Teslas sitting at Super Charger in cold weather

Strange as to what might have changed. In 2020 I took a trip to Wausau, WI and it was -24F overnight and -10s throughout the day. I left my car cold soaked and was able to supercharge it no problems back then.

    Plaid Vibration around 38-42MPH....

Update to my issue, took the car to the SC on Friday 17th, and explained the slight knocking sound to the tech, took him for a ride and said he could hear it. 8 hours later, they said the vibration reduction TSB is not necessary in my car (2023.32 FSD), and they did some "body adjustments" per...

    Plaid Vibration around 38-42MPH....

So I have an appointment on Nov 17th to fix this vibration/knocking issue from the driver's left front through a software update. I wrote on the service ticket as much details as I could, and that's what they said. Mine happens with my stock wheels and summers, and it's like a knocking sound...

2020 Model S radar detector mirror tap - switched power

You need a voltmeter tapped into the top red/blue wire, close/open the door and see if you rear 12V. It's switched, or it should be only active when the car is on.

    Will my 2020 Model S 21x9 +35 square set fit on a 2023 Plaid

I’ve got 21” Turbines as my winter set with snow tires and needed spacers on my 23 MSP. I did Bonoss 20mm front and 25mm rear and fits good.

Replacement Fob for Model S - how much did you pay for the fob and how much to program?

In my 2020, it was $230 with the fob included from the dealer, this was in 2022.

Do any HW4 Vehicles have FSD Beta activated ?

Got 32.4 today, and after a bunch of miles, one of the annoying things is the car activates the blinkers unnecessarily. Driving slow in the right lane in FSD, sometimes it thinks it wants to do a lane change and it triggers the signal to the right. stops and signals again and hesitates lol...

Do any HW4 Vehicles have FSD Beta activated ?

I wasn’t hopeful it’d come within hours but glad it did. I was a prior sub on my HW3 Ms, but don’t know if that has anything to do with it.

Do any HW4 Vehicles have FSD Beta activated ?

Couple days ago I subbed to FSD and got 11.4.4 on my HW4 Plaid. Vast improvement I’d say. With regular EAP I kept getting alerts at night about blinded pillar cameras with nothing blinding them from the sides or behind. Now seems those issues are fixed once upgraded.

What a crazy night! First highland, then model S and X drop to the cheapest I’ve seen yet with free paint colors!

Just remember the Plaids were selling over sticker used in 2021 and some were paying $140-150 for them. Used.

Front License Plate Holder on refreshed Model S

Yep takes 10-15 minutes on the refreshed S. Easier than prior models since the three star shaped bolts are on the front (was underneath the bumper which made it trickier before). With some fishing line, and a heat gun, you can soften the double sided tape that holds the plate holder to the...

2023 - Has anyone received a fully working/no issue MSP?

2023 MSP build date 5/23, HW4 perfect so far. One tiny paint glob in a corner and one little light scuff ion the front left fender. Yoke and beige interior, EAP, no FSD. Interior was perfect, zero flaws.

Forgot about that. MASSIVE improvement from the prior gen, but those were incredibly bad headlights to begin with. Compared to Porsche's PDLS (I had a '17 Carrera S and a GT3) the new headlights are really, really good. Shaper cutoff and better lighting pattern throughout.

    Changing tires DIY?

Been changing tires for the last 3-4 years on this car, and the jack pads definitely help, as they have a nubby that fits in the jacking pads, and this way you don't risk jacking from the wrong points. The HF aluminum race jack posted above works wonders as well.

2021 Refreshed Model S - steering wheel yolk material peeling off?

What I learn about threads like this is that if I follow “the majority” (which supposedly hates the yoke) without forming my own opinion and trying it myself, I’d be wrong.

Model S/X Retrofit steering wheel sold out already

I’m gonna be a contrarian here, supposedly being in the minority that likes the yoke. I think and this is just my personal opinion and I’m not a pundit to say or defend my choice, but I think stalk removal and the simplification with the yoke and executing it through the touch screen works for...

Plaid Radar Detector install with switched power

I don’t know but my car has HW4 with different front camera, definitely something has changed. I tried two different mirror taps and no luck. Works fine powered through the 12V in the console. Worked perfect on my 2020.

Plaid Radar Detector install with switched power

So just went through this thread and the videos above. On a ‘23 model S plaid you can’t mirror tap from the connectors indicated on a Valentine V1gen2. You get it power up but after a few seconds an e-fuse kicks in a shuts the detector and keeps power cycling. Seems like not enough power...

    Model S "Demo" Drive

Some customers want the traditional dealer treatment: nice showrooms with salesmen that explain every feature, but I felt that the demographic that Tesla aims to, in my perception, is the one that has heavily researched the car and have their mind made up on buying one (and don't really push a...

New Tesla/EV owner and first-time FSD beta user - is this a joke?

One of my main complaints of FSD Beta when I had it (paid $6k in 2019 for it), was that I had the impression that the car doesn't look as far ahead as it should. Coming to a stop a few hundred feet ahead, as a human I would let off the throttle a bit and let it coast to a stop, but FSD tends to...

    Autopilot Package on Carfax

I just sold my 2020 MSP to Carmax with FSD for $57K, I frankly didn't want to deal selling private. This was greater than the measly $44-47K that Tesla offered, or the $48K Carvana offer.
