I was giving this whole bolt removal issue some more thought and it occurred to me that I already had the ideal tool (short of a custom socket, that is): a whole set of snap ring pliers. That did the trick in no time at all. Job done! Thanks for all the great suggestions!

Every car I've leased in the last 25 years had gap insurance included by the manufacturer as a standard part of their contract. Does Tesla not include it? If not, I'll be sure to add it to my insurance policy.

Thanks for checking into that; I wouldn't have known where to look for train info. Even giving a brief switchover delay, my current delivery window seems excessive. I suppose there's nothing to be done for it, though, so it'll be what it'll be.

Just received the "It's Complete" email - with an estimated delivery of 12/24 - 1/7. What?!?! I could see a week, tops, not 3.5 to 5. It's coming to Orlando, not Sydney.

Mine has been less than sterling, too. At this price point, a company needs to offer more than just a great product; the complete experience needs to be on point, as well.

Ordered 10/14, VIN on 10/22, confirmed 10/24, and AP2.0 mod confirmed on 10/27.

Mine went into production today (or at least My Tesla updated this morning to reflect that status), but still projects a "December-Early January, 2017" delivery. I'm hoping for sooner, of course.

My 90D updated this morning from the queue to "In Production". I'm still hoping for a mid-December delivery, but resigned to later in the month.

I've enjoyed the ventilated seats in my current MB, but even here in central Florida, I've only used them very occasionally. Not worth delaying my Tesla order at all, let alone being subject to price increases. I'll definitely post pics once it's here and fully detailed.

My AP2.0 S90D is still in the queue with delivery shown in My Tesla as 'Late December - January'. A phone call to the sales line yesterday elicited an assurance that a mid-December delivery was most likely and, though a build date was in the system, they wouldn't share that date with me.

Are these the hard plastic sort of all-weather mats or the nice, rubber ones? I've had the latter on my last few cars and would like to get the same for the incoming Model S.

Wow, that's disappointing to learn. The blind spot detection (and mirror-located annunciation) are excellent on my Mercedes. That said, I'm still really looking forward to receiving my new Model S; delivery is currently tracking late December, though I hope it gets here sooner than that!
