose or I can drop...

Accessories for baby’s in the back seat?

Thanks for the feedback, guys. I found a great mirror this afternoon. It is the Diono Easy View, and it seems to be made for headrests like the M3’s. The mirror is on the smaller side so it only needs a single horizontal strap around the headrest. Even with the small mirror, I can still see my...

Accessories for baby’s in the back seat?

I just searched the forum again for this and only found my old post. Now that there are about times more Model 3s on the road, perhaps someone has found a good baby mirror!

    Center Cap Removal Tool

I use a size zero flat head screwdriver. Slips between the rim and center cap and pops the cap off instantly.

UI Tweak #3 -- AP Following Distance

I hope they do that, too! But I’m not a big fan of voice controls as they usually require perfect syntax to work well. Plus, what else would the right scroll wheel be used for? If voice were the only option, they would have put just a big “microphone” button in its place Also, voice control in...

UI Tweak #3 -- AP Following Distance

Yes yes yes a thousand times yes! This is what I’ve been thinking would work well. I love the right wheel in the Model S/X, since you can make it work with temperature, fan speed, recent calls, and I think a few other things. I would LOVE if the right/left clicker allowed us to more easily set...

    Swiping wiper settings in 2018.4.9

Is anyone else having issues swiping between the activity cards and accidentally activating the wipers in 2018.4.9? If I swipe about 1/3 up from the bottom when transitioning between the main card, wiper settings, PSI, and energy usage, sometimes I’ll accidentally turn my wiper settings from...

Model 3 Aero Wheel Cap Kit

I got some caps from tesla a few weeks back. I tried the duct tape trick to take them out to put the aero caps back on, but the tape didn’t work at all. The easiest way I’ve found is to use a suuuuuper small flat head screwdriver to pop them out. It doesn’t scratch the rim or cap and only takes...

Still worth getting a Model 3 if Electricity costs more than Gas?

I agree with 100% of what you said! But the only electrician I’d trust to wire up a solar system is one who has done it a bunch, which means he probably either owns or works for a solar installer that would rather own 100% of the project to control the liability of a possibly-poorly designed...

Still worth getting a Model 3 if Electricity costs more than Gas?

As an electrician, please don’t do that. Most people who think they can do electrical work themselves have no idea what they are doing, install the wrong parts and material, and turn a simple job into a headache. Heck, I’ve seen many EVSE installations that “professional” electricians have done...

CNN Money review of the Model 3 - not very flattering

This route too, the latest and greatest android auto interface: Acura hides a slick Android-based interface in yet another SUV For all the cries of “I have to look at a screen to change some settings!” I’m pretty thrilled that the 3 doesn’t look like this. Just the steering wheel buttons make...

CNN Money review of the Model 3 - not very flattering

I bought 40 shares at the ipo in 2010 for $18/each, and sold a few months later to help buy my now-wife’s engagement ring. It cost me a bit more to buy back in a few years later! I have stock in most companies I believe in! Driving a tesla gives you unique insight into the company, unlike...

First display cars in Century City & Palo Alto Stanford Shopping Mall Tesla Stores

I visited the Stanford showroom on Saturday afternoon for an hour or so and parked my Model 3 our back where the test cars park. Whenever people stopped to look at it I’d ask if they were reservation holders, and if they were I asked if they wanted a quick 5 minute ride! I got to share the car...

CNN Money review of the Model 3 - not very flattering

I love my Fuji XT-2 because I can adjust every meaningful setting (shutter speed, F-stop, film speed) without taking my eye from the viewfinder. It’s an enthusiasts camera, and it’s awedome. I also love my iPhone’s camera because it’s easy, and sometimes I don’t want to think too hard when...

2018 New LR Model 3 EPA Filing Shows Changes, 130 MPGe Now vs. 126 MPGe for 2017

Lol on the Prius Prime MPGe rating! I suppose the car would use 25 kWh of energy per 100 miles, if only it had more than its 8.8 kWh battery. They should mention you only have to fully charge the battery 3 times to get that distance. Not quite an accurate comparison :)

    Model 3's Ride Quality

My 11 week old doesn’t love the backseat compared to my wife’s Pilot, but I think it’s mainly because I haven’t put a baby mirror in yet, and he likes looking around. My wife actually really likes the front seat in the 3 (not the case for most cars!) but didn’t think she could sit in the back...

Next Software Update - features that will be included (rumor for now)

It did that for me one morning this week, but only on auto mode. It was annoying enough that I turned off the wipers for a bit, and when i turned them in again I set them to manual low and high to compare, and there was no chatter with manual. Switching back to auto made the chatter start again...

Yeah Cal Poly! Can’t wait for them to add a supercharger to SLO. Hoping for a location close to downtown! Nothing would beat charging my car while eating a Firestone tritip sandwich and fries :)

Switch cars in app to stop phone key from working!

I’m hopeful Tesla will improve the software to include proximity settings, but the Bluetooth connection itself is pretty dang good. I’d be lucky if my 2013 Subaru would connect via Bluetooth by the time I got to the freeway 1.5 miles from my home! In addition, I’ll take having to find some...

Charge rate on 100 volt circuit

My M3 is charging at 6-7 mph using a dedicated 120 Volt 20 Amp circuit with the Gen 2 Tesla NEMA 5-20 adapter. Not great, and it’d take me two full days to charge 0-100%, but it’s all I could get at my rental!

Does Homelink work with your Model 3?

I was able to get Homelink working with one Liftmaster garage door, but couldn’t get it working with another gate and garage door (unknown brands). All three paired just fine, so I’m assuming it’s a software issue currently. I also used fresh batteries for the gate remote, but it didn’t make a...

Accessories for baby’s in the back seat?

Switch cars in app to stop phone key from working!

I was considering doing that, but then random people would still be able to open the car (accidentally or not!). I accidentally opened someone’s Model 3 at Tesla HQ a few months back, even though I only pushed in the door handle for a second to see how they work. The Model 3 will get more random...

Switch cars in app to stop phone key from working!

I’ve been having an issue with our M3 unlocking and flashing its lights automatically, since my home is directly over our open air car port. My iPhone X is probably no more than 30’ from the car at any time, and the phone key connects just a little too well. Today I used the Tesla app to unlock...

    White Interior - When

My wife prefers out cars to have white exterior with tan leather interior, but she loves the interior of our new 3 with black seats. Tesla Model 3 First Drive Reviews

Picked up my Model 3 tonight (VIN 157X)! They updated the software earlier today, so thankfully the auto wipers were ready for my rainy drive home in the dark. They worked great: sped up when the rain was heavier, and slowed down when it was lighter. For being in beta they worked great!
