    Ear pain/Pressure help

There are obviously a few different things people are probably experiencing, but the most dominating sound for me personally, and I would think what others are hearing also is low frequency booming. It literally feels like your inside a subwoofer at times and can be extremely uncomfortable. I...

    Delivered With Front Bumper PPF?

After doing some research it seems a lot of manufactures apply a urethane coating to bumpers as part of the paint process, they call it chip guard. Seems like it gives the applied paint some flex so that in the event of an impact, or even just a small rock hitting the bumper, the paint doesn’t...

    Delivered With Front Bumper PPF?

This is also clear. I can also tell you that it is definitely not any mark or residue left over from shipping film. It’s something they have bonded to the car and you can feel the difference. It’s also only on the front bumper.

    Delivered With Front Bumper PPF?

Your right it’s not “PPF” but it is an extra layer of something they have added to the paint that is only on the front bumper of the car. You can actually feel the difference if you rub your finger nail on the bumper as compared to the other parts of the car. It has a very similar feel to PPF...

    Delivered With Front Bumper PPF?

There is definitely some sort of extra protection on the bumper that isn’t anywhere else on the car you can clearly see it in certain areas and you can feel the difference if you run your finger nail across it. It looks like PPF but it appears to be more imbedded or sealed into the paint. I can...

Pic request of 245/45R18 ... plus extreme tire wear.

Yes I did have the alignment done. Although it was done immediately after the install and I have since heard you should wait awhile to let the springs settle? I don’t know, but the wear on fronts were even backs basically bald on inside 1/4. These springs are also very early Eibach springs, not...

Pic request of 245/45R18 ... plus extreme tire wear.

I use it for bike racks. Mine is a Mid Range and I used springs that were for RWD Long Range since they didn’t make Mid Range specific springs. That could be the reason height looks different don’t know if the weight difference would cause that or not.

Pic request of 245/45R18 ... plus extreme tire wear.

Yes so far I like the wider tire although I did take a hit on range. I don’t know if that is mostly from the wider profile or if it was just due to this tire in general. It’s probably about 10% or so. No rubbing at all. I want to say car is lowered just over 1in if I remember correctly. I do...

Pic request of 245/45R18 ... plus extreme tire wear.

I have a very similar car to yours, white, 18” Aeros, Eibach springs and I just put on new 245/45/18 Michelin Pilot Sport All Season 4s on it. I will try and get a picture tomorrow when lighting is better.

2021 model Y scan my Tesla battery size

Also adds to the suspicions that the 2021 Y no longer have this 74 kWh sticker on them any more. There is a sticker there with some of the same info but no 74 kWh.
  12. BAven8068

2021 model Y scan my Tesla battery size

I agree it is confusing. The sticker in the picture of the 2020 says 74, but I think they round up and just say it’s a 75kWh battery. My question is why would they put a sticker that’s supposed to identify the battery pack on a car and only label it with what’s usable in that pack. Seems like...

2021 model Y scan my Tesla battery size

Is Teslafi an accurate way of determining this? Here are the stats from a recent charging session on my 2021 Y (VIN 70XXX). If I calculate that 44% added 33.63 kWh of usable capacity then I get 76.43 kWh of total usable capacity at 100% this seems to be more than the 72.5 kWh usable I thought...

Yes. You have to lay them at an angle, but I’ve fit 3 in the Model 3 trunk.

    Vehicle Location in App

Actually this might be a new limitation of MCU1 cars. Just tested it in my MCU2 car and it was showing the live tracking just fine.
  16. BAven8068

    Vehicle Location in App

Has anyone else noticed that the vehicles location and speed is no longer live? It used to be constantly updated to where you could actually see the location and speed in real time as the vehicle moved. Now there is a huge delay, seems to be about a minute or so between each refresh.

Is my steering wheel supposed to look like this?

When I bought my car it had a square piece of clear plastic with adhesive covering the steering wheel emblem to protect it I guess. I remember peeling it off myself but it didn’t leave a mark like that.

I am posting this in every youtube Tesla topic I come across: Range loss, charge gate etc

It’s not about slowly losing 15-20 miles over the course of 46k miles. It’s about Tesla taking kWs out of my battery over night with a software update and then when asked about it they say it’s all within spec and nothing is wrong. They won’t tell us why this was necessary so therefore we are...

Range on midrange reduced to 219 miles

Ok thanks, yes I did see your post after I asked this. Also it’s probably relevant to note that this large drop happened to my car in the summer. This is why the whole temperature argument doesn’t seem relevant to me. Yes it will cause you to have a less accurate idea of just how much you’ve...

Range on midrange reduced to 219 miles

How much of a difference due to cold soaked battery vs warm battery are we talking here though? This is my second winter with my Mid Range and the first winter was spent in Chicago with temps well below where I’m located this winter. That first winter I never saw big differences like I am now...

2017 MX 75D 45,000 miles Maybe posting pictures like ours of these sudden range/performance grabs from software will open the eyes of all the deniers and defenders who haven’t had it happen... yet, because trust me it’s coming. Honestly all I want from Tesla is an explanation, it’s...

Range on midrange reduced to 219 miles

My Mid Range is showing numbers almost exactly as yours. Took delivery late DEC 2018, car now has 15k miles on it and 90% is showing 217. That’s just over 8% drop or around 21 miles basically turning it into a SR car. Also this didn’t really happen slowly over time the vast majority of that 8%...

Range on midrange reduced to 219 miles

If this was the case, software hiding degradation, wouldn’t we have had a lot of cases of early shut downs? Cars shutting down with available mileage still showing? I know I have driven my car a slow as 2-3% back before these new updates and never had any issues. I could be thinking about this...

Range on midrange reduced to 219 miles

I also have a Mid Range (1 year old 15,000 miles). I agree that batteries degrade everyone knows this, but batteries degrade over time not suddenly. I currently have a 7% drop in range and this drop happened over night, not slowly over the course of a year. Something is going on with certain...

Model 3 Pulling to Right (FW Bug!)

2 days after the update the pulling to the right went away. Tesla also wanted around $200 when I told them the issue I was having.

Model 3 Pulling to Right (FW Bug!)

Seeing if anyone else has had this problem come up recently. My car used to track perfectly straight, upgraded to 32.2.2 a couple days ago and the very first drive after the update I noticed the car pulling to the right. The steering wheel is also pointing in that direction when hands are off...

Range on midrange reduced to 219 miles

I have seen a large drop in range over the course of 11,000 miles on my DEC 2018 Mid Range also, although not as much as yours. At its best back in March it was showing 263 today it’s showing 250. I also have a 2017 Model X with 42,000 miles and it has lost only 2 miles over its lifetime.

My dash says how much I’m paying for super charging, but my account says $0.00

In my experience the times that I don’t get charged correspond to certain SC locations (I do not have any referral miles). I think I remember reading awhile back that at certain locations the property owners where the SC is located pay for the electricity and in this case Tesla does not charge...

Air conditioning unit stays on after exiting vehicle

I have a feeling this is working as intended. To me it’s just drying out the AC system after use in order to prevent the musty smell you sometimes get in other cars due to moisture build up in the system. Although I don’t know how long it runs or what triggers it I know it’s not getting “stuck”...

Air conditioning unit stays on after exiting vehicle

This has been happening for me even on my last 2 firmwares (12.1 & 12.2). It doesn’t seem to be battery cooling at all because it has happened even at very mild temps in the 50s. Also it’s a completely different sound and a different location from the battery cooling fans. It sounds exactly...

    Tesla Roof Rack!

The clear film is noticeable if your standing next to the car. It will also become more noticeable over time with dirt and other things building around the edges. I also noticed the last time I took mine off that the edge of the film closest to the hook that goes under the glass was getting torn...

    5 Months with my Model 3 Mid-Range

Also received my MR on 12/15/18. I have about half the amount of miles that you do but also had the sudden drop in range displayed. Shortly after the range was update to 264 it went from showing 238 @ 90% (264 full) to 230 @ 90% (256 full). You can clearly see the sudden drop in my Teslafi...

    To white interior owners...

I have 2 cars both with the white interior. The first one I’ve had over 2 years and for the first year I wore jeans regularly in it and it really took a toll on the drivers seat. I stopped wearing jeans and the discoloration hasn’t gotten any worse since. The second car I’ve had for around 6...

Does Standard Autopilot Swerve to Avoid Collision?

Side collision warning is standard on all cars AP or not. It will beep and nudge your steering wheel away from the threat slightly even when your driving manually, but its very slight and mainly to get your attention. I sometimes get this when driving through tight automated toll booths. While...

Does Standard Autopilot Swerve to Avoid Collision?

Neither of them do this. All these videos of people saying their car made a split second move by swerving out of its lane to avoid another car is wishful thinking. I think some of them might actually think that it was autopilot, but it’s just them having a natural reaction of turning the wheel...

AP vs. FSD -confusing or deceptive advertising?

It is odd to me that they will update the webpage advertising all the capabilities of the car to show the new 370 mile range on Model S, but keep the old way of explaining how the Autopilot features are divided up. I also think a lot of people get confused with the fact that Tesla uses the term...

    Lowering the Model 3

I don't need to measure it to know that the gap between tire and fender is larger in the front than the same gap in the back, but this has nothing to do with determining if the car is level from to back to front. Again you can have the fender wells cut differently and that throws your measure...

Wrapped side cameras and now getting error

I don’t know the exact mileage it took because after a day of driving I got frustrated with it and removed them again to make sure the connections were secure. So I could have reset them causing it to take even longer. If I were to guess it was less than 100 miles.
  39. BAven8068

    Lowering the Model 3

I never measured the car when it was on stock springs, but I do know that both gaps were awkwardly large. I think the appearance of the rear being lower on the aftermarket springs isn’t really the case. The car overall seems level but to me the front fender opening is just larger therefore...

Wrapped side cameras and now getting error

Did you remove the cameras and unplug them when you were wrapping it? If so I also had this message after plugging them back in. Didn’t think the message was going to go away but after a few days it finally did. I don't know if its a recalibrating period it has to go though after its unplugged...

    Lowering the Model 3

I have yet to discover any disadvantages, only positives, but again that’s just me. It is shocking how much just an inch or so of lowering changes the overall appearance of the car drastically.

Battery lost 8 to 9 mi range suddenly

Ive had the same random drop in displayed range after an update on my Mid Range car. Car was originally sold with 260 range. Sometime in January they increased the range to 264 with the 2018.50.6 update. Car held the updated range through another update (2019.5.15) Shortly after the car...

    Lowering the Model 3

Yeah I kind of had a feeling that the front fender opening is just cut larger than the rear is.
  44. BAven8068

    Lowering the Model 3

Not sure if you were asking about my car, but yes I would say by doing a rough measurement with my fingers the gap in the rear is just slightly smaller than in the front, but it’s very slight. In person you don’t really notice that unless your measuring it...appears more level than anything.

  48. BAven8068

    Lowering the Model 3

I have the Eibachs installed on mine. This isn’t the best picture because of the angle, but they do seem to give a more level appearance compared to the others that I have seen where the back looks to low.

Is FSD a myth, never to become reality?

Not only are the covering of road markings an issue, but so is the covering of the radar by snow. Just yesterday it was snowing in Chicago, I had about 2 miles of highway driving with AP before it was all gone due to the front bumper being covered in a thin layer of snow. I assume they can't...

    Now that autopilot is included......

I agree. When I purchased the new basic AP I just assumed that it would have the basic feature of switching lanes with the turn signal because even the very first version of AP1 had this basic feature. How that basic feature became a “FSD” feature I have no idea because it’s a manual function.
